The Barnett (originally known as the Barnett National Bank Building) is a skyscraper in the downtown area of Jacksonville, Florida, at the southwest corner of Adams and Laura streets.

The Heard National Bank Building was a building in Jacksonville, Florida, built in 1913. It was the tallest building in Florida for over a decade. It was demolished in 1981 and is now the site of the Bank of America Tower.

Laura Street is a north–south street in Jacksonville, Florida, United States, named for the daughter of the city's founder, Isaiah D. Hart. Historically, the downtown portion of Laura Street has been considered the financial district of Jacksonville.

Bank of America Tower (originally Barnett Center) is a skyscraper in the downtown area of Jacksonville, Florida, at the northwest corner of Bay and Laura streets. At 617 ft (188 m), it is the tallest building in Jacksonville, and the seventeenth-tallest in Florida (the tallest ten all being in Miami). It was built as the headquarters of Barnett Bank and originally named Barnett Center, but the name was changed to NationsBank Tower in 1998 after Barnett Bank was acquired by NationsBank. NationsBank soon acquired Bank of America and the building's name was changed to Bank of America Tower in 1999. The 42-floor structure was designed by German-American architect Helmut Jahn, and is constructed of reinforced concrete.

The Greenleaf & Crosby Building is a historic site in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located at 208 N Laura Street. The antique Greenleaf Clock is on the corner - it was moved from the company's original location and has been refurbished multiple times. On March 15, 2005, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Laura Street Trio is a group of three historic buildings located on and near Laura Street in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The Trio consists of two perpendicularly arranged skyscrapers, the Florida Life Building and the Bisbee Building, plus a third structure, the Old Florida National Bank (or Marble Bank), which is framed by the other two in a unique pattern. The three buildings, constructed in the wake of the Great Fire of 1901, are architecturally significant, but are currently endangered.

The Elks Club Building is a historic site in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located at 201-213 North Laura Street. As its name implies, it was once a headquarters for the local chapter of The Elks. On March 9, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, because of the historic influence of Elks establishments in the United States communities.

The Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse is a courthouse and U.S. federal government facility in Jacksonville, Florida. It houses: The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division, and corresponding offices of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. A satellite office of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Offices for the United States Probation and Pretrial Services System, the United States Marshals Service, and the United States Trustee Program.The courthouse was completed in late 2002 at a cost of $84 million and opened in early 2003. It replaced the old former courthouse, which was built in 1933 and had many indoor air quality problems, including illness-inducing mold and mildew.The new courthouse comprises 492,000 square feet (45,700 m2) over 14 floors, with a secure parking facility in the basement. It was named after John Milton Bryan Simpson, a federal judge who served in several positions in Florida, after passage of an act of Congress introduced by then U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. The courthouse was officially dedicated on August 11, 2008.

The Hotel George Washington, on the corner of Adams and Julia Streets in Jacksonville, Florida, was a 15-story luxury hotel that was in operation from 1926 to 1971. In its later years, it was one of only two luxury hotels in the downtown area. By the 1960s, it was the only five-star hotel in the area after the demise of the Hotel Roosevelt.

VyStar Tower (originally American Heritage Life Building) is a skyscraper in the downtown area of Jacksonville, Florida, at the northwest corner of Independent Drive and Laura Street. Standing 357 feet (109 meters) tall, it is the city's sixth tallest building. It was formerly known as the SunTrust Tower, Jacksonville Center and the Humana Building, among other names. Completed in 1989, the building was designed in the postmodern style by the Jacksonville firm KBJ Architects.In 2018, it was announced that VyStar Credit Union, the second largest credit union in Florida, and sixteenth largest in the country, was purchasing the building for its new headquarters. The deal was finalized in late 2019, after the lease of the former tenant, Suntrust, had expired.VyStar completed construction of its sign atop the building in August 2019. On July 1, 2020, VyStar finished the installation of electric blue LED edge lighting on the top tiers of the tower to accompany the VyStar sign. The project was completed by local businesses Dana B. Kenyon Company, Miller Electric Company and RS&H and was part of a multi-phase initiative by the credit union to bolster its VyStar Campus, which includes the 100 W. Bay building next to the VyStar Tower. The improvements made to the 100 W. Bay building include the addition of food and retail space. In March 2020, The Bread & Board, a local food concept that offers sandwiches, charcuterie and more, announced it planned to open its third location on the first floor of the VyStar Credit Union’s downtown campus at 100 W. Bay St.Including the VyStar Tower and the 100 W. Bay building, VyStar planned to move more than 1,000 employees to downtown Jacksonville.

The Hotel Roosevelt fire on December 29, 1963, was the worst fire that Jacksonville, Florida, had seen since the Great Fire of 1901, and it contributed to the worst one-day death toll in the city's history: 22 people died, mostly from carbon monoxide poisoning. At the time, the Hotel Roosevelt was one of two luxury hotels in the city's downtown, with many restaurants and businesses on its ground floor, including a ballroom and a barber shop. At the end of each year, the Hotel Roosevelt hosted hundreds of travelers who came to attend the Gator Bowl.

The Carling, formerly known as the Carling Hotel and Hotel Roosevelt, is a historic building in Jacksonville, Florida, United States built in 1925. It is located at 31 West Adams Street in Downtown Jacksonville. As its former names indicates it was originally a hotel, and was used for that purpose until 1964; it currently serves as a residential building.
