Martin's Point Bridge

The Presumpscot River () is a 25.8-mile-long (41.5 km) river located in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. It is the main outlet of Sebago Lake. The river provided an early transportation corridor with reliable water power for industrial development of the city of Westbrook and the village of South Windham.

Martin's Point is a promontory in Portland, Maine, United States. It is located on the southern side of the Presumpscot River, at its confluence with Casco Bay, in the East Deering neighborhood of the city. The point is connected to Mackworth Point, in Falmouth Foreside on the northern side of the river, by the Martin's Point Bridge, which carries vehicular and pedestrian traffic of U.S. Route 1 (named Veranda Street on the southern approach). There has been a crossing at this location since 1828; the current bridge was completed in 2014.Martin's Point Health Care occupies the location today.

The Marine Hospital is a historic medical facility at 331 Veranda Road (United States Route 1) on Martin's Point in Portland, Maine. Built in the late 1850s to a design by Ammi B. Young, it is the only known surviving Marine Hospital (a federal facility for treating seamen) of the period to retain original iron railings. The building is now part of the Portland campus of the Martin's Point Health Care medical practice. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Mackworth Point is a promontory in Falmouth Foreside, Maine, United States. It is located on the northern side of the Presumpscot River, at its confluence with Casco Bay, and it shares its name with Mackworth Island, located a short distance away. Both are named for Arthur Mackworth, deputy to Sir Ferdinando Gorges.The point is connected to Martin's Point, in Portland, on the southern side of the river, by the Martin's Point Bridge, which carries vehicular and pedestrian traffic of U.S. Route 1. There has been a crossing at this location since 1828; the current bridge was completed in 2014.Andrews Avenue connects Mackworth Point to Mackworth Island via a causeway.

Mackworth Island is an approximately 100-acre (40 ha) island in Casco Bay, Maine, United States. Politically, it is part of the town of Falmouth, which is adjacent to Portland. In 1631, Sir Ferdinando Gorges, who first attempted to colonize Maine, gifted the island to Arthur Mackworth, his deputy in Casco Bay, and the island has retained his name. A causeway, which carries the traffic of Andrews Avenue, connects the island to Mackworth Point on the mainland. Visitors to the island must pass a state park entrance tollhouse and pay an entrance fee; cars can enter the island, but parking is limited. There is a footpath around the perimeter of the island with views of Falmouth, Portland, and other islands surrounding the bay. The island is heavily wooded and one portion of those woods is dedicated to “Fairy Houses” which are constructed by visitors using natural materials found on the island. Mackworth Island has a beautiful rocky shore and offers ample opportunities for surf fisherman of Bluefish and Stripers. Although most areas of the island are State Park lands, there is a school area that is not open to the public. The island is also home to the Governor Baxter Dog Memorial, a pet cemetery where fourteen of the former governor's Irish Setters and one of his horses were laid to rest, accompanied by two bronze markers and a gravestone, all enclosed by a circular stone wall.

The Baxter Summer Home is a historic house on Mackworth Island, in Casco Bay off the coast of Falmouth, Maine. Now a centerpiece of the campus of the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf, the house was built in 1917–18 by James Phinney Baxter, and was given (along with the rest of the island) to the state by his son Percival, a two-term Governor of Maine best known for establishing Baxter State Park. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

WMGX (93.1 MHz "Coast 93.1") is a commercial FM radio station in Portland, Maine. The station's coverage area reaches across most of Southern Maine and into portions of Southeastern New Hampshire. WMGX airs an Adult Top 40 radio format and is owned by Saga Communications. Studios and offices are on Western Avenue in South Portland. WMGX has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts. The transmitter is off Presumpscot Street in Portland, near Interstate 295. WMGX broadcasts in the HD Radio hybrid format; the HD2 subchannel carries the talk radio programming of sister station WGAN, while the HD3 subchannel carries the Bible Broadcasting Network's Christian radio programming, which feeds FM translator W286CU at 105.1 MHz in Saco, Maine.

The Governor Baxter School for the Deaf (GBSD), formerly known as the Maine School for the Deaf is a public co-educational school that serves the deaf and hard-of-hearing in the State of Maine. It is located on Mackworth Island, an approximately 100-acre (40 ha) island in Falmouth, Maine, USA, adjacent to its border with Portland, Maine. Students who live far away may stay with host families, who provide residential services. Its program is the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MECDHH).

Gilsland Farm is a historic property in Falmouth, Maine, United States. In the early 19th century, Silas Noyes built a home on the land, formerly the home of the Wabanakis, a few yards from the eastern banks of the Presumpscot River. The home still stands today, now owned by Maine Audubon. It is known as the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center.

The Grand Trunk Cemetery also known as (Back Cove Cemetery or East Deering Cemetery) is a small inactive cemetery in the East Deering neighborhood of Portland, Maine. Established around 1793, the cemetery was the burial ground for those who lived in the area until 1898 when it was declared inactive. It is now located behind Presumpscot Elementary School and is bordered to the east by main line of the Grand Trunk Railway. Largely forgotten for decades, community members began reclaiming the space and it was officially re-dedicated in 2014.

The B&M Baked Beans factory is an historic cannery building in Portland, Maine, USA. The building was constructed in 1913 in the East Deering neighborhood by the Burnham & Morrill Company. Baked beans were produced in the building until 2021. The building is a prominent landmark highly visible from Interstate 295. It is located at 1 Beanpot Circle.

The Thomas Skelton House is an historic house at 124 United States Route 1 in Falmouth, Maine. Built in around 1798 in Portland, it is a well-preserved example of Federal style architecture. It was moved to its present site in 1971 to avoid demolition. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 7, 1973.
