Greenbrier, Virginia

Greenbrier Mall is a nearly 900,000 sq ft (84,000 m2) regional mall in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. The mall has a hillside terrain, with entries on both upper and lower levels. It serves communities on the east coast in the states of Virginia and North Carolina.The mall currently has 114 retailers, three anchors (Dillard's, JCPenney, and Macy's with one vacant anchor last occupied by Sears), several eateries at the mall's food court, including Chick-fil-A, several restaurants including Abuelo's, Olive Garden, Red Robin, Black Pelican Seafood, and Cinema Café dinner movie theater.

On November 22, 2022, Andre Marcus Bing killed six co-workers and injured four others before killing himself, in retaliation for perceived workplace harassment at the Walmart Supercenter where he worked as a night-supervisor in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. Bing's suicide note cited concern he was being "led by Satan" and asking forgiveness - while also mentioning cancer treatments and loneliness.

Indian River High School is a high school in Chesapeake, Virginia. As of the 2018-19 school year, it had approximately 1700 students.

Chesapeake Arboretum (48 acres) is a non-profit arboretum located at 624 Oak Grove Road, Chesapeake, Virginia. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum was established in 1996, and currently consists of a mature hardwood forest with good trail system, farmhouse, and theme and demonstration gardens. The Chesapeake Arboretum trail system is approximately 45 acres and is some 3.5 miles (5.6 km) in total length. A perennial stream, Starr Run, runs through the trail system and is crossed by 11 bridges.

Regent University is a private Christian university in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was founded by Pat Robertson in 1977 as Christian Broadcasting Network University and changed its name to Regent University in 1990. Regent offers on-campus programs as well as distance education. Bethany Baptist Church of South Norfolk, Virginia is a prominent Black church in Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA. Founded in the late 1950s to early 1960s, it has since had a major influence on the local black community and others. It has become one of the largest churches in the Hampton Roads area.

Virginia Beach Theological Seminary is a private evangelical Christian seminary in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was founded in 1995 as Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Virginia Beach and only offers graduate degrees.

Greenbrier Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Christian school located in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake, Virginia. It was founded in 1983.

Tallwood High School is a secondary school in southwest Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was built on the site of an old colonial plantation whose manor house was Tallwood, hence the name of the school. Tallwood was remodeled during 2004–2005. One of the school's most remarkable features is the Global Studies and World Languages Academy. It's one of several magnet programs in Virginia Beach. Students throughout the city interested in a studying global issues and foreign languages can apply.

South Norfolk was an independent city in the South Hampton Roads region of eastern Virginia and is now a section of the city of Chesapeake, one of the cities of Hampton Roads which surround the harbor of Hampton Roads and are linked by the Hampton Roads Beltway.

Oak Grove United Methodist Church is located in Chesapeake, Virginia, and is known as "the mother of all Methodist congregations in Hampton Roads". It has helped found four other Methodist churches in the area: Community United Methodist, Great Bridge United Methodist, Messiah United Methodist, and Oaklette United Methodist It is located on the corner of North Battlefield and Great Bridge boulevards, and was the fourth Methodist church established in the Northampton County. The church's history dates back to the 1700s, and since then the church has established a wide variety of ministries and has been declared a historical structure. The church follows Methodism, a movement started by John Wesley in an effort to reform the Church of England from within.
