Península Tijuana

Rio Alamar or Arroyo de Alamar is a river mainly in northern Baja California, Mexico with a small portion in California, United States. The riparian corridor that is the Alamar has a wooded area home to: riparian, aquatic and migratory birds, abundant species of fish, and amphibians. The wildlife and natural vegetation in the Arroyo Alamar was historically a vital resource for fishing, bathing, and even drinking. The stream is formed by the confluence of Cottonwood Creek and Tecate Creek a short distance north of the Mexico–United States border. It flows generally west for about 25 kilometres (16 mi) through the San Ysidro Mountains and the Tijuana urban area before joining with the Arroyo de las Palmas in central Tijuana, to form the Tijuana River. The Rio Alamar tributary makes up almost one third of the larger bi-national Tijuana River Watershed that spans approximately 1,750 square miles and impacts the lives of more than 1.4 million people. The major tributary as part of the Tijuana River Estuary has been deemed one of the 21 wetlands of international importance by the RAMSAR Convention.The Rio Alamar and the Tijuana River's Watershed is threatened by pollution and is the site of active rehabilitation and environmental justice efforts that are combined with urban planning in this region. The lack of proper planning and regulation that contaminated the flood plain has also induced binational collaborations due to the close proximity of the Arroyo to the United States. The pollution and the environmental injustices that threaten the Rio Alamar are a result of many long-standing and deep-rooted factors including: transnational and national policies, prioritizing profit-based land use processes, industrial pollution, underdeveloped urban infrastructure in Tijuana, exponential population growth and migration, and stark division created by the U.S.-Mexico border.The stream is formed by the confluence of Cottonwood Creek and Tecate Creek a short distance north of the Mexico–United States border. La Mesa prison is a penitentiary in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, near the Mexico–United States border. It is located in the La Mesa section of the city. Sister Antonia Brenner, a Catholic nun, lived with the inmates of La Mesa Prison for over thirty years, and was called "La mama" or the "Prison Angel."Famous Mexican musician Chalino Sanchez spent some time in this prison in 1984 on human smuggling charges. It is said that this is where his musical journey began. He began to compose songs for his fellow inmates and anyone that had a story worth telling.

La Mesa is a borough of the municipality of Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico. This is where Morelos Park, the largest public park in the city, is located, as well as the Plaza Mundo Divertido, the Macroplaza shopping center, and the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS) university. The public transportation hub and mass-market retail district Cinco y Diez, and the new (2022) Península mall and mixed-use complex, are both located in La Mesa.

La Cinco y Diez (lit. "The Five and Ten", also written "La 5 y 10"), is the name of an intersection, pedestrian overpass over that intersection, public transportation hub and major retail district in La Mesa borough, Tijuana, Mexico. Plaza Carrousel is a shopping mall in the La Mesa borough of Tijuana, anchored by Sears (formerly Dorian's), a Soriana supermarket (formerly Comercial Mexicana and way before Soriana again), Cinepolis multicinemas, and Sanborn's. The mall was built on the site of the former Cine Carrousel cinema. The area around the mall is a retail hub known as "Cinco y Diez" (Five and Ten), named after a former "five and dime" store located there.

Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez Moreno also known as Auditorio de Tijuana is an indoor arena in Tijuana, Mexico. It is primarily used for basketball and is the home field of the Tijuana Dragons and Galgos de Tijuana. It holds 4,500 people and was built in 1969.

Agua Caliente is a historic entertainment center and present-day district of Tijuana, Baja California, at the southeastern end of the Centro borough. The Agua Caliente Tourist Complex formed in the late 1920s along Agua Caliente Boulevard when a road was built that led from the historic Rio Zone to a natural hot springs two miles up the Tijuana River Valley. Paramount icons of Tijuana developed in Agua Caliente such as the Agua Caliente Casino and Hotel and the Agua Caliente Racetrack. Today Agua Caliente is one of Tijuana's paramount tourist centers, the location of some of the city's most affluent neighborhoods, and also contains commercial and other offices along Boulevard Agus Caliente.

