Munlochy railway station

Munlochy ( mən-LOKH-ee; Scottish Gaelic: Poll Lochaidh) is a small village, lying at the head of Munlochy Bay (Ob Poll Lochaidh), in the Black Isle in Ross and Cromarty, in northern Scotland.There are few early records of a settlement, but it seems likely that Munlochy expanded in the 1760s due to quarry workers extracting stone nearby to build Fort George on the far side of the Moray Firth.

Knockbain is a parish on the Black Isle, in the county of Ross and Cromarty in Highland council area, Scotland. It includes the villages of North Kessock, Munlochy and Kilmuir. Croftnacreich () is a hamlet on the Black Isle, in Ross and Cromarty in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is one mile (1.6 km) north-west of North Kessock, next to the A9 road and close to the village of Artafallie.

Charleston is a village on the north shore of the Beauly Firth, about 1 mile west of the Kessock Bridge, in east Ross-shire, Scottish Highlands, within the Scottish council area of Highland. An artificially created village, it was laid out in 1812 by Sir Charles Mackenzie of Kilcoy.This is one of several villages and hamlets with the same name in Scotland. The others are Charlestown, Wester Ross; Charlestown, Fife; and Charlestown of Aboyne. The village lies almost directly opposite Inverness across the Beauly Firth. Almost adjacent to the east of Charlestown is North Kessock, which can be accessed along the A9 road or the coast road. The biggest town to the west, about 9 miles away, is Muir of Ord. The village of Tore, about 5 miles to the northeast of Charleston, is accessed by the A9. Directly north is the small village of Munlochy on Munlochy Bay.

The Mounteagle transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility, situated close to the town of Fortrose, Scotland, in Highland (grid reference NH639580). It includes a 243.8 metres (800 ft) high guyed steel lattice mast. It is owned and operated by Arqiva.

The Black Isle (Scottish Gaelic: an t-Eilean Dubh, pronounced [ən̪ˠ ˈtʲʰelan ˈt̪uh]) is a peninsula within Ross and Cromarty, in the Scottish Highlands. It includes the towns of Cromarty and Fortrose, and the villages of Culbokie, Resolis, Jemimaville, Rosemarkie, Avoch, Munlochy, Tore, and North Kessock, as well as numerous smaller settlements. About 12,000 people live on the Black Isle, depending on the definition. The northern slopes of the Black Isle offer fine views of Dingwall, Ben Wyvis, Fyrish and the deepwater anchorage at Invergordon. To the south, Inverness and the Monadhliath Mountains can be seen.

North Kessock (Gaelic: Ceasag a Tuath or Aiseag Cheasaig) is a village on the Black Isle north of Inverness.

Kilmuir (from the Scottish Gaelic Cille Mhoire, meaning Mary's Church) is a former fishing village, located on the north coast of the Moray Firth in the Black Isle and is in the Scottish council area of Highland. Kilmuir is located 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) northeast of Inverness.

Artafallie (Scottish Gaelic: Àirde Fàillidh) is a hamlet on the Black Isle, in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is about two km (1.2 mi) to the north-west of North Kessock, next to the A9 road.

Kessock Lifeboat Station is located directly under the A9 Kessock Bridge, on the north shore of Beauly Firth at Craigton Point, North Kessock, 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Inverness, in the Highland region of Scotland. A lifeboat station was established at North Kessock in 1993 by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The station currently operates a B-class (Atlantic 85) Inshore lifeboat, Robert and Isobel Mowat (B-873), on station since 2014.
