Ford Observatory (Ithaca)

The School of Music at Ithaca College is the music school at Ithaca College, in Ithaca, New York. It is one of the five schools of the college. Ithaca College was founded by William Egbert in 1892 as a conservatory of music. Since 1941, the School of Music has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

The Roy H. Park School of Communications is one of five schools at Ithaca College, in Ithaca, New York, United States. The school is named after media executive Roy H. Park, who lived in Ithaca and who served on the board of trustees at Ithaca College for many years. As one of the first schools of communications in the U.S., it runs the first and longest-running student-operated television cable channel (ICTV) and offers students access to studios and more than three million dollars of portable and lab equipment. It has been named a top school for film, journalism, media, and entertainment by Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, The Princeton Review and more.In addition to its campus facilities in Ithaca, it runs the Pendleton Center in Los Angeles where students can study and engage in internships for a semester. Students also may study away at the college's center in London and through a newly established New York City program. Diane Gayeski, an alumna of the school and a faculty member since 1979, served as its dean for more than a decade before retiring in 2020.

It is located near the south end of Cayuga Lake. The name South Hill is shared with a contiguous area within the City of Ithaca. Ithaca College is located in the South Hill CDP.

Rufus and Flora Bates House is a historic home located in the South Hill neighborhood of Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York. It was built about 1828 and is a 1+1⁄2-story, five bay, center entrance frame dwelling in the Greek Revival style. It is sheathed in clapboard and has a three bay wing. It was the home of Rufus Bates, one of the early presidents of the Village of Ithaca.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Ithaca Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York. The district consists of 64 contributing mostly commercial buildings. It is composed mainly of multi-story buildings with brick exteriors and flat or low-pitched roofs fronted by a variety of parapets set off by decorative cornices. The district includes three separately listed properties: Clinton House, Clinton Hall, and the State Theater.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Sciencenter's Sagan Planet Walk is a walkable scale model of the Solar System, located in Ithaca, New York. The model scales the entire Solar System—both planet size and distances between them—down to one five billionth of its actual size. The exhibition was originally created in 1997 in memory of Ithaca resident and Cornell Professor Carl Sagan.Consisting of eleven obelisks situated along a 1.18 km (0.73 mi) path through the streets of downtown Ithaca, the original Planet Walk leads from the Sun at Center Ithaca to Pluto at the Ithaca Sciencenter. In 2012, the model was expanded 7,630 kilometers (4,740 mi) to include a representation of Alpha Centauri, the Sun's closest neighboring star, at the ʻImiloa Astronomy Center at the University of Hawaii. The addition of the Alpha Centauri Obelisk made it the world's largest exhibition, until the Akaa Solar System Scale Model added Proxima Centauri in 2018 at a distance of 13,370 kilometres (8,310 mi) away from Akaa. In 2014, the inner planets and Sun were removed as part of extensive construction being done to the Ithaca Commons, but have since been replaced. In 2015, a grant was approved to further expand the exhibition by installing an exoplanet Kepler-37d station on the Moon 384,500 kilometers (238,900 mi) away.
