V&A Dundee is a design museum in Dundee, Scotland, which opened on 15 September 2018. The V&A Dundee is the first design museum in Scotland and the first Victoria and Albert museum outside London. The V&A Dundee is also the first building in the United Kingdom designed by Kengo Kuma.

The RRS Discovery is a barque-rigged auxiliary steamship built in Dundee, Scotland for Antarctic research. Launched in 1901, she was the last traditional wooden three-masted ship to be built in the United Kingdom. Her first mission was the British National Antarctic Expedition, carrying Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton on their first, and highly successful, journey to the Antarctic, known as the Discovery Expedition. After service as a merchant ship before and during the First World War, Discovery was taken into the service of the British government in 1923 to carry out scientific research in the Southern Ocean, becoming the first Royal Research Ship. The ship undertook a two-year expedition – the Discovery Investigations – recording valuable information on the oceans, marine life and being the first scientific investigation into whale populations. From 1929 to 1931 Discovery served as the base for the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE) under Douglas Mawson. This was a major scientific and territorial quest in what is now the Australian Antarctic Territory. On her return from the BANZARE, Discovery was moored in London as a static training ship and visitor attraction until 1979. That year she was placed in the care of the Maritime Trust as a museum ship. In 1986 she was moved to Dundee, the city where she was built. After an extensive restoration, Discovery is now the centrepiece of a visitor attraction in the city. She is one of only two surviving expedition ships from the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration, the other being the Norwegian ship Fram. The ARA Uruguay, which survives and sailed in the Antarctic in 1903, is excluded from this group, as it was not built specifically for Antarctic Exploration.

Caird Hall is a concert auditorium located in Dundee, Scotland. It is a Category A listed building.

Dundee West railway station served the city of Dundee, Scotland, from 1847 to 1965 on the Dundee and Perth Railway. Author John Minnis has described demolition of the "wonderful" station building (built between 1889 and 1890) as "perhaps the most tragic loss" of a piece of railway architecture in Scotland.

Dundee Castle was a castle in Dundee, Scotland, destroyed by Robert the Bruce in 1313. Dundee was created a royal burgh by King William the Lion in the 13th century. The castle was surrendered to the English in 1296. William Wallace laid siege to Dundee Castle in 1297 and the garrison surrendered, before the Battle of Stirling Bridge. The castle was captured again by the English in 1300 and again in 1303 and 1310. King Edward I of England visited the castle in 1300 and 1303 and made repairs to it. Edward de Brus captured the castle held by Constable William de Montfichet in 1312/13 and destroyed it. St. Paul's Cathedral was later built on its site.

St. Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in the city of Dundee, Scotland. It is the cathedral and administrative centre of the Diocese of Brechin in the Scottish Episcopal Church.

Dundee City Chambers is a municipal facility in City Square, Dundee, Scotland. The city chambers, which is headquarters of Dundee City Council, is a Category B listed building.

Dundee railway station serves the city of Dundee on the east coast of Scotland. It is situated on the northern, non-electrified section of the East Coast Main Line, 59+1⁄4 miles (95.4 km) northeast of Edinburgh. Dundee is the tenth busiest station in Scotland. In January 2014, the former main station building was demolished to make way for a new building as part of the Dundee Waterfront Project which opened on 9 July 2018. Dundee railway station is where the Edinburgh–Dundee line meets the Glasgow–Dundee line, via Perth. It is also the start of the Dundee to Aberdeen line.

Gardyne's Land is a complex of five historic buildings on the High Street, Dundee, Scotland. They are the oldest domestic buildings in that city.

Until the industrial revolution, the current City Centre represented the full extent of the City of Dundee, Scotland. Now roughly encircled by the market gait dual carriageway, the city centre is now the main shopping and commercial district. Unlike the city centre of Glasgow, many of the city centre's streets (especially in the southern and eastern quarters) are not built on a grid plan and in that way have more in common with the street plan of the Old Town of Edinburgh (although most buildings in Dundee's city centre date from the 19th century or later).

In July 1906, the city of Dundee was the site of a large fire caused by the ignition of a bonded warehouse. The fire, which burned for 12 hours, has been described as the most destructive fire in the history of Dundee. The fire was described by an eyewitness as sending "rivers of burning whisky" through the city.
