Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City (Arabic: مدينة الأمير فيصل بن فهد الرياضية) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, designed by architect Michael KC Cheah. It is currently used mostly for football matches. Named after Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, the stadium has a capacity of 22,500 people. Al-Hilal, Al Nassr and Al-Shabab play their matches in this stadium. In 1972, it hosted the opening ceremony for the Arabian Gulf Cup. In the 2011–2012 it became one of the first stadiums in the Kingdom to use electronic ticketing for the Saudi Football League.

King Abdullah Park (Arabic: ﻣﻨﺘﺰﻩ ﺍﻟﻤﻠﻚ ﻋﺒﺪﺍﷲ, romanized: Muntazah al-Malik ʿAbd Allāh), formerly Al-Malaz Square (Arabic: ميدان الملز), is an equestrian field-turned municipal park in the al-Malazz neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located adjacent to Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium. Covering an area of 31.8 hectares (79 acres), the square served as a horse racecourse from the early days of Saudi Arabia's unification until 2002, before being reopened as the largest public park in the country in 2013. Al-Malaz Square, as it was previously called, lent its name to the al-Malazz neighbourhood, which the park today forms a central part of. Popular for its 12-meter wide pedestrian corridor, 110-meter giant laser fountains and an artificial lake, the park gets flooded by visitors during festive seasons of Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and publicly organized events such as the Saudi National Day where the park also displays fireworks before midnight.

Al-Malazz (Arabic: حي الملز, romanized: ḥaī al-Malaz), formerly al-Riyadh al-Jadidah (lit. The New Riyadh) and the Red Sea neighborhood, is a commercial and residential neighborhood and the seat of the sub-municipality of its namesake, al-Malaz, in downtown Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Named after the al-Malaz Square (now King Abdullah Park), it was established in 1954 by King Saud bin Abdulaziz as a housing project for government employees and was later developed into a full-fledged district. The neighborhood has a large presence of overseas Syrian community alongside native Saudi nationals.It the very first modern locality in the city, alongside the al-Nassiriyah district, which replaced the vernacular Najdi architecture with a modern one. The area is also popular for hosting several iconic landmarks, supermarkets, streets and government ministries.

The Female Student Study Center – Al Malaz Branch (Arabic: مركز دراسة الطالبات – فرع الملز, romanized: Markaz Dirāsah aṭ-Ṭālibāt – Farʿ al-Malaz) was one of the three women-only satellite campuses of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in al-Malazz, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, active from 1984 to 2012.Established in 1984, the campus offered courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels in fields such as computer science, Islamic law, social science, human resource management and natural science. The students and faculty were relocated to the newly built King Abdullah City for Female Students in 2012 and thus, disbanding the campus.

Jarir (Arabic: جرير) or Jareer is an affluent residential neighborhood in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located west of al-Rabwah and east of al-Malaz in the sub-municipality of al-Malaz. The district is named after Umayyad-era Arab poet Jarir ibn Atiyah and emerged during the urbanization of Riyadh between the 1950s and 1970s. Jarir is a residential district in central Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, The neighborhood's origins can be traced back to the period 1958–1959 when the Jarir Street was built, which was named after Jarir ibn Atiyah. It hosts a number of private villas and is considered to be one of the most affluent neighborhoods of the city.

Riyadh railway station is the main railway station in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.It is located in the Sinaiyah Qadeem district, and is the western terminus of the Dammam–Riyadh Line. The station was designed by Italian architect Lucio Barbera in 1978 and was opened for public service in 1981. The station's design was inspired by the architecture of some mosques along the Mediterranean Sea. The building comprises the main lobby from which extends two wings. The wings, enclose the railway platforms. The roof is made from prefabricated, pre-stressed beams. The exterior is clad in local limestone. The style and decoration of the building use elements such as triangular openings to construct windows, arcades and parapets with rectangular steps, elements bearing a resemblance to Nejd architecture but also common in other Arab architecture. The station includes a main concourse, ticket area, and platform area.The stations in Riyadh, Dammam, and Hofuf were all designed by Lucio Barbera and share similar design.

Al-Alia International Indian School (AAIIS) (Arabic: مدرسة العالية الهندية العالمية) is a K–12 gender-isolated English-medium community-based private foreign school in the al-Malazz neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, primarily serving the Indian diaspora, mostly Malayalis. Established in 2003 by Indian politician and businessman Thomas Chandy, the school offers Indian curriculum prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, and is a member of the CBSE Gulf Sahodaya besides being approved by the country's Ministry of Education.

