Willaston, Cheshire West

Willaston Old Hall is a former manor house in the village of Willaston, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester, England. The building carries the date 1558, but both the authors of the Buildings of England series, and Figueirdo and Treuherz, argue that this date is too early for the architectural style of the house. Figueirdo and Treuherz are of the opinion that it was built in the early 17th century for Hugh Bennet. The house is constructed in red brick and stands on a red sandstone plinth. It has sandstone dressings and quoins, and a slate roof with stone ball finials. The entrance front is symmetrical, and consists of five bays, with three storeys. The central and the outer bays project forward and are gabled. The windows are mullioned and transomed. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Hadlow Road railway station is a Grade II listed heritage railway station and museum in Willaston, on the Wirral Way footpath. It has been restored to have the look and feel of the day the station was permanently closed to passengers in 1956. It has an authentic ticket office, waiting room and telephone box. Formerly the museum was a working railway station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway, on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire. The station is owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council, and Friends of Hadlow Road Station (FHRS) help to maintain and develop the station as a community resource.

Christ Church is in Neston Road, Willaston, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Wirral South, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Eastham Rake railway station is a railway station which serves the village of Eastham in Merseyside, England. It is situated on the Wirral Line of the Merseyrail network 8+1⁄2 miles (13.7 km) south west of Liverpool Lime Street.

Hooton railway station is situated in the south of the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. It lies on the Wirral Line 8 miles (13 km) north of Chester and 9+1⁄2 miles (15.3 km) south west of Liverpool Lime Street on the Merseyrail network, and is the junction of the branch from the Chester line to Ellesmere Port. It serves the villages of Hooton and Willaston. The station is midway between Junction 5 of the M53 motorway and Willaston village. It provides a major park and ride facility for Birkenhead, Liverpool and Chester, being convenient of access from north east Wales by the A550. The station car park contains compliant blue badge parking spaces; a variable height counter and new cycle parking were provided in 2007. Network Rail has installed a DDA compliant structure to replace the original footbridge, with lifts to all platforms; it was completed at the end of January 2011, making Hooton a wholly 'disabled friendly' station. An 'M to Go' shop was opened in March 2010. Improvements to the station also include new waiting rooms on platforms and fully accessible toilet facilities.

Raby Mere is a hamlet on the Wirral Peninsula, England. Adjacent to the Green Belt, woodland and open countryside, it is known for its mere, a lake that has been used for leisure purposes for many years. The hamlet of Raby is located two miles to the west. Since local government reorganisation on 1 April 1974, Raby Mere has been situated administratively within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. It is in the Clatterbridge Ward in the parliamentary constituency of Wirral South. At the time of the 2011 Census, Raby Mere, with its small residential area of exclusively detached homes, had a total population of 750.

Inglewood is a house to the north-west of the village of Ledsham, Cheshire, England. It was built in 1909, but is dated 1915. The house was built for Frederick H. Fox, a Liverpool millionaire who made his fortune in marine insurance. It was later one of the seats of the Gordon family. As of 2011 it is a hotel called Inglewood Manor Hotel. The house is mainly half-timbered, with stone dressings, and brick chimneys decorated with diapering. It is roofed with Lakeland slate. Its architectural style is late Arts and Crafts. The house has a rectangular plan, with three fronts in two and three storeys. The entrance is on the east front, which has eight bays; the south and west fronts each have five bays. On the south side is a balcony overlooking the gardens. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Also listed Grade II are the south and west terrace walls of the garden, and the east terrace walls and a pergola.

Bromborough railway station is one of two stations serving the town of Bromborough in Merseyside, England. The station is situated on the Chester and Ellesmere Port branches of the Wirral Line, part of the Merseyrail network.

Poulton Hall is a country house in Poulton Road, Poulton, an area to the south of Bebington, Wirral, Merseyside, England. The present hall was built in 1653 and was extended in the following centuries. It is built in pebbledashed brick with stone dressings and slate roof. Its contents include a three-manual pipe organ. In the grounds is a 17th-century former brewhouse that has a clock tower with a 32-bell carillon. The house and the brewhouse are both recorded in the National Heritage List for England as designated Grade II listed buildings. Musical concerts are held in the house, and the gardens, which contain 20th-century sculptures, are open to the public twice a year.

Marfords Park is a park located in Bromborough, Wirral, England. Marfords Park comprises 19,000 square metres (1.9 hectares; 4.7 acres) and consists of a small playground area (designed for children under 12) and a larger grassed area. It is popular with young families and dog-walkers. The park is almost entirely bounded by residential properties in Marfords Avenue, Cunningham Drive and Granville Crescent, with pedestrian access from Marfords Avenue and Cunningham Drive. Marfords Park is located within the Marfords Park Neighbourhood which has a Residents Association, the Marfords Park Neighbourhood Residents Association, which serves to represent the view of residents living within the Marfords Park Neighbourhood, bounded by Allport Road, the Wirral Line railway, Dibbinsdale Road and the Marfords Wood element of Brotherton Park and Dibbinsdale Local Nature Reserve (owned by the Lancelyn-Green family whose ancestral home has been Poulton Hall since 1093).Marfords Park, as much of the residential land in Poulton and Dibbinsdale area, occupies land formerly owned by the Lancelyn-Greens. However, in the case of Marfords Park the land was not sold by the Lancelyn-Greens but donated with a deed of covenant restricting its future use by Cheshire County Council.
