Lucerne-Stadt District (German: Wahlkreis Luzern-Stadt) is one of the two new Wahlkreis formed from the former Lucerne Amt in 2013 in the Canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. It has a population of 82,620 (as of 31 December 2020) and includes only the city of Lucerne. ^a 1992/97 survey gives a total area of 216.65 km2 (83.65 sq mi) without including certain large lakes, while the 2000 survey includes lakes and gives the higher value. ^b Includes the area of Littau which merged into Luzern on 1 January 2010.

Luzern Allmend/Messe railway station (German: Bahnhof Luzern Allmend/Messe) is a railway station in the city of Lucerne, in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. It is located adjacent to the Swissporarena, in the south of the city. The station is on the Brünig line of the Zentralbahn railway company, and is used by trains of the Luzern–Stans–Engelberg line.

SC Kriens is a football club based in Kriens, Switzerland, that currently competing in the Swiss Promotion League. The club uses Stadion Kleinfeld as home ground, and form a local rivalry with Lucerne. SC Kriens women's team has been participating in the Nationalliga A since 2008.

Hubelmatt Observatory (German: Sternwarte Hubelmatt) is an astronomical observatory in Lucerne, Switzerland, billeted at the city's Hubelmatt West School. Built in 1979, it is operated by the Astronomical Society of Lucerne (German: Astronomische Gesellschaft Luzern).On 12 February 2017, the inner main-belt asteroid 6126 Hubelmatt, discovered by Zdeňka Vávrová at Kleť Observatory, was named in honor of the observatory and its hosting school. (M.P.C. 103029). This was an additional reward for suggesting the winning names "Helvetios" and "Dimidium" for 51 Pegasi and its exoplanet, respectively, as part of the 2015 NameExoWorlds contest.

The Museum im Bellpark is a forum for photography, history, and art in Kriens, Switzerland. It has existed since 1991. The Museum maintains an archive that documents the development of Kriens from a village to an conurbation, and is building up a collection of Swiss drawings. Its focus is on photography, and it regularly organizes exhibitions. The Museum is supported by the Museum im Bellpark association.

Swissporarena is a multi-use stadium in Lucerne, Switzerland, completed in 2011. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of FC Luzern of the Swiss Super League. The stadium has a capacity of 16,800 spectators, including an away fans' section fitted with 390 rail seats for safe standing. It replaced the demolished Stadion Allmend. The stadium was due to open earlier in the year but several problems during construction changed the plans. In February 2011, the club announced the new season ticket prices for their return home.The stadium held its first match, a 0–0 against FC Thun on 31 July 2011.Since November 2012, the stadium and surrounding area has been served by the underground Lucerne Allmend/Messe railway station.

Stadion Allmend was a multi-purpose stadium in Lucerne, Switzerland. Its current primary use was for football matches. The stadium had a capacity of 25,000, although security concerns mandate limiting audiences to 15,000. The stadium had been home to FC Lucerne since 1934. Over the years the stadium has undergone some transformations. In 1957 a new stand with 2500 seats was added. Between 1981 and 1983 a new grandstand was built. In 1995 the club redeveloped the North Stand. In 2007 the Swiss Football Association decided that the stadium was no longer good enough to be used in the Swiss Super League. In light of this the club entered negotiations with the city council of Lucerne and also the private sector in order to raise the finance with which to build a new stadium. The contract has been awarded to local architects Daniele Marques and Ivan Buhler. Apart from the planned football stadium, Swissporarena, (capacity 17,000) there were also plans for a sports centre with a gymnasium, indoor pool and fitness center. Alongside this there will also be two large residential units built in order to help the funding of this. The project was approved at a referendum on 24 February 2008. On 30 November 2008 the voters were given a chance to approve some minor alterations. This was also passed by the people of Lucerne. The project began construction in summer 2009 and the new "Swissporarena" was finished July 2011.

Kriens is a city and a municipality in the district of Lucerne in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland. The municipality lies at the foot of the mountain Pilatus, and is a western suburb of Lucerne.

The Château Gütsch is a historic château in Lucerne, Switzerland. In 1859, Burkhard Pfyffer bought a plot of land on the Gütsch hill from the town and was granted the right to run an inn. The inn was then bought by Ignaz Businger in 1879 and expanded into a hotel. Like many hotels of the Belle Epoque, The Château Gütsch was built on a vantage point above lakes, rivers, and cities, in this case the city Lucerne and the river Reuss. The Château was built in 1884 specifically to support the hotel. In 1868 Queen Victoria stayed at a site near the hotel with Prince Arthur and Princess Louise.As part of a significant transalpine railroad development and modernization plan in Switzerland in the second half of the 19th century, a railline was built connecting Lucerne to the château.A large part of the hotel was completely destroyed in the great fire of 1888. In 1901 the hotel received its present appearance, being modelled after Neuschwanstein in Bavaria.It was purchased by Evgeny Lebedev in 2012, who commissioned Martyn Lawrence Bullard to renovate it.The current owner is Kirill Androsov.

The Gütsch Funicular, also known as the Drahtseilbahn Gütsch (DBG) or simply the Gütschbahn, is a funicular railway in the city of Lucerne in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. The line links a lower station located on Baselstrasse, some 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) west of the centre of the city, with an upper station adjacent to the Château Gütsch hotel, 90 m above. The Château Gütsch was constructed between 1881 and 1883 on a site overlooking the city of Lucerne and modelled on the architecture of Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. In order to link the hotel to the city, the water-powered Gütschbahn funicular was opened on 22 August 1884. The line continued operating until 21 April 2008, when service ceased until further notice. After rebuilding, the line reopened on 26 September 2015.In its current guise the line is operated by Verkehrsbetriebe Luzern, the city's transport operator, and is integrated into zone 10 of the city's integrated fare system. Reichmuth & Co is a Swiss private bank that was founded in Luzern, Switzerland, in 1988. It was the first private bank created in Switzerland in 80 years. Its general partners are Karl Reichmuth (President, since 1996), Christof Reichmuth (CEO and CIO; Karl Reichmuth's son), and Juerg Staub. As of 2012, it was one of 12 unlimited liability bank members listed by the Swiss Private Bankers Association. It is a prominent major player among Swiss hedge funds.Through its Reichmuth Matterhorn fund, it lost $330 million in four hedge funds invested with Bernie Madoff. In December 2008, the fund totaled approximately $3.9 billion, according to chief executive officer Christof Reichmuth, who said: "It’s unbelievable that no auditor, no administrator, no fund manager noticed this fraud. We will have to wait to find out how that was possible." In spite of these losses, Matterhorn returned around 7 percent a year over 13 years.In 2010, it managed more than CHF 8 billion (Swiss francs), about 25 percent in foreign assets.
