The 800 Apartments

WXMA (102.3 FM) is a commercial radio station in Louisville, Kentucky. It is owned by Alpha Media and broadcasts a soft adult contemporary radio format known as "102.3 The Rose". WXMA's radio studios and offices are on South 4th Street in Downtown Louisville. WXMA has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 6,000 watts. The transmitter site is atop The 800 Apartments building, a few blocks from the studios.

The historic Calvary Episcopal Church was established in 1857 and is located at 821 South 4th Street Louisville, Kentucky. This stone gothic church was built in Old Louisville in 1888 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The church is a member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. It has a Latin Cross plan. The NRHP nomination document describes its front as:The main facade consists of a central gable pierced by a massive equilateral arch window, and two flanking towers of differing shapes and heights. These elements of the exterior announce the three-part division of the interior. A modest porte-cochere is attached to the square tower at the southwest corner where a spire achieves a height of 250 feet. The entrance occupies a centered position, and its arched portion is enveloped by a rather plain accolade, as is the entrance to the square tower.

The Fifth Ward School, also known as the Monsarrat School, is a 19th-century, three-story brick building located on 5th and York streets in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Over the years the building has served as a school, a hospital, a dormitory, a library, and a museum, and is currently occupied by apartments. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Presentation Academy, a college-preparatory high school for young women, is located in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States, just north of Old Louisville in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville. Founded in 1831 by Mother Catherine Spalding, foundress of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, it is the oldest school in continuous operation in Louisville.

First Christian Church (Immanuel Baptist Church) is a historic church building at 850 S. 4th Street in Louisville, Kentucky. The Beaux Arts building was designed by McDonald & Dodd and built in 1910. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.In 2015, the building was purchased by Immanuel Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist church, and a complete renovation project was begun in May 2016.

Warren Memorial Presbyterian Church was a Presbyterian congregation formerly located in what is now downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

The Heyburn Building is a 17-floor, 250-foot (76-m) building in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. In the early 20th century, it was an integral part of the "magic corner" of Fourth Street and Broadway, which rivaled Main Street as Louisville's business district. It occupies the lot that was the location of the Avery mansion, home of Louisville suffragist, Susan Look Avery. This block of West Broadway had been a posh residential corridor prior to the commercial transition of which the Heyburn Building composed a part. The Classical Revival-style Heyburn Building was completed in 1928. It was built by and named for William R. Heyburn, president of Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing Company. It was designed by the Graham, Anderson, Probst & White firm of Chicago. It was the tallest building in Kentucky until a vertical addition of the defunct Commonwealth Building was completed in 1955. The Heyburn Building has since gone through several owners and renovations, the largest of which occurred in 1983 at a cost of $6 million. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. On January 21, 2010, a man committed suicide by jumping to his death from the building's top floor.

The Porter–Todd House, an Italianate house at 929 S. 4th St. in Louisville, Kentucky, was built in 1869. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.It is a white-painted brick building with two front porches that are "among a very few fine examples of decorative Victorian cast iron work remaining in Louisville."The house was built for Charles C. Porter, a milliner, sometime during 1869–1875, but Porter had to mortgage the house by 1876. The mortgage-holder, James Todd, eventually acquired the property at a bankruptcy auction, and descendants of Todd seem to have owned and rented out the house until 1929.In 1979 it was the home of the American Saddle Horse Breeders Association. The house may have been moved or destroyed.

The Steam Engine Company No. 7 building is a historic firehouse located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The two-story, brick structure was built in 1871. It is an excellent example of the application of Victorian design principles to a utilitarian public building, and is stylistically related to contemporary buildings in the Limerick neighborhood.The firehouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 in recognition of its architectural significance.

The Commonwealth Building was a 21-story, 255-foot (78 m) building in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky located on the northwestern corner of Fourth Street and Broadway. The Commonwealth Building was built by James Graham Brown across Fourth Street from the Brown Hotel in 1928 and originally named after his late brother, Martin Brown. In 1955, a 17-story vertical addition was constructed which took the title of Louisville's tallest building away from the Heyburn Building, diagonally across Fourth and Broadway. The building featured a light beacon on its roof for a short time until being turned off due to complaints by residents in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. The owner of the building, Commonwealth Life Insurance Company, created Capital Holding Corporation in 1969 and, as the company grew, decided to build a new headquarters building on the southwest corner of Fourth and Market named Capital Holding Center to reflect the company's business interests outside of life insurance. Once Commonwealth Life Insurance Company and Capital Holding relocated to their new headquarters, the Commonwealth Building was imploded on January 16, 1994. A low rise office building and open space now occupy the building's former site.
