Loch Sheldrake Synagogue is a historic synagogue on NY 52, north of the junction of NY 52 and Loch Sheldrake Road in Loch Sheldrake, Sullivan County, New York. It was built between 1922 and 1930 of buff-colored brick on a concrete foundation, three bays wide and five bays deep. It is surmounted by a steep gable roof and features a projecting, stepped-gabled entrance pavilion with a limestone parapet.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.The synagogue is open for daily prayer services in the Summer and prays according to the Ashkenazi custom. The spiritual leader of the synagogue during the summer is Rabbi Rashi Shapiro.

Stagedoor Manor is a performing arts training center located in Loch Sheldrake, New York. Since its opening, it has trained thousands of young actors, many of whom have gone on to success in film, television, and theater. Stagedoor Manor is located in a former Catskills Borscht Belt resort (Karmel Hotel) in Loch Sheldrake, New York that was redesigned in the 1970s. The camp consists of a variety of theatre spaces, including the Carousel, the Cabaret, the Forum, the Merman, and the outdoor Garden Theatre. The four largest theaters are the 350-seat Carl and Elsie Samuelson Theatre, the 250-seat Jack Romano Playhouse, the Oasis Theatre (a theatre-in-the-round), and the new Forum Theatre.

The community was originally named Sheldrake Pond after a deep, glacially formed pond, which forms the center of town. It is bordered by the hamlet of Hurleyville, the Town of Liberty, the hamlet of Hasbrouck, the hamlet of Divine Corners, and the hamlet of Woodbourne. The commercial center of Loch Sheldrake is the intersection of County Road 104 and NYS Route 52, at the edge of Sheldrake Pond. In its heyday as a Catskills Borscht Belt resort it was home to numerous hotels, bungalow colonies and boarding houses. Some of the best known of these were the Brown's Hotel, where comedian Jerry Lewis worked; the Evans Hotel; and the Karmel Hotel, now Stagedoor Manor, a renowned performing arts summer camp. It is also the home of Sullivan County Community College and the Lochmor Golf Course.Congregation Adath Israel, the Loch Sheldrake Synagogue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. The Synagogue is open in the summer and for the High Holidays, under the leadership of Rabbi Dr. Rashi Shapiro. In 2012, a year-round Hasidic community was founded in Loch Sheldrake, in Town and Country Estates, with a synagogue, mikvah, a boys cheder, and a girls nursery school.

Brown's Hotel was a nationally known resort complex located in the Borscht Belt area of upstate New York, in the Catskill Mountains. It was one of the largest and most elaborate establishments of its kind during an era when the entire region prospered as a tourist destination. From the 1940s to the 1980s, the hotel was a popular vacation destination for many upper-middle-class families living in the New York City metropolitan area. Jewish-American families were welcomed and even catered to specifically by the hotels in the Borscht Belt during a time period when anti-semitism was prevalent in the hospitality industry. Filling a niche, the area quickly became a mecca for Jewish-American families. Brown's Hotel was located in the hamlet of Loch Sheldrake in the Town of Fallsburg, Sullivan County, New York.

Grossinger's Catskill Resort Hotel was a resort in the Catskill Mountains in the Town of Liberty, near the village of Liberty, New York. One of the largest Borscht Belt resorts, it was a kosher establishment that catered primarily to Jewish clients from New York City. After decades of activity and notable guests, it closed in 1986. Most of the buildings on site had been demolished by 2018, however a few remained in decrepit condition, and were destroyed in a fire in 2022. A feature documentary about the resort is being produced and scheduled for release in early 2024 by Executive Producers Harris Salomon of Atlantic Overseas Pictures Television and Robert Friedman of Bungalow Entertainment.[1]

Yeshiva Gedolah Zichron Moshe, also known as Yeshiva of South Fallsburg, is a private yeshiva in South Fallsburg, New York. It is considered one of the leading beit midrash (undergraduate-level) programs in the United States, maintaining a "steady" enrollment of approximately 200 students. As an Orthodox rabbinical college, all students are male. Known colloquially as "Fallsburg", its students come from all over the United States, Europe and Israel. Following a stint in Fallsburg, students usually spend time in Israel, ideally in one of the many Brisker institutions there. Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Brisk in Jerusalem, is known to accept a high percentage of Fallsburg's graduates. The yeshiva is accredited by the Association of Advanced Rabbinical and Talmudic Schools, and offers the bachelor's degree as well as first professional certification.