Jabal Abu Makhruq (Arabic: جبل أبو مخروق), or in Najdi vernacular pronunciation as Jabal Abo Makhrog and popularly known as Camel's Eye (Arabic: عين الجمل), is a conical limestone hill with a natural arch through it in the ad-Dhubbat neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With an elevation of approximately 50 meters, it is so named for a 7 to 8 meters wide, almost oval hole through the top of the hill that was formed due to erosion. It was mentioned in Yaqut al-Hamawi's 13th century work Kitāb Mu'jam al-Buldān as Jabal Kharba (Arabic: جبل الخربة) and was once a stopover for caravans arriving from Eastern Arabia en route to the walled town of Riyadh. The hill was once infamous among locals to be purportedly haunted by Jinns and demons.

Al-Dhubbat (Arabic: الضباط, lit. 'the officers') is a neighborhood in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located east of al-Wizarat and northwest of al-Malaz in the sub-municipality of al-Malaz. It is one of the most ancient neighborhoods of Riyadh, dating back to the time of Jabal Abu Makhruq. The current form of the neighborhood emerged in the 1970s as a housing development project for government officials employed in the Ministry of Defense and other agencies. The district later got named after them.

Shola Shopping Center (Arabic: مركز الشعلة التجاري, romanized: Markaz al-Šuʿalah al-Tiǧārī) was a shopping complex in the ad-Dhubbat neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Popular for its gold markets, it was one of the oldest shopping centers in the country's capital at the time of its launch in 1984. The complex was permanently closed in the aftermath of a fire-breakout in November 2012. It was founded and owned by the late Prince Mishaal bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, an influential royal, businessman, owner of Al Shoula Group and half-brother of the late King Fahd.

Al-ʽAmal (Arabic: العمل, lit. 'labor'), formerly al-Ghurabi (Arabic: الغرابي) and Shiʽab (Arabic: شعاب, lit. 'watercourse'), is a commercial and residential neighborhood situated along the al-Batʼha Street in downtown Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located north of Thulaim and east of al-Futah in the sub-municipality of al-Malaz. As the neighborhood is bounded by al-Batʼha Street to the west, its western strip partially forms part of the al-Batʼha commercial area.

The following is a timeline of the 2011–2012 Saudi Arabian protests from January to April 2011. The 2011–2012 Saudi Arabian protests are a series of ongoing protests taking place in Saudi Arabia, which began in January 2011, influenced by concurrent protests in the region. Protests started with a 65-year-old man's self-immolation in Samtah, Jizan on 21 January and protests of a few hundred people in late January in Jeddah and several times throughout February and early March in the cities of Qatif, al-Awamiyah, Riyadh, and Hofuf. A "Day of Rage" was planned for 11 March. One of the main organisers, Faisal Ahmed Abdul-Ahad (or Abdul-Ahadwas), was alleged to have been killed by Saudi security forces on 2 March, by which time one of the Facebook groups discussing the plans had over 26,000 members. On 11 March, several hundred people protested in Qatif, Hofuf and al-Amawiyah. Khaled al-Johani demonstrated in Riyadh despite a massive police presence, was interviewed by BBC Arabic Television, and has since then been detained in ʽUlaysha Prison. Al-Johani became known online as "the only brave man in Saudi Arabia".The Saudi Civil and Political Rights Association (ACPRA) and the Saudi organisation Human Rights First Society called for ACPRA co-founder Mohammed Saleh Albejadi to be released following his arbitrary arrest in Buraidah on 21 March by Mabahith, the internal security agency. In April, several small protests over labour rights took place in front of government ministry buildings in Riyadh, Ta'if and Tabuk. Protests, made up mainly of Shia protesters, continued in late March and April in Qatif and smaller cities in the Eastern Province such as al-Awamiyah, and Hofuf. The protesters called for the release of prisoners, for the Peninsula Shield Force to be withdrawn from Bahrain, for equal representation in key offices and for reforms in political positions, as they feel marginalised.In response to the 22–23 March announcement of men-only municipal elections in late September 2011 to elect half the members of local councils, women organised a Facebook women's suffrage campaign called "Baladi", stating that Saudi Arabian law gives women electoral rights. In April, women in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam tried to register as electors for the 22 September municipal elections despite officials stating that women could not participate.
