Weber County, Utah

North Ogden is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 20,916 at the 2020 census. North Ogden is on SR-235, three miles north of Ogden. It is a suburb of that city and is part of the Ogden-Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) is a state education agency of Utah that educates blind and deaf children. It includes a day and boarding school in Ogden, which houses the USDB headquarters, and sites in Salt Lake City and Springville.

Ogden–Weber Technical College (also referred to as OTECH, Ogden-Weber Tech or OWTC) is a public technical college in Ogden, Utah. It is one of the largest of the eight technical colleges within the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE). The college offers open-entry, open-exit, competency-based education targeted at technical skills and job placement (also called career and technical education). The college provides technical training in 30 different programs. Primary career clusters include Business and IT, Construction, Health, Manufacturing and Service occupations.

Ben Lomond High School is a comprehensive high school located in the Ogden City School District of Ogden, Utah, United States, currently educating students in grades 10–12. As of 2018, the principal is Steve Poll, his first year at Ben Lomond (2018/19).

Harrisville is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 5,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The current mayor is Michelle Tait.

Weber High School is a Utah secondary school located in Pleasant View, Utah, about five miles north of Ogden. It serves the residents of Pleasant View, North Ogden, Harrisville, Huntsville, Eden, and Liberty. It is part of the Weber School District and includes grades 10–12. The location of the original Weber High School was between 11th and 12th Street on the east side of Washington Boulevard in Ogden (the site of a current Shopko store and disco). In 1926, Weber County voters approved a bond for a county high school by a vote of 733 to 480. Construction of the building began in 1926 and was completed in 1927. Educators held school in the building in the fall of 1926, although the school was still under construction. In 1953-54 the school expanded with the addition of a new south wing.When the current campus opened in Pleasant View, the old building remained, until demolished in the mid-1980s. The current location of Weber High was established and opened in 1973 with an addition to the building in 1984. In the fall of 1994, the student population was split and half of the students went to the newly built Fremont High School. Their primary rivals are the Silver Wolves of Fremont High School, due to the close proximity of the two schools and the splitting of Weber in 1994 to build Fremont.

El Monte Golf Course Clubhouse is a historic building in Ogden, Utah. It was built in 1934–1935, and designed in the American Craftsman style by architect Eber F. Piers. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 1, 1985.

The Valasco Farr House, also known as the William Fife House, at 700 Canyon Rd. in Ogden, Utah, was built in 1887. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.It is a one-story cottage which was designed by architect William Wilson Fife in Queen Anne style.Fife was a brother-in-law of the original owner, Valasco Farr, who was son of Lorin Farr, the first mayor of Ogden. The house was built on a portion of property deeded to Lorin Farr by Ulysses S. Grant (why?).The house was the farmhouse of what was once a 3 acres (1.2 ha) farm.

Ben Lomond, just north of Ogden, Utah, is a peak in the northern portion of the Wasatch Mountains. A popular trail passes over its summit (elevation 9,716 feet (2,961 m)), accessible from four different trailheads to the north, south, and east. It is often referred to by locals as Ben Lomond Peak, Mt. Ben Lomond, and Ben Lomond Mountain. The usage Mount Ben Lomond is technically a redundancy as the prefix Ben, which is found in front of many Scottish mountains including Ben Lomond after which this mountain was named, actually means mount - Scottish mountains whose name begins Ben are never preceded by Mount. The USGS has it labeled as Ben Lomond on maps.Ben Lomond stands out along the Wasatch Front because the mountain range appears to run east and west along the Wasatch Range, while most mountains appear to run south and north. Two miles northwest of Ben Lomond is Willard Peak, with an elevation of 9,763 feet (2,976 m). Northwest of Willard Peak is Inspiration Point. A dirt road travels 14 miles (23 km) from Mantua, Utah to Inspiration Point. The road is usually not passable until July due to deep snow that resists melting due to the area's northern exposure. Atop Inspiration Point on a clear day, one can see Salt Lake City to the south, Willard Bay and the Great Salt Lake to the west, and the city of Logan, Utah to the northeast. From Inspiration Peak one can hike or bike to the summit of Ben Lomond, and then continue east to a trailhead on North Ogden Pass. The trail is listed as one of the top mountain bike rides in Utah. The distance from the North Ogden trailhead to the summit of Ben Lomond is approximately 9 miles (14 km). Ben Lomond was named after the mountain Ben Lomond in the Scottish Highlands. Mary Wilson Montgomery, an early settler, thought the mountain range resembled the Munro.According to some sources, the Paramount Pictures logo, known as Majestic Mountain, was modeled after Ben Lomond. It is said that William W. Hodkinson, the co-founder of Paramount and a native of the Ogden area, initially drew the image on a napkin during a meeting in 1914.
