Warszawa Anin railway station is a railway station in the Wawer district of Warsaw, Poland. As of 2012, it is served by Koleje Mazowieckie, who run the KM7 services from Warszawa Zachodnia to Dęblin and by Szybka Kolej Miejska, who run the S1 services from Pruszków PKP to Otwock.

The First Battle of Wawer was fought on 19 February 1831, between Poland and Russia. Polish forces, led by Michał Gedeon Radziwiłł, were defeated by the Russian Pahlen and Rosen corps, commanded by Hans Karl von Diebitsch. In this battle, Polish commanders did not receive any reinforcements, unlike the Russians.

Wawer (Polish pronunciation: [ˈvavɛr] ) is one of the districts of Warsaw, located in the south-eastern part of the city. The Vistula river runs along its western border. Wawer became a district of Warsaw on 27 October 2002 (previously it was a part of Praga Południe district, and a municipality earlier). Wawer borders Praga Południe and Rembertów from the north, Wesoła from the east and Wilanów with Mokotów from the west (across the Vistula).

Bronisława Czecha Street (Polish: Ulica Bronisława Czecha) is located in Warsaw, Poland. Its dual carriageway, starts in the district of Wawer continuing from Płowiecka street on a viaduct over PKP rail line 7 north of Warszawa Wawer railway station, runs east mostly through the forest of the Masovian Landscape Park to the border between Wawer and Wesoła were from an intersection with a residential street called Wawerska the main road continues as Trakt Brzeski. Its path forms the boundary between the neighborhoods of Marysin Wawerski to the north and Anin to the south. It is the main road exiting Warsaw towards the east, and one of three roads connecting Wesoła with the rest of Warsaw together with Korkowa Street and Cyrulików Street. Together with Grochowska, Płowiecka and Trakt Breszki the street forms part of the 19th century Brześć Chaussee (Polish: Szosa Brzeska), a 200 kilometer road from the Grochów toll house at the Lubomirski Ramparts in Praga to Brześć Litewski (today Bieraście, Belarus), laid out and paved along a historic tract by Fr. Stanisław Staszic by 1823. Prior to the opening of the S2 expressway, which serves as the southern bypass of Warsaw, the street belonged to the national road network as part of DK 2 and to European route E30. Upon its rerouting on December 20, 2021, the old course was downgraded to a Voivodeship road marked as DW 628. The patron of the street is Bronisław Czech, a Polish skier and Olympian.

Borków is a neighbourhood in Warsaw, Poland, within the district of Wawer. It is a part of the municipal neighbourhood and the City Information System area of Radość. It is a residencial area of single-family housing.

The Wawer massacre refers to the execution of 107 Polish civilians on the night of 26 to 27 December 1939 by the German occupiers of Wawer (at the time a suburb and currently a neighbourhood of Warsaw), Poland. The execution was a response to the killing of two German soldiers in a shootout by two petty criminals. An order to arrest at random any men inhabiting Wawer and the neighboring Anin between the ages of 16 and 70 was given and, as a result, 120 men, who were unrelated to the shootout, were gathered, and a show trial was hastily organized. 114 were declared "guilty" and sentenced to death, the others were spared to bury the dead. In total, 107 were killed and 7 survived, as they withstood the gunfire and were not finished off later. It is considered to be one of the first large scale massacres of Polish civilians by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland.

Kościuszkowców Street is located in the Wawer district of Warsaw, Poland. It connects Korkowa Street with Bronisława Czecha Street, which is also part of the national road 2. Its east side borders with King Jan Sobieski Reserve. Close to the street there's Church of St. Felix of Cantalice, and from its tower Adolf Hitler observed occupation of Warsaw on September 15, 1939.There are public transport lines running, including 115, 305 and night line N25.

The Church of St. Felix of Cantalice in Warsaw is located in the Wawer district, on Kościuszkowców Street. It was founded in 1935.

The Children's Memorial Health Institute (Polish: Instytut "Pomnik - Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka", literally "Children's Health Memorial Centre Institute"; CMHI or CZD) is the largest and best-equipped institute of paediatric healthcare in Poland. Located in Warsaw and directly subordinate to Poland's Ministry of Healthcare, it is also one of leading teaching hospitals in Poland. The centre employs roughly 2,000 physicians and staff, and includes 17 wards and 29 disease-specific out-patients clinics. It collaborates with Poland's leading medical schools as well as non-governmental organizations, such as the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. As many of the children treated there require long-term therapy, the centre also includes a pre-school, a primary school, gymnasium and an academic high school.