The Estadio Caliente Xoloitzcuintles is a multi-use stadium in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, that is mostly used for football matches. The stadium hosts home matches for the football club Club Tijuana, who play in Liga MX, Mexico's top league. Estadio Caliente is also the home of the gridiron football team, Galgos de Tijuana, that competes in the LFA.

Tijuana International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Tijuana); officially Aeropuerto Internacional General Abelardo L. Rodríguez (General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport) (IATA: TIJ, ICAO: MMTJ), is an international airport located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of Downtown Tijuana. It serves Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, and the Metropolitan Area of San Diego-Tijuana, home to a population of five million inhabitants. The airport serves an extensive network of 42 domestic destinations including most of the major and secondary cities across Mexico. It is a hub for Volaris and a focus city for Viva Aerobus. Additionally, the airport houses facilities for the Mexican Air Force and supports cargo flights, tourism, flight training, and general aviation activities. Operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, the airport is named after General Abelardo L. Rodríguez, President of Mexico from 1932 to 1934. It is Mexico's westernmost airport and second-northernmost airport after Mexicali International Airport. Situated adjacent to the U.S. border, Tijuana Airport is the only geographically binational airport in the world, having direct access to its terminal from Mexico, and from its Cross Border Xpress (CBX) terminal in the United States. This unique feature allows passengers with a boarding pass to walk across a bridge crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. The CBX terminal handled 4,186,500 passengers in 2022, constituting approximately one-third of all passenger movements at Tijuana Airport.The airport ranks as the fourth busiest airport in Mexico for both passenger numbers and aircraft movements and holds the 12th position in Latin America and the 40th position in North America. It has witnessed significant growth, handling 8,925,900 passengers in 2019 and reaching 12,324,600 passengers in 2022, becoming the fifth airport in the country to surpass ten million passengers in a year.

The Caliente Hipódromo, formerly named the Agua Caliente Racetrack and the Agua Caliente Casino and Resort, is a resort and casino that includes a greyhound racing and former horse racing track in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The racetrack opened in December 1929 at a cost of $2.5 million, while the adjacent Agua Caliente Casino and Hotel had opened in June 1928, later going defunct.After the racetrack underwent renovations, the complex added the Estadio Caliente sports and concert stadium in 2007. Caliente Hipódromo is currently the largest branch of the Casino Caliente casino chain, and beyond the racetrack and arena, it houses a casino with race betting, hundreds of slot machines, a restaurant and a Starbucks café.

Morelos Park is an ecological reserve in Tijuana, Mexico. It has a zoo, and an artificial lake with different species of fish and ducks. It also has 11 kiosks and 10 green areas for family parties and a barbecue area, which are free to use. It has a small train for children and adults, with its route circling all the way around the lake. There is a dock with small boats in which visitors can take a walk by the lake. two playgrounds, and also houses Baja Paintball, a paintball business which rents paintball equipment and markers and allows people to use its game zones, pedestrian walkways, and bicycles. The playgrounds contain some mechanical rides, along with some normal playground equipment, such as swingsets and slides. Morelos Park was inaugurated on January 27, 1987, during the administration of Governor Xicoténcatl Leyva Mortera, passing to the municipal administration in 1998, when the decentralized organization called Municipal System of Thematic Parks of Tijuana (SIMPATT) was created.

Otay Centenario is a borough of the municipality of Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico. It is the result of a merger between the former boroughs of Mesa de Otay and Centenario which took place on January 1, 2014.The borough is located east of the Centro borough and the Zona Río; south of the U.S. border and San Diego's Otay Mesa neighborhood; and north of La Mesa. Tijuana International Airport, and many maquiladoras are located here. Main shopping centers are the Centro Comercial Otay and Plaza Americana Otay, which is located in front of Centro Comercial Otay. The area is noted as the second gastronomic hub of the city, with many restaurants. The former Centenario borough has the largest number of factories and maquiladoras in the city. Its largest neighborhood (colonia) is Ciudad Industrial ("Industrial City"). Three of the city's most important streets, Boulevard Bellas Artes, Boulevard Industrial and Mexican Federal Highway 2, are located here. Parque de la Amistad (not to be confused with Friendship Park at the border in Playas de Tijuana) is a large park in the borough.
