CF Market Mall is one of the largest malls (by area) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (900,490 square feet/83,658.3 m²). It is located in Varsity, a suburban neighbourhood in the city's northwest quadrant on Shaganappi Trail. The mall is jointly owned (50/50) by Cadillac Fairview and Ivanhoé Cambridge, two of Canada's largest real estate property managers and developers, but managed by the former.

Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) is the largest public hospital for sick children in the prairie provinces, and is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is operated by Alberta Health Services – Calgary Health Region. The new facility opened on September 27, 2006, and is the first free-standing pediatric facility to be built in Canada in more than 20 years. It was originally opened on May 19, 1922, as the Junior Red Cross Children's Hospital. It is located west of the University of Calgary campus grounds and just across from the site of the Foothills Medical Centre. ACH is one of several children's hospitals in Canada (others being Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada in Montreal, Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Sainte-Justine in Montréal, Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton, The Children's Hospital of Winnipeg in Winnipeg, Children's Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario, BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver and IWK Health Centre in Halifax).

University District is a neighbourhood in Calgary, Alberta. In 1995, the province transferred these lands, previously called the West Campus lands, to the University of Calgary. The University of Calgary Properties Group (UCPG), formerly West Campus Development Trust, was established to develop and manage University District. Homeowners hold subleasehold titles under 99-year leases, as the university is required to retain the fee simple title to the lands.

The Hart House, sometimes known as the Hart mansion, is a residence located in the Patterson Heights neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Once owned by Stu Hart, it was home to his extensive professional wrestling family for 52 years from October 1951 until Stu Hart's death in October 2003. While not built for them nor any longer under ownership of the Harts, the mansion continues to be referred to as the Hart House.During the ownership of the Hart family the mansion's basement was used as a training hall and wrestling school known as the Hart Dungeon, which produced many successful pro wrestlers. Besides the Hart family the mansion also housed many other wrestlers as well as an abundance of family pets and circus animals which were sometimes used in the Stampede Wrestling shows.The building has a large historical value for the wrestling industry and WWE recognized it as being as important and significant as Madison Square Garden. In 2012 the building was declared a heritage site by the city of Calgary.

Varsity is an established neighbourhood in the Northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It was developed in the 1960s and early 1970s on a plateau to the north of the Bow River valley, and is primarily composed of Single-detached dwellings on wide lots. The neighbourhood comprises three major areas: Varsity Acres, Varsity Village, and Varsity Estates. Varsity is bounded on the north and east by Crowchild Trail, on the west by the Bow River, and on the south by 32nd Avenue NW. It borders the neighbourhoods of Silver Springs and Bowness on the west side, and both Montgomery and the University of Calgary campus on the south side. The easternmost portion of Varsity contains the University of Calgary Research Park.

Calgary West was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 1953, and from 1979 to 2015. It was in the western part of the City of Calgary. The electoral district was originally created in 1914 from Calgary riding. It was abolished in 1952 with parts being transferred to Calgary North, Calgary South, Bow River and Red Deer ridings. It was re-created in 1976 from Calgary North, Calgary South, Calgary Centre, and Palliser ridings. It was abolished during the 2012 Canadian federal electoral redistribution into Calgary Signal Hill (58%), Calgary Rocky Ridge (25%), and Calgary Confederation (17%). From 1993 to 1997, Calgary West was represented by Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada from 2006 to 2015. Harper represented the nearby riding of Calgary Southwest as leader of the Opposition (from 2002) and prime minister (from 2006).

Patterson Heights is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by Sarcee Trail to the east and north, Bow Trail to the south, 69 Street to the west and Old Banff Coach Road to the south. Edworthy Park, developed in the Bow River valley, borders the community to the north and east across Sarcee Trail. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

CHFM's studios are located on 7th Avenue Southwest in Downtown Calgary, while its transmitter is located on Patina Hill Drive Southwest in West Calgary. CKWD-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 95.3 FM in Calgary, Alberta owned by Jim Pattison Group. The station broadcasts a country format branded as Wild 95.3. CKWD's studios are located on 58th Avenue Southwest in Calgary, while its transmitter is located on Old Banff Coach Road. The station is owned and operated by Jim Pattison Group who also owns sister station CKCE-FM. As of Winter 2020, CKWD is the 15th-most-listened-to radio station in the Calgary market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris.

Dale Hodges Park is a 40.4686 hectares (100.000 acres) natural environment urban park, stormwater treatment, and public artwork in northwest Calgary, Alberta—an expansion of Bowmont Park— where stormwater from eight northwest upstream residential communities flows slowly through "water structures and landforms" inspired by "natural river morphology as well as hydrologic and sedimentation processes" that serve as filters. The park, which is connected to the regional pathway, has a boardwalk, cycling and walking trails, the Nautilus Pond, a polishing marsh, a wet meadow, man-made streams, vantage points of the Bow River, and wildlife habitat.The $26.8 million project to "restore native riparian habitats" of the contaminated Klippert gravel pit, then known as the East Bowmont Natural Environment Park (NEP), began in 2010. It was completed in the fall of 2018 and officially opened to the public on June 26, 2019, following a ceremony in which Mayor Naheed Nenshi dedicated the park to Dale Hodges, in recognition of his many contributions to Calgary as the longest service member of council. Alderman Hodges was active for 30 years—from 1983 to 2013—"protecting and creating Calgary's green spaces".

Point Mckay is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by Bowness Road and to the south by the Bow River. Edworthy Park is located across the river, and is connected by a bridge to Point Mckay. It was part of the town of Montgomery before it was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1963.
