Waterloo Maple

St. Jacobs Farmers' Market is a farmers' market and flea market in Woolwich, Ontario, Canada. It is located to the south of King Street North, to the east of Weber Street North, and to the west of the railway tracks. It is the largest year-round farmer's market in Canada, and is a popular destination for residents of the town and nearby communities, as well as tourists from Canada, the United States, and Europe. It draws about 1 million visitors annually.It was established in April 1975. The main building of the market was destroyed by a fire on 2 September 2013. The market was rebuilt and re-opened on 11 June 2015. The market is on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year.

Northfield is a stop on the Region of Waterloo's Ion rapid transit system. It is located on Northfield Drive in Waterloo, between Parkside Drive and the Conestoga Parkway, at the existing railway corridor. It opened on June 21, 2019. Access to the platform is from the north, directly from the Northfield Drive sidewalk; to the south, there is only an emergency egress on the eastern side, where a locked gate gives access for Ion staff to the Operations and Maintenance facility just to the south. The station's feature wall consists of brown stone tiles with wavering variations. Just opposite the station on Northfield Drive, in the same rail corridor, is the southern terminus of the Waterloo Central Railway tourist train to St. Jacobs and Elmira. It marks a transition point between tracks running in the boulevard of a road in the direction of the Conestoga terminus, and open tracks running in a railway corridor in the direction of Uptown Waterloo. Just south of the station, the Waterloo Spur freight line merges with the southbound track; a short distance south of that, the line accesses the Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility.

The Waterloo Central Railway (WCR) is a non-profit heritage railway owned and operated by the Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society (SOLRS). In May 2007, SOLRS received joint approval from the Region of Waterloo and the City of Waterloo to run trains from Waterloo to St Jacobs and potentially as far north as Elmira. On a typical operating day, the train runs three times a day on Tuesdays (June to August), Thursdays (May to October) and Saturday (April to October). In 2015, the railway lost regular running rights south of Northfield Drive to make way for the Ion light rail project. All Market Train service now runs between St. Jacobs Farmers' Market, the Village of St. Jacobs, and Elmira, Ontario. The train also runs on certain special events including the Maple Syrup Festival in early April.

The Waterloo-St. Jacobs Railway (WSJR) was a heritage railway west of Toronto that ran between Waterloo and St. Jacobs, Ontario from 1997 to 1999. The railway used two diesel locomotives built in the 1950s, originally owned by Canadian National Railways, and repainted them in their original paint scheme. The locomotives were named Spirit of St. Jacobs and Pride of Waterloo. It also had several passenger cars painted in the same paint scheme. Excursions had three stops, and visitors could board on a later train. The Railway allowed visitors to see farms of the Old Order Mennonites and visit the village of St. Jacobs. The railway ceased operation in 2000 due to maintenance costs. In late 2006, the two diesels and three passenger cars were purchased by the West Coast Railway Association. However, as of 2008 the diesels and one passenger car remain in Via Rail's Mimico maintenance yard.

Conestoga Mall is a shopping mall located at 550 King Street North in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Located at King Street's interchange with the Conestoga Parkway, it is the largest shopping centre in Waterloo, and third-largest in Waterloo Region. The mall is owned and operated by the shopping centre development company Ivanhoé Cambridge, which is a principal real estate subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.Conestoga Mall has over 130 stores and services. The mall has a Food Court featuring 14 vendors and a Galaxy Cinema. Anchor tenants include Hudson's Bay, Zehrs, Galaxy Cinemas, Winners, Sport Chek, Old Navy, and Shoppers Drug Mart . The mall, built in 1978, was one of the only buildings on this section of King Street. Since it opened, the mall has been expanded several times, and has contributed to the retail success of this area. Several big box retailers have opened on King Street North around the mall.

CKMS-FM (branded as Radio Waterloo) is a Canadian community radio station, broadcasting at 102.7 FM in Waterloo, Ontario.

Research and Technology is a stop on the Region of Waterloo's Ion rapid transit system. It is located on the Waterloo Spur rail line in Waterloo, between Bearinger Road and Columbia Street, near a prominent bend in Wes Graham Way. It opened in 2019, and it serves its namesake, the David Johnston Research and Technology Park, to the west, and the industrial lands along Philip Street to the east (via a pedestrian pathway). Access to the platform from the south is only from the Wes Graham Way side; to the north, the only exit is the pathway to Philip Street. The southbound track is also used by freight trains on the Waterloo Spur line, which serves industrial locations in Elmira. These trains only run in the overnight hours after LRT service has halted. To protect the station structure (and the trains themselves), a gauntlet track is in place alongside this station that offsets the freight track a small distance. The station's feature wall consists of ceramic tiles in a solid red. In the summer of 2020, the land between the platform and Wes Graham Way was converted into a park-like community space with landscaping, paths and benches.The station was to feature two artworks: Network by Ken Hall, a sculpture about connections supporting technological development, and The Passenger by Brandon Vickerd, a bronze figure to invite thoughtful reflection on the human relationship to nature. Network was cancelled when the artist was unable to complete the work due to other commitments; The Passenger was installed in October 2020.

The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) is an affiliate scientific research institute of the University of Waterloo located in Waterloo, Ontario with a multidisciplinary approach to the field of quantum information processing. IQC was founded in 2002 primarily through a donation made by Mike Lazaridis and his wife Ophelia whose substantial donations have continued over the years. The institute is now located in the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre and the Research Advancement Centre at the University of Waterloo. Its executive director is physics professor Norbert Lütkenhaus and hosts researchers based in 6 departments across 3 faculties at the University of Waterloo. In addition to theoretical and experimental research on quantum computing, IQC also hosts academic conferences and workshops, short courses for undergraduate and high school students, and scientific outreach events including open houses and tours for the public.

St. David Catholic Secondary School, established in 1965, is a Roman Catholic high school instructing students from grades 9 to 12. St. David CSS is located in Waterloo, Ontario and is a member of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Its building is the oldest secondary school building in the board. Historically it was a junior high school, instructing students from grades 7 to 10. St. David received full funding from the Ontario Ministry of Education in 1985, when the school changed its educational focus to students in grades 9 to OAC. Since the OAC year of secondary school was phased out of Ontario schools in the 2002-2003 school year, St. David CSS now teaches grades 9 through to 12. At present (2011) St. David educates 1045 students. St. David is named after St David, a 6th-century saint.

St. Jacobs is a community and former village located in the township of Woolwich in Waterloo Region, Ontario, just north of the city of Waterloo. It is a popular location for tourism, due to its quaint village appearance, retail focus and Mennonite heritage. Waterloo Region is still home to the largest population of Old Order Mennonites in Canada, particularly in the areas around St Jacobs and Elmira. They are often seen on the local roads using their traditional horse and buggy transportation; many also use horses to pull the implements in their farm fields.The Conestogo River, which powered the village's original mills by the 1850s, runs through the village. At the time of the 2016 Census, St. Jacobs had a growing population of 1,988 people.

Brubacher House (also known as the John E. Brubacher House) is a historic house museum in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada which showcases the home life of 19th century Mennonite pioneers in Waterloo County. The house was built in 1850 or 1851 by the Mennonite community for the Brubacher family. It and its attached farmland were sold in 1965 to the University of Waterloo.

Waterloo Collegiate Institute (WCI) is a secondary school in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The school is run by the Waterloo Region District School Board. During the 2019–2020 school year, 1,475 students were enrolled at the school. It has magnet programs including English as a Second Language (E.S.L.), Extended French, Geography and Strings instruments. On June 4, 2010, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
