Velim Assembly constituency is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly constituencies of the state of Goa in southern India. Velim is also one of the 20 constituencies falling under the South Goa Lok Sabha constituency and includes villages and towns like Velim, Assolna, Ambelim, Chinchinim and Sao Jose de Areal.

Cutbona (Konkani: Kutbonn), is a village subdivision located within the Velim village, neighbouring Betul. It is situated in the Salcete taluka and falls under the South Goa district, in the Indian coastal state of Goa. It is about 17 km (11 mi) away from the Margao city. It is famous for its fishing jetty known as the Cutbona fishing jetty, which is South Goa's largest fishing hub, where over 300 trawlers operate. It is also a part of the Velim Assembly constituency.

It is situated in the Salcete taluka and falls under the South Goa district, in the Indian coastal state of Goa. It is about 18 km (11 mi) away from the Margao city and is also a part of the Velim Assembly constituency. It is famous for the Miraculous Cross located atop the hill known as the Baradi Holy Cross, the feast of the cross is celebrated on 3 May, every year.

Ambelim (Konkani: Ambelle) is a large village that's located within the Salcete taluka and falls under the South Goa district. It shares its border with Velim and Assolna villages. The village has a predominant population from the fishing and scheduled tribe communities and has a population of about 3500 residents in seven wards.

Betul is a coastal village located in the Salcete taluka, South Goa district, Goa, India. It is the southernmost village of Salcete and is well-known for its beach, lighthouse, and fort. It is lies about an hour south from Margao. The Sal river drains into the Arabian sea near Betul.

Assolna (Osollnnem) is a big village in the Salcete taluka of South Goa district, in the state of Goa, India. It is known for restaurants, ferry, the small traditional market, and local institutions. The Sal river flows through this village.

St. Anthony's High School was an aided co-educational school that provided primary and secondary education. It was located in Assolna village, adjacent to Regina Martyrum High School in the Indian coastal state of Goa. The school opened in 1921 and was established on August 28, 1964. However, it has been closed since the 2000s.

Regina Martyrum High School is a private aided co-educational school located within the Assolna village in Salcete taluka of Goa. It is administered by the Diocesan Society of Education, Panjim. The school is associated with the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and the Directorate of Education, Goa. It prepares students for Std. X (S.S.C) examination. The first batch of S.S.C had appeared in March 1974.
