Dongio is a village and former municipality in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It was first recorded in year 1188 as Deuci. The municipality also contained the villages Marogno and Motto. It had 532 inhabitants in 1682, which decreased to 391 in 1808. It was then stable for the next two centuries, reaching 488 in 1900 and 423 in 2000. In 2004 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Castro, Corzoneso, Largario, Leontica, Lottigna, Marolta, Ponto Valentino and Prugiasco to form a new and larger municipality Acquarossa.

The Matro (2,171 m) is a mountain of the Swiss Lepontine Alps, overlooking Giornico in the canton of Ticino. It lies at the southern end of the chain separating the main Leventina valley from the Blenio valley. An antenna is located on the summit.

The Brenno is a 40-kilometre (25 mi) long river in canton Ticino in Switzerland. It drains most of the Blenio Valley and it joins the Ticino between Pollegio and Biasca.

Biasca railway station (Italian: Stazione di Biasca) is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Biasca. The station is on the original line of the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, at the foot of the southern ramp up to the Gotthard Tunnel.The line through the Gotthard Base Tunnel, now used by most trains on the Gotthard route, diverges from the existing line to the south of Biasca station (but before Osogna), passing on the surface to the west of the town before entering the tunnel proper at Bodio. Biasca station can therefore only be served by trains on the slower, but much more scenic, original route.Between 1906 and 1973, Biasca was the junction for the metre gauge Biasca–Acquarossa railway to Acquarossa in the Valle di Blenio.
