Palermo Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palermo, located in Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. As an architectural complex, it is characterized by the presence of different styles, due to a long history of additions, alterations and restorations, the last of which occurred in the 18th century.

The Giuseppe S. Vaiana Astronomical Observatory is an astronomical observatory located in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, housed inside the Palazzo dei Normanni. It is one of the research facilities of the National Institute of Astrophysics. The observatory carries out research projects in the field of astronomy and astrophysics including the study of solar and stellar coronas, stellar evolution (including the birth of stars) and of the supernova remnants.

Victory Square (Italian: Piazza della Vittoria) is a square of Palermo. It is located between the Royal Palace and the Palermo Cathedral, down the Cassaro street, in the quarter of the Albergaria, within the historic centre of Palermo. The square is dominated by the great garden of Villa Bonanno.

San Giovanni dell'Origlione is a Baroque-style,deconsecrated, Roman Catholic church located on Piazza Origlione, at the intersection of via Saladino and via Santissimo Salvatore in the ancient quarter of Albergaria of the city of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. It was once attached to a convent of cloistered Benedictine nuns, but after years of abandon, is presently undergoing restoration.

The Church of Most Holy Saviour (Italian: Chiesa del Santissimo Salvatore) is a Baroque-style, Roman Catholic church located on #396 of the ancient main street of the Palermo, the Cassaro, presently Via Vittorio Emanuele, in the ancient quarter of the Albergaria of the city of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy.

Santa Maria delle Grazie di Montevergine (Holy Mary of the Graces) is a Baroque deconsecrated church in Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. It is located on piazetta Montervergini. The church now functions as a theater: Teatro Nuovo Montevergini. The present edifice was constructed in 1698 to replace a smaller church from the 15th century. It was property of the adjacent former cloistered female Clarissan convent; the site of that former monastery is now the Institute "Filippo Parlatore" designed in the 19th century by Lorenzo Ciprì. The facade of the church was designed by A. Palma (1644-1730). The facade has two statues depicting Saints Clare and Rosalia. In the tympanum above the portal is the heraldic symbols of the Franciscan order, with two crossed arms before a Christian cross. The bell-tower was designed by G.Mariani (1681-1731), but completed by the engineer Del Frago. The single nave was frescoed by Guglielmo Borremans with a depiction of the Glory of the Franciscan Order (1721). Surrounding frescoes by Giuseppe Velasco depict the Lifes of Franciscan Saints. The suppression of the religious order in 1866 led to the suppression of the monastery ad removal of many of the interior artworks, including an Annunciation altarpiece by Pietro Novelli, now on display in the Museo Diocesano di Palermo.

Santa Maria di Gesù (Italian) is a Baroque, Roman Catholic parish church in Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. It faces piazza Beati Paoli al Capo in the Capo quarter. Documents assign the church first in 1489. It had been built adjacent to a church of San Rocco later Santi Cosma e Damiano. Documents list the church as belonging to the confraternity dei Neri, but by 1577, the church was affiliated with an order caring for orphan children. In 1648–49, it was granted to a congregation of Christian slaves, later to a confraternity ministering to porters conducting deliveries with animals. In 1660 it was refurbished under the dedication of Santa Maria di Gesù, but locally known as Santa Maruzza ri Canceddi. The facade and layout is simple. The nave ceiling has a fresco depicting Saint Zaccharias. Other frescoes depict events in the life of Mary.

Santa Chiara all'Albergaria refers to a church and former monastery located in piazza Santa Chiara, in the quarter of Albergaria in the city of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. The church is located near the busy outdoor Ballarò marketplace.

The Palatine Chapel (Italian: Cappella Palatina) is the royal chapel of the Norman Palace in Palermo, Sicily. This building is a mixture of Byzantine, Norman and Fatimid architectural styles, showing the tricultural state of Sicily during the 12th century after Roger I and Robert Guiscard conquered the island. Also referred to as a Palace church or Palace chapel, it was commissioned by Roger II of Sicily in 1132 to be built upon an older chapel (now the crypt) constructed around 1080. It took eight years to build, receiving a royal charter the same year, with the mosaics being only partially finished by 1143. The sanctuary, dedicated to Saint Peter, is reminiscent of a domed basilica. It has three apses, as is usual in Byzantine architecture, with six pointed arches (three on each side of the central nave) resting on recycled classical columns. The muqarnas ceiling of the nave and the chapel's rectilinear form show the Fatimid influence in the building's construction.

The Palazzo Speciale Raffadeli is a Gothic-style aristocratic palace located on Via Giuseppe Mario Puglia #2, a block north of the church of Santa Chiara all'Albergaria in the ancient quarter of Albergaria, in central Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy.

San Giovanni degli Eremiti (St John of the Hermits) is an ancient former monastic church located on Via Benedettini #19 in the ancient quarter of Albergaria of the city of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. It is about two blocks south from the Palazzo dei Normanni, adjacent to the church of San Giorgio in Kemonia. While the interior is virtually devoid of decoration or furnishings, the red Norman-Byzantine domes, the medieval cloister ruins, and garden make this small church a symbol of ancient Palermo.
