Clube de Futebol União, commonly known as União or União da Madeira, was a Portuguese football club based in Funchal, Madeira, notable for its six appearances in the Portuguese top-flight Primeira Liga, between the 1989–90 and 1991–92 seasons, the 1993–94 and 1994–95 seasons and most recently in the 2015–16 season.The club was originally founded on 1 November 1913, thus being one of the oldest football clubs in Portugal, and maintained a strong local rivalry with neighbours Marítimo and Nacional da Madeira throughout much of its history. After building mounting debts, and failing to fulfil consecutive matches leading to disqualification from competing in the Campeonato de Portugal – the country's fourth-tier league – União da Madeira were forcibly dissolved on 23 November 2021.As a sports club, União da Madeira had sports departments for Basketball, Fencing, Football, handball, Roller Hockey, Rugby and Volleyball. The professional football team were notably sponsored by the Museu CR7, the local museum dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo, who was born in Funchal.A new phoenix club, União da Bola Futebol Clube was founded in 2022, with the aim of "honouring the legacy" of the demised club. The club entered a senior football team into the 1ª Divisão of the Madeira Football Association.

Centro Desportivo da Madeira is a multi-use stadium in Ribeira Brava, Madeira, Portugal. It is used mostly for football matches. The stadium is able to hold 2,500 people and was built in 2007.

Tabua is a parish in the municipality of Ribeira Brava in the island of Madeira. It is located on the south coast, west of Funchal. The population in 2011 was 1,156, in an area of 11.03 km2. The municipality has a road which connects Calheta with Funchal, the capital, by road. The municipality of Ponta do Sol is to the west, and the municipality of São Vicente is to the north. On its southern border, the municipality borders the Atlantic.

Ribeira Brava (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʁiˈβɐjɾɐ ˈβɾavɐ] ) is the name of a parish in the west-central part of Madeira, Portugal. It is part of the municipality of Ribeira Brava. It is located on the south coast of the island, 14 km west of Funchal. The population in 2011 was 6,588, in an area of 18.48 km2.

Campanário is a civil parish in the municipality of Ribeira Brava in the Portuguese island of Madeira. The population in 2011 was 4,582, in an area of 11.74 km².

The Farol da Ribeira Brava is a small lighthouse on the south coast of the island of Madeira, Portugal. The lighthouse was built in 1930 on top of a promontory at a focal height of 34 metres, located 16 km west of the city of Funchal.

Paul da Serra in the municipal county of Ponta do Sol, Madeira, is the largest and most extensive plateau of Madeira, at about 24 km2 (9.3 sq mi), with an altitude averaging about 1,500 m (4,900 ft). Its highest point is the peak pico do Paul at 1,640 m (5,380 ft) from where the length of the entire plateau can be viewed. On days with good visibility, both the south and north coasts are visible.Paul da Serra is considered the most important area of the islands groundwater recharge, and their planar structure facilitates the infiltration of a significant part of high rainfall year, while slowing the runoff towards the sea. The ground cover in almost all the Paul da Serra is composed of underbrush, reminiscent of its former use as grazing site, stressing among other the Feiteira (Pteridium aquilinum), highland bent, (Agrostis castellana), broom (Cytisus scoparius ssp. scoparius, C. striatus and C. multiflorus), the gorse (Ulex europaeus ssp. latebracteatus and U. minor), St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) or pelicão (Hypericum linarifolium and H. humifusum) and Thymus micans, an endemic species of Madeira, confined to the central mountain massif. With the abandonment of grazing due to government policies for environmental recovery, the island's mountains can be seen recovering, slowly but consistently, vegetation thought to be the original, before slaughter by the colonizers. This vegetation, mainly composed of heather species Erica arborea and Erica platycodon ssp. maderincola, heathland form of altitude sized tree up to 9 m (30 ft) high, as observed in the area of Bica da Cana, in the northeast of the plateau. However, the cedar-of-Madeira (Juniperus cedrus ssp. maderensis) that should have been part of that original vegetation, hardly will again take its place.As a flat area, it is favorable to the installation of wind farms. Virtually all wind energy produced on the island comes from these.

Serra de Água (Portuguese meaning literally mountain range of water) is a civil parish in the municipality of Ribeira Brava on the Portuguese island of Madeira. The population in 2011 was 1,049, in an area of 24.16 km².

Quinta Grande, created on 24 July 1848, is one of the five civil parishes that constitute the municipality of Câmara de Lobos in the archipelago of Madeira, Portugal. The population as of 2011 was 2,099, in an area of 4.14 square kilometres (1.60 sq mi). The community is primarily oriented around agriculture, although it has become an important tourist stop in Madeira, due to the Cabo Girão, which is considered the highest promontory in Europe at 580 metres (1,900 ft).

Cabo Girão is a lofty sea cliff located along the southern coast of the island of Madeira, in the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira, geographically part of Africa. Cabo Girão is a tourist lookout point, with up to 1800 visitors a day. The location is also a common starting point for hikers.
