Echt (Dutch: [ɛxt] ; Limburgish: Ech [ˈæx]) is a city in the Dutch municipality of Echt-Susteren in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. It was a municipality itself until it merged with the municipality of Susteren on 1 January 2003. The municipality of Echt had about 19,300 inhabitants and an area of about 75,13 square km.

The Onze Lieve-Vrouwekapel in Echt is a 17-century chapel in Schilberg, a hamlet between Pey and Echt in the Dutch province of Limburg. The chapel was declared a national monument. It is a pilgrimage site for the celebration of the Nativity of Mary.

Echt is a railway station located in Echt, Netherlands. The station was opened in 1862 and is located on the Maastricht–Venlo railway. Train services is operated by Arriva.

Schilberg (Limburgish: Sjaelberg) is a neighborhood in the Dutch Limburgish village of Echt. It is home to Our Lady of Schilberg, a chapel and pilgrimage site. It was home to 1,870 people in 2021.

Echt-Susteren was created in 2003 by merging the former municipalities of Echt and Susteren.Echt-Susteren is situated in a Euregional area. In the west the municipality borders to Belgium and in the east to Germany. The narrowest is only 4.8 km wide. It is possible to walk from Germany to Belgium via Netherlands in under an hour. The area of Echt-Susteren is a green municipality also known as the green waist of Limburg.

The Carmelite Monastery in Echt (Dutch: Karmelitessenklooster te Echt), in the province of Limburg, the Netherlands, also known as the Echt Carmel, is a community of Discalced Carmelite nuns established in 1879.

The Museum van de Vrouw (The Museum of Women) is a museum dedicated to all aspects of women and their lives located in Echt in the Netherlands. The museum houses contemporary exhibits, and particularly highlights issues that characterize femininity, its struggles, and connects traditions with contemporary themes. The museum also focuses on local and regional culture and history.

Sint-Landricuskerk is the Roman Catholic parish church of Echt, dedicated to Saint Landry of Soignies.

Lilbosch Abbey (Dutch: Abdij Lilbosch) is a monastery of the Trappists (Cistercians of the Strict Observance) founded in 1883 and located in Lilboscherveld in Pepinusbrug, Echt, Limburg, in the Netherlands.The abbey is largely self-sufficient thanks to its own farm, which has an area of 110 hectares and supports not only the cultivation of crops but also free-range pig-keeping, calf-rearing and bee-keeping. The farming techniques are organic, as far as possible. Apart from the farmland the abbey has another 30 hectares or so of natural uncultivated land.

The Geleenbeek (Dutch pronunciation: [ɣəˈleːmbeːk]; Limburgish: Gelaenbaek [ɣəˈlɛːmbɛːk]) is a river in Limburg, the Netherlands. Its source is near the village Benzenrade, part of the city of Heerlen. It flows generally northwest, along Nuth, Schinnen, Spaubeek, turns north at Geleen, flows through the centre of Sittard, and further north through Nieuwstadt until it flows into a branch of the Meuse at Stevensweert. Its Latin name is "Glana", which means "bright brook".

Susteren (Dutch: [ˈsʏstərə(n)]; Limburgish: Zöstere [ˈzœstəʀə]) is a city in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Echt-Susteren, about 7 km northwest of Sittard. It was a separate municipality until 2003, when it was merged with Echt. Susteren received city right in 1276. Susteren harboured the Benedictine Abbey Susteren, that was founded in the 8th century and was closed at the end of the 18th century. Its Romanesque church was raised to the status of a basilica in 2007 by pope Benedict XVI. There is a museum ‘t Stift next to the church. Other sights are the Cannon on the market, castle Eyckholt, the mill Dieterdermolen and typical River Meuse valley farms like the Hommelhof. In 1865, Susteren railway station opened on the Maastricht to Venlo railway line.
