St. Quentin's Cathedral (Dutch: Sint-Quintinuskathedraal), also called Hasselt Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Hasselt Belgium. Its construction began in the 11th century, and continued for two centuries. It was elevated to the status of cathedral in 1967 when the Diocese of Hasselt was created.

Hasselt (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɑsəlt] , Limburgish: [ˈɦɑsəlt], French: [asɛlt]) is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital and largest city of the province of Limburg in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is known for its former branding as the "Capital of Taste", owing to its local distilleries of Jenever, the Hasselt Jenever Festival, and Hasselt speculaas.As of 1 August 2023, Hasselt had a total population of 80,846. The municipality consists of the following sub-municipalities: Hasselt proper, Kermt, Kuringen, Sint-Lambrechts-Herk, Spalbeek, Stevoort, Stokrooie, and Wimmertingen, as well as the hamlets and parishes of Kiewit, Godsheide and Rapertingen. Hasselt is located in between the Campine region, north of the Demer river, and the Hesbaye region, to the south. On a larger scale, it is also situated in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion. Both the Demer river and the Albert Canal run through the municipality.

Smeets is a brand of Hasselt jenever. In the past it was also the name of a distillery in the Belgian town of Hasselt. This distillery was founded in 1923 by Gerard Smeets (1894-1966). Nowadays, Smeets' jenever is produced by La Martiniquaise Benelux.

Z33 is an art institution in Hasselt that connects art, design and architecture with social themes. Z33 presents itself as an art centre and not as a museum. In fact, the house initiates, produces and displays temporary exhibitions, without a permanent collection. Here, the starting point is the intersection between contemporary art and design. The artistic exhibitions that Z33 creates and presents refer to social developments and scientific phenomena.

The Virga Jesse Basilica (Dutch: Virga Jessebasiliek) is a basilica, formerly known as the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk, in Hasselt, Belgium. It dates back to the 14th century, approximately 1334. The original chapel was replaced with the current church, which was completed in 1731. Prior to being elevated to the status of a basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1998, it was considered an auxiliary church of the church of St. Quentin, now St. Quentin Cathedral. The church and neighboring houses were heavily damaged by bombing during World War II in 1944. The rebuilt church, now the third church to be built in the same place, was dedicated to the then-bishop of Liège in 1951.The basilica is best known for the 14th century statue of Virga Jesse, which is paraded through the streets of Hasselt every seven years.

The Battle of Hasselt was fought on 8 August 1831 during the Ten Days' Campaign. It was an important defeat for the outnumbered Belgian Army of the Meuse and a victory for the Dutch invasion force.

The Diocese of Hasselt (Latin: Dioecesis Hasseletensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Belgium. Comprising the whole of Belgian Limburg, the diocese was created in 1967 out of the Diocese of Liège. It is a suffragan in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels. The cathedra is found within St. Quentin's Cathedral in Hasselt.

Hasselt railway station (Dutch: Station Hasselt, French: Gare d'Hasselt) is a railway station in Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium. The station opened on 24 October 1843 and it is located at 21 Stationsplein (Station Square). It is served by railway lines 15, 21, 21A, 34 and 35. The train services are operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS/SNCB).

The Japanese Garden of Hasselt is a park in the Belgian city of Hasselt. Designed in the traditional 17th-century style, it was donated to the Belgian city by the city of Itami. It is the largest Japanese garden in Europe.

Park H in Hasselt, Belgium is one of the biggest event complexes in the Benelux. The first halls, the Grenslandhallen, were built in 1983. In 2002 one of the first halls has been transformed into a congress theatre for musicals, concerts, ... up to 5000 people. In 2004 the complex has been extended with the "Ethias Arena" (now Trixxo Arena), the biggest arena in Belgium, for more than 21,000 people.In 2018, the Grenslandhallen, were renamed to Park H. The whole complex has now a surface of almost 35,000 square metres. Park H includes halls from 400 square metres up to more than 13,000 square metres: Trixxo Arena Trixxo Theater Expo Hasselt Versuz (dancing) Jumpsquare (trampoline park) The Park Playground (virtual reality park) Plopsa Indoor (theme park) Area V (multipurpose hall) Crudo (restaurant)In the end of 2005, Plopsa Indoor Hasselt opened next to the Grenslandhallen. Plopsa Indoor Hasselt is an indoor attraction park for children.

The Trixxo Arena is the largest multipurpose arena in Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium used for music concerts, sports (tennis, indoor cycling, jumping, etc.) and other large events. It opened in September 2004 at a total construction cost of €11.7 million. The arena complex can hold up to around 21,000 people, with the Main Hall holding a maximum of 18,000.The Trixxo Arena is a part of Park H and the complex has a surface of 25,000 square metres (270,000 sq ft), with the Main Hall covering 13,600 square metres (146,000 sq ft). At the end of 2005, "Plopsa Indoor Hasselt", an indoor attraction park for children, opened next to the arena and is unique in Belgium. Until 25 August 2021, the Trixxo Arena was known as the Ethias Arena.

Kiewit is a railway station in Kiewit, close to the city of Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium. The station opened on 28 May 1974 and is located on line 21A. The station was closed on 3 June 1984 and reopened on 28 May 1989. The train services are operated by National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS). The station was opened close to the location of the Philips factory in an attempt to reduce the congestion caused by people travelling to work at the factory by car. The station is also used by students travelling to nearby schools and people travelling to the Pukkelpop music festival.
