Oak Glen Preserve

Oak Glen is a census-designated place situated between the San Bernardino Mountains and the Little San Bernardino Mountains in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Oak Glen is located 15 miles east of San Bernardino, at an elevation of 4,734 feet (1,443 m). The population was 638 at the 2010 census. The original settlers, the Cahuilla and the Serrano, harvested acorns; many metates can still be found in the streambeds where the acorns were leached. According to Huell Howser's 2005 California's Gold profile, the potato was the original crop grown by the first Caucasians to settle in the area. The apple orchards produce many varieties of apples including antique varieties no longer widely commercially available such as Ben Davis, Gravenstein, and Pink Pearl. Although Oak Glen grew apples mainly for export, in the 1940s several farms began to sell apples, apple pies, apple cider and apple butter at roadside stands. The export trade has virtually disappeared, and growers now earn much of their revenue from visitors who are allowed to pick apples directly off the trees at some of the orchards.

KQIE (104.7 FM, "Old School 104.7") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Redlands, California and serves the Inland Empire area. The station is owned by LC Media and airs a rhythmic oldies music format. KQIE's studios are located in San Bernardino and the transmitter tower is in Yucaipa. The station is partially simulcast on sister station KOCP in Oxnard, California, also at 104.7 FM.

KRQB (96.1 FM) is one of four Southern California radio stations branded as "Que Buena" and which all play Regional Mexican music. Its owner is Estrella Media. KRQB shares the same weekday morning show as the three Los Angeles-area Que Buena stations, but has local DJs the rest of the day. KRQB is licensed to San Jacinto, California, and serves the Riverside-San Bernardino radio market. KRQB has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,400 watts, as a Class A station. Its transmitter is off Pisgah Peak-Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa.

KXRS (105.7 FM, "La Mejor 105.7" ) is a radio station broadcasting a classic regional Mexican format. Licensed to Hemet, California, United States, it serves Riverside County, California. The station is currently owned by Radio Lazer.

The El Dorado Fire burned 22,744 acres (9,204 ha; 35.538 sq mi; 92.04 km2) in San Bernardino and Riverside counties of California from September to November 2020. It was ignited on September 5 by a pyrotechnic device at a gender reveal party in El Dorado Ranch Park; it quickly spread to the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area of the San Bernardino National Forest. Burning over a 71-day period, the fire destroyed 20 structures and resulted in one firefighter fatality, for which the couple hosting the party were charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Forest Falls is an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County, California, 75 miles (121 km) due east of Los Angeles. The community has a population of 1,102 and contains 712 houses. Forest Falls is best known for the waterfalls on Vivian and Falls creeks and as a point of access for recreation in the San Bernardino National Forest, particularly the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area, which lies directly north of the community.

The Apple Fire was a wildfire that burned during the 2020 California wildfire season in Cherry Valley south of Oak Glen and north of Beaumont and Banning in Riverside County, California in the United States. The fire ignited on Friday, July 31, 2020 as three separate smaller blazes within the rural canyons along Oak Glen Road before merging and rapidly expanded to 1,900 acres (769 ha) and destroyed at least one home and two outbuildings in the Cherry Valley area. It now covers at least 33,424 acres (13,526 ha) and created "a plume of smoke so massive that it generated its own winds." The fire was sparked by a diesel-burning vehicle that emitted burning carbon.

Bearpaw Reserve is a nature preserve on the north-facing slopes of the Yucaipa Ridge in the San Bernardino Mountains. Conifer and oak woodlands support wildlife such as flying squirrels and the southern spotted owl. Columbine Falls is a seasonal waterfall about 110 feet (34 m) high. The 600 acres (240 ha) property is owned and managed by The Wildlands Conservancy as part of its system of preserves.

The Valley Fire was a wildfire that burned near the community of Forest Falls in San Bernardino National Forest, including the San Gorgonio Wilderness in California, United States. The fire was reported on July 6, one of a handful of brush fires that started in the area due to high temperatures and dry conditions. The Valley Fire burned 1,350 acres (5 km2) before it was fully contained on October 22. The fire impacted traffic on Highway 38 due to road closures and has caused evacuations of Forest Falls.

The Bogart Fire was a wildfire in the Bogart Park area of Cherry Valley in Riverside County, California. The fire broke out near Winesap Avenue and International Park Road just southwest of Bogart Park on August 30, 2016. By August 31, the fire was estimated at 1,300 acres.

Southern California (commonly shortened to SoCal) is a geographic and cultural region that generally comprises the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. It includes the Los Angeles metropolitan area (the second most populous urban agglomeration in the United States) as well as the Inland Empire (another large metropolitan area). The region generally contains ten of California's 58 counties: Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties. Although geographically smaller than Northern California in land area, Southern California has a higher population, with 23.76 million residents as of the 2020 census. The sparsely populated desert region of California occupies a significant portion (part of which was even proposed to become a new county due to cultural, economic and geographic differences relative to the rest of the more urban region) of the area: the Colorado Desert, along with the Colorado River, is located on Southern California's eastern border with Arizona, and the Mojave Desert shares a border with Nevada to the northeast. Southern California's southern border with Baja California is part of the Mexico–United States border.

Cherry Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 6,362 at the 2010 census, up from 5,891 at the 2000 census. It is situated at the most northwestern point of the San Gorgonio Pass. The area was planted with many cherry trees, for which Cherry Valley was named. While many of the trees have long since been removed and replaced with homes, a few can still be spotted in backyards throughout the area.
