Closter High School

The Vervalen House is a historic stone house located at 151 West Street in the borough of Closter in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1983, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS). The house is located near the site of a house built by Bernardus VerValen around 1713. The actual date of this house is unknown. The first recorded information is a sale of the house from Abraham A. Cole to Henry Volk in 1804. It was owned by David Van Valen after 1876.

Harold Hess Lustron House is located in Closter, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1950 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 25, 2000. It is a Lustron house. After threat of destruction the house was deeded to the town of Closter.

Students from Rockleigh attend the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of three schools, had an enrollment of 2,101 students and 234.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.9:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS). According to the nomination form, the farm was confiscated and sold to Henry Folks (Volk) in 1779. Christian Van Horn purchased it in 1800 for his son David Van Horn. After his death, it passed to his son, Cornelius Van Horn.

The John Westervelt House is located at 29 The Parkway in the borough of Harrington Park in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The historic stone house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1983, for its significance in architecture and exploration/settlement. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS). According to the nomination form, the house was built before the American Revolutionary War based on a map by Robert Erskine. In 1779, John Westervelt owned 240 acres (97 ha) here. The house features a Flemish bond brick facade and has been substantially expanded. It was owned by George Ward in 1876 and associated with P. T. Barnum.
