Flea World was a flea market located in Sanford, Florida. It was opened in 1981 by Orlando businessman Syd Levy. Billed as "the nation's largest flea market under one roof", Flea World included more than 1,700 vendors on a 104-acre site. It was open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Orlando Sentinel described it as "a poor man's mall with vendors selling everything from tools, toys and bamboo butterfly nets to legal advice, fortune telling and eyebrow waxing." Levy claimed that at one time, Flea World had more than three million visitors per year.Fun World, an amusement park located adjacent to Flea World, was opened in 1990. The $5 million attraction featured a go-cart track, bumper cars, and carnival rides.In November 2014, Syd Levy announced plans to close Flea World and redevelop the site. At the time, he stated he intended to keep the flea market open until at least January 2016. In July 2015, it was reported that "development plans have been accelerated" and that Flea World would be closing on August 30. Levy said that an exodus of dealers following the announcement of Flea World's impending shutdown had made it "a losing proposition" to continue to run the market. Flea World will be replaced with a mixed-use development called Reagan Center, incorporating apartments, townhomes, office space, and retail space.On May 12, 2016, Demolition started at Flea World, in conjunction with the widening of US 17/92.

Seminole State College of Florida is a public college with four campuses in Central Florida. It is part of the Florida College System. Founded in 1965, the Florida State Legislature signed a charter creating "Seminole Junior College." The college opened in August 1966 with 700 students at a former citrus grove in Seminole County, near U.S. Route 17/92 and County Road 427 (Ronald Reagan Blvd.) now in the city of Sanford. By October 1971, Seminole Junior College's enrollment had exceeded 7,000, and by 1975, Seminole Junior College became "Seminole Community College", with enrollment reaching 14,161. In 2006, Seminole Community College partnered with the University of Central Florida to launch "DirectConnect to UCF", which guaranteed Seminole Community College graduates admission to the university, as well as academic advising by university counselors. In September 2009, the college's board of trustees unanimously approved a motion to rename the institution "Seminole State College of Florida," eight months after the introduction of the institution's first state-approved bachelor's degree program, the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in interior design. As of 2011, the college serves over 30,000 students, full-time and part-time, and is also one of the largest employers in Seminole County. The college has expanded into four campuses since 1965, all based within Seminole County, Florida. Its main campus is located in Sanford, and its satellite campuses are located in Oviedo, Altamonte Springs and Heathrow. The Oviedo campus opened in 2001, the Heathrow in 2007, and the Altamonte Springs in 2008. Seminole State is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Mid-Florida Conference (MFC) and competes in baseball, softball and women's golf. The Seminole County Cemetery is located on the property of the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.

Lake Mary is a suburban city that is located in the Greater Orlando metropolitan area in Seminole County, Florida, United States, and is located in Central Florida. The population was 13,822 at the 2010 census.

Spring Hammock Preserve is a 1,500-acre (610 ha) natural area in Seminole County, Florida. Its mucky areas protect examples of hydric hammock and floodplain forest. Sandy terrain supports upland hardwood and pine flatwood ecosystems. Many animal and plant species in the preserve are either rare or near their range limit.

Lake Mary station is a SunRail commuter rail station in Lake Mary, Florida. The station opened May 1, 2014, and marks a return of passenger rail service in Lake Mary dating back to the community's days as a station stop along the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Main Line. It is the northernmost SunRail station along the former South Florida Railroad Main Line, although not the northernmost station within Seminole County or the system. Lake Mary is typical of most SunRail stations featuring canopies consisting of white aluminum poles supporting sloped green roofs and includes ticket vending machines, ticket validators, emergency call boxes, drinking fountains, and separate platforms designed for passengers in wheelchairs. The station is located along the former CSX A-Line (originally constructed by the South Florida Railroad) near West Lake Mary Boulevard east of Country Club Road. Though the station is officially located on West Lake Mary Boulevard, the actual platforms are located southwest of the Greenleaf Lane grade crossing between North Palmetto Street and East Crystal Lake Avenue and Old Lake Mary Road. The parking lot runs along the west side of North Palmetto Street between West Lake Mary Boulevard and Greenleaf Lane. A transit-oriented development called Station House is located adjacent to the station and features a 200-unit, four story luxury apartment community.

The Lake Mary Chamber of Commerce Building (also known as the Frank Evans Center) is a historic site in Lake Mary, Florida, United States. It is located at 158 North Country Club Road. On February 11, 2004, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building was built in 1926 by Frank Evans as a community center and offices for the Lake Mary of Chamber of Commerce. The building was later used as the City Hall when the city was incorporated in 1973 until 1990 when the current City Hall was completed. The building currently functions as the Lake Mary Historical Museum. The museum began in 1994 in a small room at the back of the building while the rest of the building was used as a gathering place for the city's seniors The museum now occupies the entire building and includes changing exhibits about local history, art, culture and trains.

Gee Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Florida. It is a tributary to Soldier Creek. Gee Creek was named after Henry Gee, a local landowner.

Lake Mary High School is a public high school located in Seminole County, Florida, operating under Seminole County Public Schools. It was opened in 1981.

The Cross Seminole Trail is a pedestrian, bicycle, and equestrian trail in Seminole County, Florida just north of Orlando. The first segment opened in 2002. The current route begins at the intersection of Aloma and Howell Branch where it meets the Cady Way Trail in Winter Park through Oviedo and Winter Springs and stretches into Lake Mary. The trail is 23 miles (37 km) long, or 34 miles (55 km) including the Orange County trail extension. The trail connects to Seminole Wekiva Trail in Lake Mary.

Lady Liberty is a bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) located in Big Tree Park in Longwood, Florida. The tree is over 2,000 years old and stands 40 feet (12 m) from the former site of The Senator, a 3,500-year-old Bald Cypress that burned down on January 16, 2012. With the Senator's demise, Big Tree Park has taken greater notice of its last remaining giant and has taken steps to ensure its preservation.

The Senator was the biggest and oldest bald cypress tree in the world, located in Big Tree Park, Longwood, Florida. At the time of its demise in 2012, it was 125 feet (38 m) tall, with a trunk diameter of 11.27 feet (3.44 m). The destruction of the tree was the unintentional result of a fire set at its base.

Seminole High School, originally established as Sanford High School, is a public high school located in Sanford, Florida, operated by Seminole County Public Schools. From 2006 to 2011, Seminole High School was one of the schools in Seminole County on Newsweek's list of the top 1,200 schools in the United States. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The Academy for Health Careers provides a curriculum based on a future career in health care. Students take a health class and health material is integrated into the curriculum of all other subjects. Seminole High also offers Advanced Placement courses in a range of subjects.
