Telegraphkhane

ToopKhāneh (Persian: توپخانه; which literally means "Artillery Barracks"), also spelt as Tūpkhāneh, is a major town square (Maidan-e Toopkhaneh) and a neighborhood in the south of the central district of the city of Tehran, Iran. It was built in 1867 by an order of Amir Kabir and Commissioned in 1867. After the Iranian Revolution, it was renamed Imam Khomeini Square (میدان امام خمینی). Cheragh Bargh (Amir Kabir) street ends-up to this square, and Naserie (Naser Khosrow) street, Bob Homayoun street, Sepah street, Ferdowsi street and Lalezar street find ways to other directions.Buildings like Telegraphkhane, Municipality Palace and the Imperial bank building surrounded the square. The Telegraphkhane and the Municipality Palace were demolished in 1970 and 1969 respectively.

Dār ul-Funun (Persian: دارالفنون Persian pronunciation: [dɒːɾolfʊˈnuːn], meaning "polytechnic college") is the oldest Western-style institute of higher education in Iran, established by the royal vizier to Nasereddin Shah in 1851.

The Imperial Bank Building (Persian: ساختمان بانک شاهی) is a historical building in Toopkhane Square Tehran, Iran. It was built during the Qajar era, dedicated to the Imperial Bank of Persia, but since the revolution in 1979 it is owned by the Tejarat Bank. It is listed in the national heritage sites of Iran with the number 7440. It is the only old building remaining in Toopkhaneh square. The other buildings were Telegraphkhane and Tehran's municipality building.

The Imam Khomeini metro station is the junction of Tehran Metro Line 1 and Line 2. The station was opened on 21 February 2000, it is located in Imam Khomeini Square between Panzdah-e-Khordad Metro Station and Saadi Metro Station in Line 1 and Mellat Metro Station and Hasan Abad Metro Station in Line 2. This station is 19 meters underground and has elevator access.

Anti-sabotage Joint Committee, or Komiteh Moshtarak, was built in the 1930s. It was used by Pahlavi regime, specially its secret police known as SAVAK against political opponents. It reportedly was shut down by the Islamic Republic in August 2000. Currently it is Ebrat Museum of Iran ("Edification Museum") of Tehran, putting abuses under Mohammad Reza Pahlavi under display.

Hasan Abad (Persian: Hasan Ābād – حسن‌آباد), also spelled Hasanabad, is an old and historical area within the Monirie District of Tehran, Iran. There is also a famous square in the area which carries the same name.

The Supreme Court of Iran is the highest juridical authority in Iran, established to supervise the correct implementation of laws by courts of justice and consisting of the most prominent judges of the country. The head of the judiciary assigns criteria to ensure uniformity of judicial procedure and to carry out all legal responsibilities. The hearing of offenses committed by the head of the executive is also one of the functions of this court. The General Board of the Supreme Court has the right to issue a "vote of judicial precedent", which enjoys the status of law. Judiciary branches of the Supreme Court have the right to hear complaints about lower courts' decisions. The parties involved in the legal proceeding do not appear in court unless the court cites them for explanations. The rulings issued by this court are in the form of annulment and confirmation of lower courts' decisions. Article 161 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Supreme Court states: Supreme Court of Iran is the highest juridical authority in Iran established to supervise the correct implementation of laws by courts of justice, to ensure uniformity of judicial procedure and to carry out the legal responsibilities being assigned to it based on the criteria determined by the head of the judiciary.

On 18 January 2025, an attack took place at the Supreme Court of Iran, located inside the Palace of Justice in Tehran, Iran. Initial reports stated that the shooting occurred when a man armed with a knife entered, attacking a bodyguard before taking control of the bodyguard's handgun and opening fire. Ali Razini and Mohammad Moghiseh, two senior judges, were shot to death in their offices. The judges shot were involved in adjudicating the cases of protesters, artists, and activists in bench trials and reportedly had roles in the 1988 executions of Iranian political prisoners. The perpetrator killed himself soon after the shooting, before he could be apprehended. No potential motive has been released.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Persian: وزارت امور خارجه, romanized: Vezārat-e Omūr-e Khārejeh) is an Iranian government ministry headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is a member of cabinet. The current Minister of Foreign Affairs is Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who was approved by the Parliament on 25 August 2021 after being nominated by the President. Foreign policy decisions are made in the Supreme National Security Council and according to Ali Khamenei's high courts.

The Marble Throne (Persian: تخت مرمر, romanized: Taxt-e Marmar) is a 250-year-old royal throne in Golestan Palace, Tehran, Iran. The throne was built from 1747 to 1751. It was designed by Mirza Baba Shirazi (Naqqash Bashi) and royal stonecutter, Mohammad Ebrahim Esfahani. It consists of 65 marble stone pieces from a mine in Yazd. The throne's supports are carved in the shape of men, women, fairies, and demons. The Royal Balcony of the Marble Throne is said to be built during the reign of Karim Khan Zand, but Karim khan is known to have even refused the title king, and preferred to sit on a carpet rather than a throne so his ownership of the Marble throne is unlikely. It was changed several times during the Qajar period. The twin stone columns of the balcony were transferred to Tehran, by the order of Agha Mohammad Khan, from Shiraz. The Sun Throne was probably modelled after it.

The National Garden (Persian: باغ ملی, Bāq-e Melli) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gate is a historical and governmental compound in Tehran, Iran. Formerly referred to as the Parade Square (Persian: میدان مشق, Meydān-e Mashq) (میدان رژه, Meydān-e Rezhe), it used to be a military shooting range during the Qajar period. It was then turned into a public park for a short period, and eventually important governmental offices and museums were built around it.Building number 9 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (formerly the "Police House"), the University of Art (formerly the "Cossack House"), Malek National Museum, Post and Communication Museum, and the National Museum are situated in the compound.

City Park (Persian: پارک شهر, Park-e Shahr), with its 26 hectares (64 acres), is an urban park located in the central Tehran, Iran. It is the first public park in Tehran. City Park surrounded by Fayaz Bakhsh Street from the north, Hafez Street from the west, Behesht Street from the south and Khayyam Street from the east. The Tehran Peace Museum is located at the northern gate of this park. Other notable sites of the park include a bird garden, an aquarium, and a central library. In December 2014, Park-e Shahr Birdwatching Site was opened to elevate the public awareness toward eco-tourism and birds. You can see over 50 local and migratory birds in Park-e Shahr.
