Ankara Bilim University (ABU) is a private university located in Ankara, Turkey. It was founded by the Turkish Productivity Foundation and officially established with the publication in the Official Gazette dated 17 April 2020. The medium of instruction at the university is English. As of the 2021–2022 academic year, there are 708 students enrolled, of whom 651 are undergraduate and 57 are postgraduate students. The academic staff consists of 80 personnel. The current rector is Prof. Dr. Yavuz Demir.

OSTIM Technical University (Turkish: OSTİM Teknik Üniversitesi) is a private university in Ankara, Turkey. It is the first and only private technical university in Turkey.

The Karşıyaka Cemetery (Turkish: Karşıyaka Mezarlığı) is a modern burial ground located at İvedik neighborhood in Yenimahalle district of Ankara, Turkey. Administered by the Metropolitan Municipality, it is the biggest cemetery in Ankara. Many prominent figures from the world of politics, business, sports and arts rest here. In the end of 1998, the size of the burial area was extended from 1,707 decares (1.707 km2; 0.659 sq mi) to 2,890 decares (2.89 km2; 1.12 sq mi) to meet the need for the city's burial ground until 2025. End November 2009, it was reported by the director of city cemeteries that there are 260,000 graves in the Karşıyaka Cemetery, and the number of interments at the cemetery is about one thousand per month with increasing tendency. He added that "Due to increased rate of burials, it was expected that the cemetery will reach its capacity already in 2010. For this reason a much larger cemetery is projected." Karşıyaka Cemetery is the biggest cemetery in Ankara. The average number of visitors is two thousand daily.

The TCDD Open Air Steam Locomotive Museum (Turkish: TCDD Açık Hava Buharlı Lokomotif Müzesi) is a railroad museum in Ankara, Turkey, which focuses on the history of steam locomotives that operated on the Turkish State Railways. The museum was originally located in a park adjacent to Ankara Central Station, and when the property was needed for the station's enlargement project in 2014, the museum was moved to the current location near Wonderland Eurasia. The museum is owned and operated by the Turkish State Railways (TCDD), who also manages the Ankara Railway History Museum, as well as Atatürk's Car and Railway Art Museum.

Wonderland Eurasia, previously known as Ankapark, was an amusement park in Ankara, Turkey. Opened in 2019, the park had 17 roller coasters, the second-most worldwide. It was closed permanently in February 2020.

İvedik is a neighbourhood in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara Province, Turkey. İvedik Street is the main road in the neighbourhood. It is bordered by Yakacık, Yuva and Karşıyaka neighbourhoods within the same district. The district gardens were once famous for their watermelon production, though it is now an urban area. The largest cemetery within the metropolitan city limits of Ankara, the Karşıyaka Cemetery is situated in İvedik. It stretches over an area of 2,890 decares (2.89 km2; 1.12 sq mi) and holds more than 260,000 graves, among them of many prominent people.

Anakara Büyükşehir Belediyesi Fomget Gençlik ve Spor Kulübü, formerly Fomget Gençlik ve Spor, is a Turkish women's football sports club, based in the Mamak district of Ankara and sponsored by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. FOMGET is short for Folklor Müzik ve Gençlik Topluluğu (Folk Dance, Music and Youth Society), a youth and sports club best known for its folk dance group. Currently, they play in the Turkcell Women's Football Super League. Club president is Taner Bozkuş.

ASKI Sport Hall (Turkish: ASKİ Spor Salonu) is an indoor arena located in Ankara, Turkey. With a seating capacity for 6,000 people, the arena hosted the 2008 Turkish basketball cup final eight in which local Türk Telekom B.K. won the trophy, and hosts high attendance matches of the team that regularly plays at Atatürk Sport Hall.

Marşandiz railway station is a railway station on the Başkentray commuter rail line in Ankara, Turkey. It is located adjacent to Marşandiz Yard and services mainly railway employees who work there. In July 2016, the station was closed down ad subsequently demolished and rebuilt as part of the Başkentray rehabilitation project. The new station site was moved about 200 m (660 ft) east and opened on 12 April 2018. Marşandiz station also replaced Motor Fabrikası station, which closed down in 2016, hence the relocation to the east. Before 2016, the station had one exit to Anadolu Boulevard, which crossed the tracks on a north-south axis. The new station will no longer have access to the Boulevard and will instead have exits to Güvercinlik Avenue and Güvercin Road. Marşandiz station was opened in 1944 by the Turkish State Railways, along with the yard maintenance facilities.On 13 December 2018, a fatal collision between a high-speed passenger train and a maintenance locomotive occurred at the station. Nine people were killed and more than 80 others were injured.

On 13 December 2018, a high-speed passenger train and a locomotive collided near Yenimahalle in Ankara Province, Turkey. Three cars (carriages/coaches) of the passenger train derailed in the collision. Three railroad engineers and five passengers were killed at the scene, and 84 people were injured. Another injured passenger later succumbed to injuries, and 34 passengers, including two in critical condition, were treated in several hospitals.

The TFF Ankara Tennis Training Center was built to international standards by the Turkish Tennis Federation within the Atatürk Forest Farm and Zoo in Yenimahalle District of Ankara Province, Turkey. Late October 2023, still in final construction, a test tournament for the facility was held at the Center Court in the form of the 100th Anniversary Republic Cup Masters Tennis Tournament with the participation of 398 athletes between the ages of 18-65. It was officially opened with a ceremony attended by high government officials and following tennis festival on 20 August 2025. The complex features a total of 13 tennis courts including a Center Court with 3,500 seating capacity, five hardcourts and seven clay courts. It is the first and the only tennis complex in Turkey to hold a tournament on courts of two different surfaces simultaneously. The facility is capable of hosting highest-leveldomestic and internatipnal tennis events.

Batıkent (transl. West City) is a city near Ankara, Turkey. It is a suburban residential area located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) west of the city, and Ankara's largest suburb. The population is approximately 200,000, mainly middle-class families; it is a popular residential area for students and government workers. The dominant dwelling types are semi-detached and detached houses, and apartment buildings. Batıkent was created as a cooperative housing project by Kent-Koop (Union of Batikent Housing Construction Cooperatives) to improve the quality of life for low and middle income people, mostly civil servants, traders, etc. The 1995 estimated cost of this project was approximately 43 billion dollars. Batikent was the first mass housing project to demonstrate the success of public and private partnerships in the housing field in Turkey. It was a pioneer in bringing low income people together in cooperatives, either by place of work or through the workers' unions, to decide for themselves about the type, size and number of units in their housing projects. Housing "by the people and for the people" has affected the housing shortage in Turkey and has depressed the sale and rental prices in the Ankara housing market.
