Forest Hill, Ohio

The Warner and Swasey Observatory is the astronomical observatory of Case Western Reserve University. Named after Worcester R. Warner and Ambrose Swasey, who built it at the beginning of the 20th century, it was initially located on Taylor Road in East Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The observatory, which at that time housed a 9.5-inch (24 cm) refractor, was donated in 1919 to the Case School of Applied Science. The newer 24-inch (61 cm) Burrell Schmidt telescope was built in 1939. Due to rising light pollution in Cleveland, a new station in Geauga County's Montville Township was established in 1950s. Named after Jason John Nassau, the station initially housed the Burrell telescope, which was later moved to Kitt Peak National Observatory. Instead of Burrell the station was equipped with the 36-inch robotic telescope. In 2008 Nassau Station was sold to the Geauga Park District and subsequently incorporated into its Observatory Park. The observatory currently operates the old 9.5-inch refractor (now known as the rooftop telescope) at the university's University Circle campus, and the Burrell Schmidt telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona. The old site on Taylor Road was sold in 1983.

Forest Hill Park is an historic urban park that was a portion of John D. Rockefeller's estate, located in East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Two-thirds of the park lie in East Cleveland, and the remaining third is in Cleveland Heights. The 248-acre (1.00 km2) park has six baseball diamonds (four lit), six lit tennis courts and walking trails that have retained the natural green space as intended by John D. Rockefeller Jr., who deeded the park to the two cities in 1936. Albert Davis Taylor was the park's landscape architect. It is the largest single body of green space between two large metroparks on the far east and west sides of Cleveland.

Shaw High School is a public high school in East Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the East Cleveland City School District and serves approximately 630 students in grades 9 through 12. The current Shaw facility was constructed around 2007. Larry Ellis is the principal. Athletic teams are known as the Cardinals and the school colors are red and black.

The Dugway Brook Watershed is a nine-square mile basin in Cleveland, Ohio and its east side suburbs, which drains storm runoff into Dugway Brook which is a direct tributary feeding into Lake Erie. Dugway Brook is one of the six greater "bluestone brooks" of Cuyahoga County, also including Dean Brook, Euclid Creek, Nine-Mile Creek, Pepper Creek, Mill Creek and Doan Brook, and their watersheds which feed Lake Erie. All of the bluestone brooks, including Dugway Brook, are located in Bluestone Heights, a unique terrain area in Northeast Ohio's place between Appalachian Highlands and Central Lowlands. At the Bluestone Heights geographic center, Lyman Circle in Shaker Heights, is the singular source point for the six greater bluestone brooks.

East Cleveland is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 13,792 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb lying east and south of Cleveland and west of Cleveland Heights.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church of East Cleveland is a current and historic church in East Cleveland, Ohio. It was built in 1846, and it was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984 under the 'churches' category. It is credited to the firm of Coburn, Barnum, & Benes. The current occupants are a congregational church, the "Empowerment Church".

Nela Park is the headquarters of GE Lighting, a Savant company, and is located in East Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Nela Park is the first industrial park in the world, and was the site of most of the lighting breakthroughs of the last century. The institute was first organized by entrepreneurs Franklin Terry and Burton Tremaine of the National Electric Lamp Company. Development of the site was started in 1911 when the National Electric Lamp Association (NELA), formed by John Robert Crouse Sr, J.B. Crouse, and H.A. Tremaine in 1901, was dissolved and absorbed into General Electric. It was the first industrial park in the world, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The campus emulates a university setting, and the dominant architectural style is Georgian Revival. The 92-acre (370,000 m2) campus is home to GE's Lighting & Electrical Institute, which was founded in 1933. Each December, Nela Park features a world-famous Christmas lighting display, which culminates in a miniature version of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., designed by GE Lighting. During World War I, the Chemical Corps had a research station at Nela.

First Church of Christ in Euclid (also known as the First United Presbyterian Church of East Cleveland) is a historic church at 16200 Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland, Ohio. It was built in 1893 and added to the National Register in 1978.

Louis Stokes Station at Windermere is a rapid transit station on the RTA Red Line in East Cleveland, Ohio. It is located on the northwest side of Euclid Avenue (U.S. Routes 6 and 20) between Bryn Mawr and Doan Roads. It is the eastern terminus of the Red Line and the HealthLine, a bus rapid transit route.

Lutheran High School East, located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, is affiliated with the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). Its goal is to provide an "educationally rich experience in a Christ-centered environment". History of the school includes separating from the old Lutheran High School in downtown Cleveland (due to the construction of Interstate 90 and separating into Lutheran High School West and Lutheran High School East).

Cleveland Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 45,312 at the 2020 census. One of Cleveland's historical streetcar suburbs, it was founded as a village in 1903 and a city in 1921.

Shaw Stadium is a stadium in East Cleveland, Ohio, United States, mainly used for high school football. The stadium was built in 1923 and is home to the Shaw High School Cardinals football team and marching band.In 1938, the Cleveland Rams of the National Football League (NFL) played three of their four home games at Shaw, winning two and losing one. The Rams earned their first home NFL victory in franchise history with a defeat of the Detroit Lions, followed by a win over the Chicago Bears. Both Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University, which later merged to create Case Western Reserve University, used Shaw Stadium at various times for their home football field. The Case Tech Rough Riders used Shaw for home football games from 1939 to 1952. Case had previously played at Shaw in the 1920s for games against rival Western Reserve, who were known as the Pioneers at the time, playing there in 1923, 1925, and 1926. Western Reserve University, later known as the Western Reserve Red Cats, held occasional games at Shaw, but used it as their home field for the 1942, 1946, and 1950 seasons.
