Isla Guachinanga is a small island located in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The island, which has a number of trees and ecological areas, was reportedly littered with trash as of 2013.Isla Guachinanga is near Barrio Obrero and Residencial Las Casas.

The Mall of San Juan is a 650,000 sq ft (60,000 m2) upscale shopping mall located across from the San José Lagoon at the south end of the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, near the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It opened its doors on March 26, 2015 and it was anchored by Nordstrom, being the first store in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The mall also had a Saks Fifth Avenue until September 20, 2017 when it was destroyed by Hurricane Maria and on October 30, 2019, Saks announced that it would not reopen at the mall. Original plans included the construction of an office tower and a hotel and casino and was originally set to begin construction later in 2015 and to be completed by 2017. However, it was never built. The mall was constructed at a cost of $475 million by Taubman Centers.

Oriente is one of the 18 barrios of the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is composed of 3 subbarrios: Borinquen, López Sicardó, and San José. Before 1951, it was a barrio of the former municipality of Rio Piedras. In 2010, it had a population of 31,374. It is surrounded by the barrios of Sabana Llana Norte to the east, Sabana Llana Sur to the south, Hato Rey Central and Hato Rey Norte to the west, and Santurce barrio and the San Jose Lagoon to the north.

On October 14, 2019, six people were killed during a shootout between drug gangs in a gun battle at the Ernesto Ramos Antonini de Río Piedras residential apartments in the Río Piedras area of San Juan, Puerto Rico.The shooting led to alarm partly because it followed an earlier shooting in the same area that resulted in 2 deaths. News reports were of earlier shootings in other areas, one in Cayey resulting in 3 deaths and another in a gas station that resulted in 3 deaths. The first in this series of massacres was 3 people in Ciales on June 10. More than 1000 bullet shells were recovered from the scene.

The Parque de Fútbol San Juan Bosco is a 1,000-seat association football stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As of the 2018-19 Liga Puerto Rico season, it hosts the home matches of Don Bosco FC.

Air Caribbean Flight 309 was a domestic, non-scheduled airline flight by Puerto Rican airline Air Caribbean, which on September 26, 1978, crashed as it was preparing to land at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (then known, unofficially, as Isla Verde International Airport) in San Juan, after a flight from Ramey Air Force Base (what is now known as Rafael Hernandez Airport) in Aguadilla, killing all six occupants of the aircraft and injuring several customers of a Barrio Obrero bar over which the airplane fell.

Isla Verde (Spanish for green island) is an area of Carolina located east of Santurce (southwestern front of Piñones) next to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport above the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge. The area lies just outside the eastern border of San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico that links with Hato Rey, which includes the neighborhoods of Floral, Park, Baldrich and El Vedado revolving around "La Milla de Oro" (The Golden Mile) financial district.

Residencial Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas, more commonly known as Residencial Las Casas, Caserio Las Casas or Las Casas, is a public housing complex located in San Juan, Puerto Rico consisting of 417 housing units. It is under the management of the Puerto Rico Housing Authority (Administración de Vivienda Pública in Spanish) and is under the federal housing program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It was named after the famous Spaniard Roman Catholic Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas, who also has a town named after him in Mexico, namely San Cristóbal de las Casas. The Complex is located in an area that was used by the United States military beginning in 1908, as a training camp for the Porto Rico Regiment of Infantry that saw action in World War I and World War II. During that era, the area was known as "Camp Las Casas". It also was Puerto Rico's first commercial air field, with the first Puerto Rican pilot, Félix Rigau Carrera, taking off on the first inter-island flight from the air field, and Aerovías Nacionales de Puerto Rico offering airline service during the 1930s.Residencial Las Casas was built during the 1950s, after the military had left the area, with middle class customers in mind. Many of San Juan's affluent families bought property there. One of its earliest residents was Puerto Rican actress Míriam Colón and activist Antonia Pantoja.During the late 1970s, on September 26, 1978, resident Luciano Rivera made the headlines nationally, as he was one of a few survivors of an aviation crash, Air Caribbean Flight 309, that happened nearby; six people were killed when a Beech 18 belonging to Air Caribbean airlines crashed in Barrio Obrero, at a bar in front of the residencial, trying to land at Isla Verde after a domestic flight from Aguadilla.By the early 1980s, salsa singer Cano Estremera, a resident, began bringing his musician friends over to practice at Las Casas. Estremera would go on to become a legendary singer and international super-star who, in 2003, made a CD commemorating his twenty years in the music industry.
