Mayfield Park is a public park in Manchester city centre, England, covering an area of 6.5 acres (2.6 ha). The city centre's first new public park in more than 100 years, it was officially opened on 22 September 2022 by Bev Craig, the Leader of Manchester City Council.

Oxygen Towers (also known as Oxygen) are a cluster of three individual but interlinked residential towers in Manchester, England. The 110 m (359 ft), 32-storey Tower 1 is the tallest element, with Towers 2 and 3 having 16 and 10 storeys respectively. The buildings were designed by 5plus Architects and Tower 1 is the 14th-tallest building in Greater Manchester as of 2023.

Manchester Mayfield is a former railway station in Manchester, England, on the south side of Fairfield Street next to Manchester Piccadilly station. Opened in 1910, Mayfield was constructed as a four-platform relief station adjacent to Piccadilly to alleviate overcrowding. In 1960, the station was closed to passengers and, in 1986, it was permanently closed to all services having seen further use as a parcels depot. After years of abandonment and many proposed development schemes, the station roof was dismantled in February 2013. The site was used for Manchester International Festival in July 2013.Manchester Mayfield railway station and the surrounding 6.2-acre (25,000 m2) site is the property of London and Continental Railways, the residual government-owned corporation and former partner in Eurostar International.

Great Ancoats Street is a street in the inner suburb of Ancoats, Manchester, England. It forms one of the stretches of the city's inner ring road.A number of cotton mills built in the early and mid-Victorian period are nearby, some of which have been converted into residential or office buildings, such as Albion Mill. The Daily Express Building is on Great Ancoats Street, as is the former Central Retail Park and various hotels. Great Ancoats Street forms the western boundary of the regenerated New Islington area of Manchester on the side of the Rochdale Canal.

The Store Street Aqueduct in central Manchester, England, was built in 1798 by Benjamin Outram on the Ashton Canal. A Grade II* listed building, it is built on a skew of 40° across Store Street, and is believed to be the first major aqueduct of its kind in Great Britain and the oldest still in use today.

The Islington Branch Canal was a short canal branch at Ancoats in north-west England, which joined the main line of the Ashton Canal between locks 1 and 2.

Ardwick Green is a public space in Ardwick, Manchester, England. It began as a private park for the residents of houses surrounding it before Manchester acquired it in 1867 and turned it into a public park with an ornamental pond and a bandstand.It contains a cenotaph commemorating the dead of the Eighth Ardwicks, a former unit of the Territorial Army belonging to the Manchester Regiment. The old drill hall at one end of the park is still used by volunteer soldiers. The other end of the park contains a large boulder, a glacial erratic. The Church of St Thomas, on the north side of Ardwick Green, was consecrated as a chapel of ease in 1741. It was rebuilt and extended in the course of the late eighteenth century, and acquired a campanile tower in the 1830s. Many of the grand buildings have been demolished, including the Ardwick Empire Music Hall (later Manchester Hippodrome) at the eastern end. The business premises of Thomas Brown, surveyor and Resident Engineer for the construction of the Peak Forest Canal, were in Manchester and by 1841 he was living in Allerton Place at 16 Ardwick Green. He died here on the 30 January 1850, aged 78 years. Allerton Place was demolished and by 1915 a tyre works had been built on the site.

Albion Mill is a former industrial building in Manchester, United Kingdom. It occupies the site of a former cotton mill and ironworks. John Hetherington & Sons made textile machinery in Ancoats. The company was founded in 1830 and as it expanded acquired the site of J. and J. L. Gray's Ancoats Mill, and other works on Pollard Street where around 1856 it established the Vulcan Works. The company moved to the Union Iron Works at West Gorton in 1939 as demand for its products declined. The Vulcan Works were used as business premises until 2004, when it was converted into flats as Albion Mill and Vulcan Mill. Today the mills have been converted into flats and offices.

The Cheshire Ring is a canal cruising circuit or canal ring, which includes sections of six canals in and around Cheshire and Greater Manchester in North West England: the Ashton Canal, Peak Forest Canal, Macclesfield Canal, Trent and Mersey Canal, Bridgewater Canal and Rochdale Canal. Because it takes boats approximately one week to complete the circuit, it is suited to narrowboat holidays that start at and return to the same location. The route has 92 locks and is 97 miles (156 km) long. It passes through contrasting landscapes between Manchester city centre and rural Cheshire with views of the Peak District and the Cheshire Plain.
