Nowe Miasto (lit. 'New Town') is a municipal neighbourhood of the city of Szczecin, Poland, situated on the left bank of Oder river, in Śródmieście (Centre) District. It borders Turzyn to the west, Śródmieście-Zachód, Centrum and Stare Miasto to the north, Międzyodrze-Wyspa Pucka to the east, and Pomorzany to the south. As of January 2011 it had a population of 8092.

The Szczecin Voivodeship was a voivodeship (province) with capital in Szczecin, that was centered on the Farther Pomerania. It existed from 1946 to 1975. Until 19 February 1947 it was under the administration of Provisional Government of National Unity, which then was replaced by the Polish People's Republic. It was established on 28 June 1946, when it was formed from the territory of the District of the Western Pomerania, and parts of the Gdańsk, and Pomeranian Voivodeships. On 6 July 1950, its eastern half was incorporated into then-established Koszalin Voivodeship, and the voivodeship ceased to exist on 31 May 1975, when it was replaced by then-established Szczecin and Gorzów Voivodeships.

The Szczecin Voivodeship was a voivodeship (province) of the Polish People's Republic from 1975 to 1989, and the Third Republic of Poland from 1989 to 1998. Its capital was Szczecin, and it was centered on the western Farther Pomerania. It was established on 1 June 1975, from the part of the Szczecin Voivodeship, and existed until 31 December 1998, when it was incorporated into then-established West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The Pomeranian Library (Polish: Książnica Pomorska), in full Stanisław Staszic Pomeranian Library (Polish: Książnica Pomorska im. Stanisława Staszica) is a Regional Library based in Szczecin (formerly Stettin), Poland. It is the largest humanities oriented library in West Pomerania, with a focus on social sciences, Pomeranian, Scandinavian and German subjects and Seamanship. The library possesses also general scientific reading room with books from other fields of science, including mathematics, natural and medical sciences.

The Hotel Metropole in Szczecin was a hotel, which was located at the corner of today's Holy Spirit Street and Podwale streets, in the Old Town, in the Centre district. It was destroyed in the Second World War.

Pomeranian Medical University (PMU) was established in 1948 in Szczecin, Poland. It is referred to as Pomorski Uniwersytet Medyczny in Polish.

Brama Portowa I (Polish pronunciation: [ˈbrãma pɔrˈtɔva ˈjɛdɛ̃n]) is an A-class office building located in the quarter bounded by Niepodległości Avenue, Wyszyński Street and Tkacka Street, in the Old Town, in the Śródmieście district. Brama Portowa I earned a LEED Gold certification.

Szczecin Cathedral, in full the Archcathedral Basilica of St James the Apostle (Polish: Bazylika archikatedralna św. Jakuba Apostoła), is a Gothic cathedral located in Szczecin, Poland and seat of the Archdiocese of Szczecin-Kamień. Built in the 12th-14th centuries, it is the second tallest church in Poland, the largest church in the region of Western Pomerania, and one of the most distinctive landmarks of the Szczecin Old Town.

The Archdiocese of Szczecin-Kamień (Latin: Sedinen(sis) – Caminen(sis)) is an archdiocese located in the cities of Szczecin and Kamień Pomorski in Poland. With 24,3% of its population attending church services weekly or more in 2013 it is the least devoutly religious diocese in Poland.

The Statue of Flora in Szczecin is a baroque monument to Flora, a goddess of flowers and spring, located at White Eagle Square (Polish: Plac Orła Białego) in Szczecin (the Old Town). The statue was made of sandstone around 1730 by German sculptor Johann Georg Glume to a design by Johann Konrad Koch. The sculpture group consists of Flora holding a basket of flowers, along with a putto on either side: one climbing on a horn of plenty; one sitting by another basket of flowers. It was destroyed during the Second World War and restored in 1953.

The Szczecin Art Academy (Polish: Akademia Sztuki w Szczecinie) is a public university in Szczecin, Poland, founded on September 1, 2010. The profile of the university includes both music and visual arts with programmes offered in two different art disciplines. It consists of 4 faculties with BA and MA courses.

The Old Town Hall in Szczecin (Polish: Ratusz Staromiejski w Szczecinie, German: Altes Rathaus Stettin) is the present day town hall in the old town district. It was built for the municipal government in the 15th century. Today it is used as a history museum.
