Te Matuku Bay

Te Matuku Marine Reserve is a marine reserve administered by the New Zealand Department of Conservation. It includes Te Matuku Bay, one of the largest and least disturbed estuaries on Waiheke Island, as well as a surrounding area of sea. It covers an area of 690 ha (1,700 acres) and was established in 2003.The bay and marine reserve are named after the now-rare matuku or Australasian bittern.

Waiheke Island Aerodrome (IATA: WIK, ICAO: NZKE) is a private airport on Waiheke Island, 17 nautical miles northeast of Auckland, New Zealand.

Whakanewha Regional Park is a regional park situated on Waiheke Island in New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf. It is owned and operated by Auckland Council.

Pakatoa Island, previously known as Bell's Island is one of many islands in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand, covering 24 hectares (59 acres). Purchased in the early 1900s by the Salvation Army it was used as an alcohol treatment centre for men for two years, and later women when a larger facility was constructed on Rotoroa Island. The island was sold in 1964 and remains one of the few Hauraki Gulf Islands in private ownership. In 2014 was offered for sale for NZD$35 million (approximately US$29 million). Regarded as sensitive coastal property, purchase by a foreign owner would require approval by the Minister of Finance and Minister of Lands under New Zealand's Overseas Investment Act of 2005. Development on the island includes a tourist resort, a landing strip and a nine-hole golf course. Actor Russell Crowe once worked at the resort in his youth.

Ponui Island (also known as Chamberlin's Island) is a privately owned island located in the Hauraki Gulf, to the east of the city of Auckland, New Zealand. It is located to the southeast of Waiheke Island, at the eastern end of the Tamaki Strait, which separates the island from the Hunua Ranges on the mainland to the south. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "long night" for Pōnui. The island is the site of some of the earliest archaeological remains of early Māori in the Auckland region, dating to at least the 1400s. The island has an area of 18 km2 and has been farmed by the Chamberlin family since 1853. The island now consists of three farms, two owned by the Chamberlin family and one by John Spencer. The only permanent inhabitants (nine in the 2001 census) are associated with the farms which are predominantly used for sheep. From the 1880s until the early 20th century, stone and sand from the island was extracted for use in concrete structures in Auckland. The island is a popular site for youth camps for organisations such as Scouts. Crusader camps (now under the banner of Scripture Union) have been held on the island since 1932. The island is the home of New Zealand's only feral donkey breed, the Ponui donkey. It also has a large population of kiwi.

Rotoroa Island is an island to the east of Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. It covers 82 hectares (200 acres). The Salvation Army purchased it for £400 in 1908 from the Ruthe family to expand their alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility at nearby Pakatoa Island. Men were treated at Home Bay at Rotoroa, while women were treated at Pakatoa. This treatment facility was closed in 2005. In 2008, philanthropists Neal and Annette Plowman negotiated a 99-year lease from the Salvation Army, establishing the Rotoroa Island Trust, and created a program of restoration and redevelopment, designed to return island access to the people of New Zealand. Rotoroa Island opened to the public for the first time in over 100 years in February 2011. The Rotoroa Island Museum opened in 2009.

Ōmiha is a rural settlement on the southwest coast of Waiheke Island in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. The settlement began when the O'Brien brothers subdivided their farm in 1922, naming it "Omiha Beach Estate". The area is also known as Rocky Bay from the bay to the south. A proposal that the name change to Rocky Bay in 2017 met strong opposition and was rejected. The name Ōmiha, with the macron, became official in 2018.

Ostend is a settlement on Waiheke Island, in New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf within the Auckland Region. Ostend is located in the west of the island, on and around a small peninsula which juts into Putiki Bay, one of two large indentations in the island's southwest coast. The southwest of the island contains much of the island's population, with Ostend being located immediately to the east of the settlement of Surfdale, and to the southwest of Onetangi. Ostend is connected to Surfdale by a causeway which crosses the western arm of Putiki Bay. The area is used by boatsmen who moor their boats on the beach, as it is easy to access from the mainland marina at Half Moon Bay. Ostend is home to the island's only supermarket (Countdown), a branch office of the Auckland council, the island's Baptist church, and a medical centre. It is known as the industrial area of the island.

The Waiheke Local Board is one of the 21 local boards of the Auckland Council. It is one of three local board areas overseen by the Waitematā and Gulf Ward councillor.The local board area includes Waiheke Island, Rangitoto Island, Motutapu Island, Motokorea Island, Motuihe Island, Ponui Island and Rakino Island.Cath Handley is the current chair of the board.

Tarahiki Island, also known as Shag Island, is a 6 ha (15 acres) island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. Its highest point is 68 m (223 ft) ASL and it lies 15.6 km (9.7 mi) from the mainland and about 3 km (1.9 mi) east of Waiheke Island. It is well known for its breeding colony of up to 700 spotted shags.

Duder Regional Park is a regional park situated on the coast to the east of Auckland, New Zealand, on the Whakakaiwhara Peninsula.The area was one of the first places in the Auckland Region visited by the Tainui canoe, becoming an important settlement for Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki. In the 1860s, the area was sold to the Duder family, who ran sheep on the peninsula until it was sold to the Auckland Regional Council and opened as a regional park in 1995.

Magazine Bay is a bay in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located to the east of Maraetai.