Neversink Reservoir is a reservoir in the New York City water supply system. It is located in the Catskill Mountain town of Neversink in Sullivan County, New York, 75 miles (120.6 km) northwest of the City. It is fed by the Neversink River, the longest tributary of the Delaware River. Water collected in the reservoir in turn goes through the Neversink Tunnel a short distance east to Rondout Reservoir to be pooled with that from Pepacton and Cannonsville reservoirs which form the west-of-the-Hudson River components of the Delaware Aqueduct. Together, they provide nearly half of the city's daily consumption.

Center Theatre, also known as the Woodbourne Theater, is a historic theatre located at Woodbourne in Sullivan County, New York. It was built in 1938 and is a three bays wide, two stories tall Art Deco structure. It is three time longer than it is wide and has a large auditorium behind the entrance pavilion. The entrance pavilion consists of the facade, foyer, and lobby.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

B'nai Israel Synagogue is a historic synagogue on NY 52 in Woodbourne, Town of Fallsburg, Sullivan County, New York. The first rabbi of the synagogue was David Isaac Godlin (1868-1943). It was built in 1920 and is a two-story building above a shallow concrete basement. It is a wood-frame structure, three bays wide by four bays deep and surmounted by a steep gable roof with deep wooden cornice.In the spring of 2010 Mordechai Jungreis, Rebbe of the Nikolsburg-Woodbourne Hasidic dynasty, began using the synagogue. Jungreis, who has a synagogue in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, has attracted a large following of Jews. Services take place there all day long from early morning to past midnight. The synagogue was initially used during the summer months, from Memorial day to Labor Day, when Sullivan County sees a large influx of Jewish vacationers. After COVID more people began using the synagogue during the year and now it is currently open all year long. Check the schedule of services during the winter months as Minyan is not as common as during the summer. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Woodbourne is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in the town of Fallsburg in Sullivan County, New York, United States. Woodbourne is bordered by the town of Neversink, the hamlet of Grahamsville, the hamlet of Loch Sheldrake, the hamlet of Old Falls and the hamlet of Hasbrouck. The major thoroughfares of Woodbourne are New York State Routes 42 and 52. The center of the hamlet is where the two highways briefly overlap and cross the Neversink River. Woodbourne is in the Catskills Borscht Belt and in its heyday was home to many summer hotels, bungalow colonies and boarding houses, which are mainly uninhabited throughout most of the calendar year. To this day, the population of Woodbourne and nearby areas increases dramatically each summer with an influx of Orthodox Jewish residents from New York City, New Jersey and other surrounding Jewish population centers. With this, the local economy expands in the warmer months as locally owned small businesses thrive until approximately Labor Day Weekend, marking the typical end of summer.

Woodbourne Reformed Church Complex is a historic Dutch Reformed church complex on NY 42 in Woodbourne, Sullivan County, New York. The complex consists of a church, chapel, and cemetery. The church was built in 1837 and enlarged in 1848. It is of heavy timber frame construction with clapboard siding. It started as a small frame meeting house, with a later 18 foot addition. The addition included the Greek Revival, temple form facade featuring Doric order columns and two stage bell tower with tall spire. The current tower dates to 1893. Also on the property is a chapel, built in 1849 as a public school and purchased by the church in 1891, and a cemetery.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Kutsher's Hotel and Country Club in Thompson, Sullivan County, near Monticello, New York, was the longest running of the Borscht Belt grand resorts in the Catskill Mountains region of New York State. While the region was open to any and all visitors, the Borscht Belt was so named due to the largely Jewish-American clientele that made the Catskills the primary vacation destination for Jews in the northeastern United States. Over the decades, performers such as David Brenner, Jerry Seinfeld, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Woody Allen and Joan Rivers appeared here. Rapper Ditch played here in 2012 as the final headlining set of the NY Harvest Festival, which had over 4,000 people watching. In 2013, a woman fell to her death from the hotel rooftop of the hotel preparing for the 2013 NY Harvest Festival, which halted it and anything going forward at the hotel again. The hotel closed in 2013, and some of the buildings were demolished in 2014; only three remained as of early 2020. The site was sold, and a wellness resort was built there, opening in June 2018.
