Manamadurai Bus Terminal

M.G.R. Bus Stand, commonly known as Mattuthavani Bus Stand, is an integrated bus terminus in the city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. This is the second-largest bus terminus in Tamil Nadu after Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G.R. Bus Terminus in Chennai. It is one of the busiest bus terminals in south Tamil Nadu and one of the most important hubs in the state. In 2003, increased traffic led the Madurai Municipal Corporation to construct a new mofussil bus terminus that would complement the existing Pazhanganatham and Anna bus stations. After completion of the Madurai Ring Road project, the Mattuthavani Integrated Bus Terminus (MIBT) was constructed at a cost of ₹100 million (US$1.3 million) rupees, spread over an area of 18 acres (7.3 ha). The government of Tamil Nadu renamed it M.G.R. Bus Stand on 31 October 2017 to honor AIADMK founder and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R.). However, the change of name was not well received by the locals. It was also ambiguous since many bus stands and railway stations already bear the name of the late chief minister. The people trolled and criticized the change of name in social media.

Also, this area belongs to Madurai Lok Sabha constituency. S. Venkatesan won the 2019 elections, as the member of its Lok Sabha constituency.

The MGR Race Course Stadium (also known as MGR Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Madurai, India. It hosts several sporting events, including both, national and international kabaddi championships. It has a seating capacity of 10,000 and features a 400m synthetic athletic track. Constructed in 1970 in an area of 26 acres (11 ha), the stadium is the main sports venue of Madurai that has facilities to host over 12 sport disciplines.

Devadoss Hospital is a private hospital located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu was founded by orthopedist Prof. A. Devadoss. The hospital was inaugurated in 2007. The hospital got substantial publicity in 2019 when a Nepal women an acid attack survivor Bindabasini Kansakar was admitted for treatment of face transplant, and hospital reconstructed the face of the woman survivor by almost 90 per cent of the face. In 2023 laboratories run there started using first automated artificial joint surgery robot system in southern Tamil Nadu.

Muqayyath Sha Sirguro Wakf Board College (Tamil: மு.ஷா.ச.வக்ஃபு வாரியக் கல்லூரி; also Muqyyath, Myqyyath, MSS) is a Muslim minority institution and the only college in India run by the Wakf Board. Established in 1964, it is the first Muslim institution, and one of the oldest academic institutions, in Madurai. The college offers eight undergraduate courses, two postgraduate courses, and an M.Phil course in one discipline in the aided stream. The college also offers five undergraduate courses, two postgraduate courses, and a postgraduate diploma and diploma in Computer Applications in the self-financing stream. It has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with a "B+" grade.

Milan'em Mall is a shopping mall in K.K. Nagar, Madurai, India. It was opened on 28 September 2009 and is the first shopping mall in Madurai. Built in a half-acre site, the mall has five floors with a gross leasable area of 90,000 sq ft (8,400 m2). The mall has a food court in the third floor along with water zorbing for kids. The atrium of the mall is used to host cultural events.

As many as 90,361 people visited the 212th annual Government Chithirai Exhibition at Tamukkam ground.A mega book fair is to be organized by the Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India and the district administration between September 23 and October 3, 2022, at the Tamukkam Ground.

Gandhi Memorial Museum, established in 1959, is a memorial museum for Mahatma Gandhi located in the city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India. Known as Gandhi Museum, it is now one of the five Gandhi Sanghralayas (Gandhi Museums) in the country. It includes a part of the blood-stained garment worn by Gandhi when he was assassinated by Nathuram Godse.

Arulmigu Prasanna Venkatachalapathy temple, Tallakulam is a Vaishnavite temple, constructed by King (Mannar) Thirumalai Naicker, dating back to 600 years ago.
