Joshua Brooks House

The Job Brooks House is a historic American Revolutionary War site in Lincoln, Massachusetts, United States. It is part of today's Minute Man National Historic Park. It is located on North Great Road, just off Battle Road (formerly the Bay Road), about 0.6 miles (0.97 km) west of the contemporary Hartwell Tavern. There are three other Brooks-family houses within a quarter mile — the Samuel Brooks House, the Noah Brooks Tavern and the Joshua Brooks House — hence the area is called Brooks Village.Job Brooks (1717–1794) and his family lived in the house he built, in 1740, just east of his second cousin Samuel Brooks's house on Concord's Bay Road in Concord. It was located on the border of the town of Lincoln, in an area that had been owned by members of his family since the mid-17th century. By the time of the Revolution, this area was known as Brooks Hill, and the cluster of houses on it Brooks Village.Brooks was married to Anna Bridge of nearby Lexington, with whom he had three children: Mathew, Asa and Anna.Job died in 1794, and left the house to Asa.It was purchased by Minute Man National Historic Park in 1959. Today, the house serves as a storage facility for the Park's archaeological collection of more than a quarter-million artifacts from the early Archaic period through the 20th century.

It stands, on the site of a previous home, on North Great Road in Lincoln, Massachusetts, just south of the former Battle Road, in an area known as Brooks Village. It is one of eleven houses within the Minute Man National Historic Park that still exists today.

The Samuel Brooks House is a historic American Revolutionary War site in Concord, Massachusetts, United States. It is part of today's Minute Man National Historic Park. It is located on North Great Road, just off Battle Road (formerly the Bay Road).The house is situated near the border of the town of Lincoln, in an area that had been owned by members of his family since the mid-17th century. By the time of the Revolution, this area was known as Brooks Hill, and the cluster of houses on it Brooks Village. There are three other Brooks-family houses within a quarter mile — the Job Brooks House, the Noah Brooks Tavern and the Joshua Brooks House.Samuel Brooks inherited the house from his father, also Samuel. When he married Mary Bateman Flint, in 1781, he inherited seven stepchildren.Brooks died in 1811.The property was purchased by the National Park Service in 1963.

Minute Man National Historical Park commemorates the opening battle in the American Revolutionary War. It also includes the Wayside, home in turn to three noted American authors. The National Historical Park is under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service and protects 970 acres (392.5 ha) in and around the Massachusetts towns of Lexington, Lincoln, and Concord.

Late on the afternoon of October 24, 1961, police visited an address in Lincoln, Massachusetts, United States, after a neighbor reported seeing a trail of blood leading from the house to the driveway. She had made the discovery after a young girl living in the house had returned from a playdate to find her mother, Joan Carolyn Risch (née Bard; May 12, 1930), absent. Several unconfirmed sightings of an apparently disoriented Risch walking on nearby roads later that day were reported.Blood matching Risch's type was found smeared in the kitchen, and other evidence initially suggested to police that she had been abducted, though her two-year-old son was found safe asleep in his room. Later, however, it was discovered that Risch had borrowed several library books about murders and disappearances, including one with similarities to her case. This led to speculation that she had staged her disappearance, perhaps to escape an uncomfortable domestic life; evidence was later discovered of a troubled past which may have motivated such a scheme. Other theories suggest that Risch suffered an accident on the nearby construction site for the Massachusetts Route 128 freeway. The case remains unsolved.

Hartwell Tavern (also known as the Ephraim Hartwell House) is a historic American Revolutionary War site associated with the revolution's first battle, the 1775 battles of Lexington and Concord. It is located on North County Road, just off Battle Road (formerly the Bay Road) in Lincoln, Massachusetts, and operated as a historic house museum by the National Park Service as part of the Minute Man National Historical Park. Built in 1733, in what was then Concord, it is staffed from Memorial Day weekend to October by park rangers dressed in colonial attire who offer programs daily. The building is in the saltbox style.

The Samuel Hartwell House is a historic American Revolutionary War site associated with the revolution's first battle, the 1775 battles of Lexington and Concord. Built in 1733, in what was then Concord, it was located on North County Road, just off Battle Road (formerly the Bay Road) in today's Lincoln, Massachusetts, and about 700 feet east of Hartwell Tavern, which Hartwell built for his son, Ephraim, and his newlywed wife, Elizabeth, in 1733. The site is part of today's Minute Man National Historic Park. The 240-year-old Samuel Hartwell House was destroyed by fire in 1973, and all that remains is the central chimney stack.

Hartwell Farm was a restaurant in Lincoln, Massachusetts, United States. Established in 1925 by Marion Abbie Fitch, a Boston schoolteacher, and Jane Hamilton Poor, an architect, it occupied the 1733-built Samuel Hartwell House, on Virginia Road in today's Minute Man National Historical Park, until 1968. The building was destroyed by fire in 1973, and all that remains is its central chimney stack.The restaurant's name preserved that of the property owned by Samuel Hartwell (1742–1829).Recipes from the restaurant have been published in several books, including Adventures in Good Eating (1940s and 1950s), Mrs. Appleyard's Kitchen (1974), The Great American Cookbook (2011) and Adventures in Good Cooking (2014). It was described as serving "country fare."The dining table of the restaurant, which served luncheon and dinner, was placed in a "moon" arrangement so as not to have the guests sitting uncomfortably close to the fireplace.Poor died of edema in October 1961.In 1974, Fitch published Hartwell Farm – A Way of Life, a book which documented the running of the property, including the introduction of running water.

The Wheeler-Merriam House (also known as the Elm Brook Farm) is a historic house located at 477 Virginia Road in Concord, Massachusetts. With a construction history dating to about 1692, it is one of Concord's oldest buildings. It is also notable for having joinery by Abner Wheeler, a prominent local builder of the late 18th century, and for its long association with the locally prominent Wheeler and Merriam families. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 26, 1982.
