It is now one property.It has rubble walls, except for the deeply projecting first floor, which is render and likely timber framed.Although its interior has not been inspected by Historic England, it was evaluated by Time Team in 1999. In the episode, architectural historian Beric Morley discovered, in what would have been the back of the building in mediaeval times, a large timber lintel spanning a fireplace that was likely original to the 17th-century construction. A dendochronology sampling dated the timber's felling date (but not the date it was inserted into the fireplace) to around 1290.

Tan Cottage is a Grade II listed building in Plympton, Devon, England. It stands in Plympton's main street at 49 Fore Street, behind numbers 45 and 47, and dates mainly to the 17th century, when it was used as a tannery.It has painted rubble walls, and a dry slate roof over two storeys. A large projection on its western elevation is believed to be the original lateral chimney stack.The building was the focal property of Time Team during their visit in 1999.In the interior, during renovations, a granite corbel was discovered, part of an older wall sitting behind the modern one. The lintel that it supported stretched into the adjacent property to the north, which continued up to Fore Street and the marketplace. During demolition of the property's shed, the top of a moulded granite window with at least two lights was discovered. The head of each window had a trefoil, and given that the top of the window was flat, not rounded, it was thought to be from a domestic building, of some standing, rather than ecclesiastical. Plymouth city archaeologist Keith Ray believed the stone came from the Hurdwick quarry at Tavistock Abbey, at nearby Roborough, which was active from the 12th century.

Standing at 10a and 10b Fore Street, Plympton's main street, it is believed to have originally been a town house, later developed into a shop with attached house. It dates to the mid-18th century, but contains older remnants.It is constructed of Killas rubble with limestone dressings. There are keystoned flat arches that are original to the ground-floor doorways.Although its interior has not been inspected by Historic England, it was evaluated by Time Team in 1999. In the episode, architectural historian Beric Morley discovered, in the kitchen, a late 15th- or early 16th-century slack-head doorway made of granite moorstone that had been "laboriously carved" into a moulding. In the long part of the building's L-shape, he found a window of similar style and age. In the attic, an arched braced roof was shown, the particular style being a West Country special that existed from the end of the 14th century through into the 16th century. A dendochronology sampling dated the timbers to around 1470.Number 10b is now known as Becket House.

It has a double-depth floor plan, believed to include two rooms at the front either side of a central entrance hall.In 1999, the property's front garden was excavated by Time Team, after presenter Tony Robinson pointed out to Mick Aston, from their helicopter hovering above Fore Street, that the property was the only one set back from the road. Carenza Lewis received permission from the homeowner to dig an exploratory trench in her lawn, having seen a row of buildings on the same property on 18th-century maps.

Plympton House is the principal residence at the Plympton House Estate, in the parish of Plympton St Maurice, Devon, England. It is a Grade I listed country house, in the William and Mary tradition, near St Maurice's Church in Plympton, commenced by Sir George Treby (1643–1700) and completed c. 1715 – 1720 by his son George Treby (c. 1684 – 1742). The architect is unknown although accounts in 1720 refer to William Veale, mason. Its kitchen garden wall, southern boundary walls and gate piers and walls are Grade II listed.The house has had three main uses in its 300-year history: firstly a family home; secondly an asylum; and thirdly a convent and residential care home. Having been disused for several years, in 2016 a new plan was announced to bring the estate back into regular use with a sensitive redevelopment plan, creating a community of 14 homes across the site.
