Crans-Montana is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. On 1 January 2017 the former municipalities of Chermignon, Mollens, Montana and Randogne merged to form the new municipality of Crans-Montana.Crans-Montana is also a ski resort that was created through the fusion of the two centres of Crans and Montana and belonged to six municipalities (Chermignon, Icogne, Lens, Mollens, Montana and Randogne), four of which merged to form the municipality of Crans-Montana.

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1987 were held in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, from 27 January to 8 February 1987.The alpine world championships included Super-G for the first time; it was first run on the World Cup level four seasons earlier, in December 1982. The host Swiss team won eight gold medals out of ten, including all five women's events.

The ruins of the rock castle called Fairy Rock (French: Rocher des Fées) are located in the municipality of Crans-Montana, Valais, Switzerland, between Mollens and Aminona, more precisely in a rock face at the hamlet Les Echerts. The ruins are rather well preserved, and can be easily admired from nearby. Due to its location in the rock, however, accessing the inside is difficult. The rock castle was built at the end of the 12th century, and was probably used as a refuge during the wars and raids of that period. This rock castle is registered in the Swiss inventory of cultural property under the name Roches des Fées. It should not be confused with the Cave of the Fairies (French: Grotte aux Fées) near Saint-Maurice, in lower Valais.
