Kontraskjæret is an area in Oslo, Norway.

Pipervika is a neighborhood in the borough Sentrum in Oslo, Norway. It is located between the Oslofjord, Akershus Fortress and The City Hall Square. Today the term Pipervika is primarily used for the bay between the fortress and Aker Brygge. This was formerly commonly known as Piperviksbukta. It is part of the Fjord City urban renewal project.

Oslo City Hall (Norwegian: Oslo rådhus) is a municipal building in Oslo, the capital of Norway. It houses the city council, the city's administration and various other municipal organisations. The building as it stands today was constructed between 1931 and 1950, with an interruption during the Second World War. It was designed by architects Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson. The building is located in the city center, in the northern part of the Pipervika neighbourhood, and it faces Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall is built of red brick and has two towers, one 63 meters tall and other 66 meters tall. The bricks used are larger than what was typical at the time of construction, but are roughly the same size as bricks used in the Middle Ages. The bricks, measuring approximately 27.5 × 13 × 8.5 cm, were produced by Hovin Teglverk in Oslo. The eastern tower has a carillon set of 49 bells. Various events and ceremonies take place in the building, notably the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, which takes place every December.

Deutsches Theater was a German-language theater in Oslo, Norway which existed between 1941 and 1944, during the German occupation of Norway. It was established on 1 January 1941 following an order from Josef Terboven, and the first performance was held on 22 April 1941 in Nationaltheatret. It later moved to new localities, in Stortingsgata 16. Its premiere performance, the operetta The Land of Smiles by Franz Lehár, was held on 7 June the same year. The theatre closed in September 1944 because the resources needed to be channeled elsewhere in the German war machine.

The Embassy of the Philippines in Oslo is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Norway. Opened in 2007, it is currently located along Nedre Vollgate in central Oslo, near Kontraskjæret and the Akershus Fortress.

Østerdalen (Urban East Norwegian: [ˈœ̂sːtəˌɖɑːɳ]) is a valley and traditional district in Innlandet county, in Eastern Norway. This area typically is described as the large Glåma river valley as well as all its tributary valleys. It includes the municipalities Rendalen, Alvdal, Folldal, Tynset, Tolga and Os in the north, Elverum, Stor-Elvdal, Engerdal, Trysil and Åmot in the south. It historically included Särna and Idre, which is now in Sweden.

Sentrum, meaning city-centre, is located on the southeast side of Oslo near the inner Oslofjord. The district is dominated by high rises like Postgirobygget and The Plaza. Oslo's Central Station is located on the eastern side of the borough. Sentrum consists of Bjørvika which has a history as Oslo's main harbour. The area is now being rebuilt with modern high rises consisting of the Barcode and also several student apartments, schools and museums. Sentrum is not a borough with an administration. It is partially administrated by St. Hanshaugen, and in part directly by the city council. The borough St. Hanshaugen takes care of health and social services.

Treider College (Norwegian: Treider Fagskoler, formerly Otto Treiders Handelsskole 'Otto Treider Business School' and Treider Privatskole 'Treider Private School') is a nationwide professional school in Norway with programs in areas such as tourism, administration (for administrative secretaries, legal secretaries, and half-year courses for secretaries), and sales management (sales and services). The school was founded by the Free Church proponent Otto Treider in 1882 at Kristian Augusts gate 21, and in its time it was Norway's largest and leading business school, offering courses in accounting, economics, and marketing. Treider College has premises at Nedre Vollgate 8 in Oslo and regional offices in Bergen and Trondheim.The company Treider Fagskoler AS, which operates the school, is owned by the investment company Anthon B Nilsen AS, one of Scandinavia's largest private companies involved in education.

The Opera Comique was Norway's first permanent opera company. The company operated at Stortingsgata ('Parliament Street') no. 16 and existed from 1918 to 1921.Its first major production was Tannhäuser with tenor Erling Krogh in the starring role. Altogether, the company staged 26 operas, including the Norwegian opera Bruderovet (The Kidnapped Bride) by Gerhard Schjelderup.

Norway's Resistance Museum also known as the Norwegian Home Front Museum (Norwegian: Norges Hjemmefrontmuseum) is a museum located at the Akershus Fortress in Oslo. The museum collection focuses on Norwegian resistance during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany from 1940 to 1945. The museum displays equipment, photos and documents from the war years.The museum was established as a foundation in 1966. The Museum was opened to the public in May 1970 by Crown Prince Harald of Norway in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Norwegian liberation. Architectural planning was entrusted to Norwegian architect Otto Torgersen (1910-2000) who working together with key personnel representing various branches of the underground forces, produced a chronological gallery through the period from the prelude in the 1930s onwards to liberation in 1945. The museum's first manager was Knut Haugland, who managed the museum until 1983. Tore Gjelsvik was chairman of the museum's council from 1964 to 1973. Arnfinn Moland was appointed manager of the museum in 1995.

Rådhusplassen ("The City Hall Square") is a square located between Oslo City Hall and the Oslofjord in Vika, Oslo, Norway. Previously used as a road and part of European route E18, it has since 1994 served as a recreational area. North of the square stands the city hall, to the south the fjord, to the east Akershus Fortress and to the east the former Western Railway Station.

Tivoli Opera (established 1882, closed 1886) was Norway's first permanent opera stage, located in the converted banquet hall of Tivoli in Oslo. It was led by opera singer Olefine Moe (artistic director), assisted by Swedish Matilda Lundström (administrative director). The opera was nicknamed Mattis & Moe and was thus, unusually for the time, led by two women. The artistic director was first the Italian Paolo Sperati, later the young Hjalmar Meissner. Several of the nearly twenty singers came from the Royal Dramatic Theatre, where Moe had spent several successful years, and there was a small orchestra and a small ensemble for ballet. They were the first permanent opera stage in the country to stage almost twenty world premieres. This was in 1883 with Fredrich von Flotow's Martha, The Barber of Seville, Rigoletto, The Beggar Student and The Marriage of Figaro. In 1884 they continued with Carmen, La traviata and others. Olefine Moe had most of the leading roles. There was also a tour to Bergen and Oslo (1885). The last was Lohengrin (1886).
