The Diocese of Sioux City (Latin: Diœcesis Siopolitanensis) is the Latin Church diocese for the northwestern quarter of the state of Iowa in the United States. It is a suffragan see of the Archdiocese of Dubuque. The cathedral parish for this diocese is the Epiphany and the see city is Sioux City. The Diocese of Sioux City comprises 24 counties in northwestern Iowa, covering 14,518 square miles (37,600 km2). Reverend R. Walker Nickless was ordained as bishop of Sioux City on January 20, 2006.

The Rose Hill Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. At the time of its nomination it contained 217 resources, which included 132 contributing buildings 84 non-contributing buildings, and one non-contributing site. The district is located within the larger Rose Hill Addition, which was laid out by a group of Sioux City entrepreneurs in 1884. It includes many mansions built for the wealthy from about 1890 to 1910, most of which were later divided into apartments. The Elzy G. Burkam House (1894) and adjacent garage are contributing properties. It also included a 125-year-old house at 1529 Grandview Boulevard which was demolished in 2015 after a long controversy about historic preservation.

The Elzy G. Burkam House is a historic house located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. Built in 1894, it is an example of a transitional house between the revival styles popular in the 19th century and the Colonial Revival style that became popular in the early 20th century. The 2½-story brick and frame house was designed by Sioux City architect William D. McLaughlin. Its asymmetrical form was more common in the Colonial Revival style in the 1890s than it was after 1900. The house features round arch windows from the Romanesque Revival style, deep eaves with exposed rafters from the Stick Style, and it is capped with a hip roof with a dormer. The exterior of the first is covered with brick, while the second floor is covered with Clapboard. A conservatory dominates the south elevation. The house was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998,. In 2005 it was included as a contributing property in the Rose Hill Historic District in 2005.

The First Congregational Church, also known as Iglesia Pentecostes Evangelica Principe de Paz, is a house of worship located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. An architectural rarity, it is one of a small group of churches in the Prairie School style of architecture. Designed primarily in the Prairie style with some eclectic touches by architect William L. Steele, its horizontal lines are emphasized by Roman brick and crisp rectilinear forms. Somewhat at variance are the distinctive dome and the prominent round heads on the windows. Fresh from his triumph with the Woodbury County Courthouse in collaboration with George Grant Elmslie, and drawing on lessons learned during that collaboration, Steele built the church in 1916–1918. This church and the courthouse are the only two Prairie style buildings that are known to have a dome. It was built for a Congregational church that had been established in Sioux City back in 1857, replacing a more traditional church that had burned down in 1916. In 1966, that congregation built a new structure on Hamilton Boulevard. First Congregational Church sold the building to Sioux City Baptist Church c. 1968. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 under that name. In 2009, Sioux City Baptist Church acquired a building on Viking Drive. Most recently, the building has become the Iglesia Evangelica Pentecostes Principe de Paz (Evangelical Pentecostal Church of the Prince of Peace), with services in Spanish aimed at the local Hispanic community. Due to the need for extensive building restoration and maintenance, the structure has been named to endangered building lists by at least two historic preservation groups.

The Atchison A. Ashby House is a historic building located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. Ashby was a local physician who had this house built in 1916. The Tudor Revival structure was designed by Omaha architect Frederick A. Henniger. It is possible that he designed four other houses on this same block of Summit Street. The five houses are all two-story brick structures that share a similar block-composition, and are capped with tile roofs. This house features faux half-timbering in some of the gable ends, a tall chimney with chimney pots at the top of the flue, and a red tile roof. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The high school building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The annex was added to the historic designation in 2016.

The Woodbury County Courthouse is located at 620 Douglas Street in Sioux City, the county seat of Woodbury County, Iowa, United States. It is regarded as "one of the finest Prairie School buildings in the United States" and has been declared a National Historic Landmark for its architecture. It is used for legal proceedings in the county.

Mount Sinai Temple is an historic former Reform synagogue located in Sioux City, Iowa, in the United States. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Sioux City Grain Exchange (SCGX) was a cash commodity market in Sioux City, Iowa that primarily traded corn, wheat, oat, and soybean. It was established in 1907 as the Sioux City Board of Trade, named the "fastest growing grain market in the world" in 1929, and among the largest exchanges in the world by the 1970s; transacting over 100 million bushels annually (valued at $1 billion as of 2018). It served the Corn Belt (primarily Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota) and primarily competed against the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Minneapolis Grain Exchange and Kansas City Board of Trade. SCGX's rise and decline was driven by barge navigation of the Missouri River and mirrored the Sioux City Livestock Exchange (Sioux City Stockyards), the largest in the world during the 1970s. Both were co-founded by Vermont banker Fred L. Eaton.
