3–5 The Shambles is an historic trio of buildings in the English city of York, North Yorkshire. Grade II listed, parts of the structures date to the early 19th century.Its orange-grey bricks are in Flemish bond, while the shopfront and guttering is made of timber.One of the buildings formerly served as the Shoulder of Mutton public house. Numbers 1 to 5 were modernised in 1970–71, the result of which created a series of individual businesses, with a single suite above for office space.As of 2018, the buildings were occupied by Take One Gifts and The Shambles Sweet Shop.

1 The Shambles (also known as Barghest) is an historic building in the English city of York, North Yorkshire. A Grade II listed building, standing at the corner of The Shambles and Newgate, part of the building dates to the 14th century, but it was renovated in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its Newgate façade faces King's Square, and this has the functioning doorway to the building. It is this side of the building, which is two storeys, that dates to the 14th century. It adjoins 4A King's Square to form an L-shape. The western side is three storeys, dating to the second half of the 18th century.Numbers 1 to 5 were modernised in 1970–71, the result of which created a series of individual businesses, with a single suite above for office space.

5 and 6 King's Court is a historic building in the city centre of York, in England. In 1376 and 1505, a building named Hellekeld was recorded as lying on King's Court, and the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England argues that this may be on the site of 5 and 6 King's Court. The oldest part of the current building is at the rear of the site, facing onto Pump Court. It is a three-storey timber framed building, dating from the 16th century, and both the upper storeys are jettied. It appears that this building suffered some subsidence, and several braces were added, to counter this. The front block of the building is also three storeys high. It was originally timber-framed and jettied, but in 1755 it was remodelled, and the front wall was rebuilt in brick. In the 19th century, shop windows were added on the ground floor of the building.The entire building was largely rebuilt in 1951. The front retains only the cornice of the 1755 structure, but other features such as its windows, and a drainpipe head dated 1755, are copies of the 18th century work. Inside, some beams and a fireplace survive from the 18th century building. In the rear block, much of the second floor frame is 16th century, in addition to a few ground floor beams. The basement has stone walls, reused square stone column bases, and massive oak posts.The building was Grade II listed in 1954.

7–8 The Shambles is an historic pair of buildings in the English city of York, North Yorkshire. Grade II* listed buildings dating to the early and late 15th century, they are located in The Shambles.Number 8 is the older house, and was built in the early 1400s. It originally had one room on each of its three storeys, with a courtyard behind, but in the 16th century, the yard was infilled with a two-storey extension. In about 1700, the extension was reduced in length, and a further extension was added, which included a kitchen. In the 19th century, the level of the second floor was raised.Number 7 was built in the late 1400s, filling the space between number 8 and a now-demolished building. Like number 8, it is of three storeys, each of which is jettied. Each floor is divided into three rooms, one behind another, although the position of the partitions has been altered over time. In the 18th century, the rearmost bay of the building was shortened. Inside, there is a 17th century chimney breast, built of brick, and much of the original timber framing survives. The fireplace on the first floor is original.Both buildings have been converted into shops, with an office on the top floor. Since 2002, the shops have been occupied by Monk Bar Chocolatiers.

1 Little Shambles is an historic building in the English city of York, North Yorkshire. A Grade II listed building, it adjoins the rear of 41–42 Shambles and faces Shambles Market. A former house, dating to the 15th century, it was restored around 1950. It is timber-framed, with the ground floor walls made of orange-red brick in English garden-wall bond. Its upper floors are rendered. It has a pantile roof with a brick chimney stack. There are two doors on the Little Shambles elevation: one for the ground floor and one for the upper floors. As of 2023, the building is occupied by Parlormade Café and Scone House.

York's Chocolate Story is a visitor attraction and chocolate museum on King's Square, in York. Opened in March 2012, it shows the history of chocolate making in York, including the Rowntree's factory which opened in 1890, owned since 1988 by Nestlé.The attraction is located in the centre of York, in King's Square. In 2018 it won gold in the Guided Tour of the Year category of the VisitEngland Awards.

45 The Shambles is an historic building in the English city of York, North Yorkshire. The building was constructed of brick in the early 18th century. The front, on The Shambles, was altered in about 1800, and has one window on each of the two upper storeys. The ground floor has a late 19th century shopfront. The interior has been altered and does not retain original features.Since 2009, the shop has housed the Shambles Sausage & Pie Company.

41 and 42 The Shambles is a historic building in the city centre of York, in England. The building was constructed in the late 15th century, as a three-storey timber framed building on The Shambles. The upper storeys are jettied on both the Shambles and Little Shambles fronts. The ground floor was later rebuilt in brick, and the upper floors are rendered. Inside, the timber frame survives intact, including a crown post roof.The building was restored in 1950, and continues to serve as a shop and workshop. It was Grade II* listed in 1954.
