Villa Rosa (Dresden)

The Prießnitz is a river of Saxony, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Elbe, which it joins in Dresden. For much of its length it flows through the Dresden Heath.

The Lincke'sche Bad was an excursion restaurant with a garden restaurant, summer theatre and concert hall in Dresden. At the same time, it was one of the first open-air baths. The Dresden Court Theatre and famous artists such as Joseph Seconda, the composers Christian Gottlob Neefe and Carl Maria von Weber and the architect Bernhard Hempel worked there. Franz Grillparzer described the theatre during a visit in 1826 and E.T.A. Hoffmann used the location for his play The Golden Pot. In addition, the bath was a popular motif for postcards and engravings, for example by Ludwig Richter.

The Orpheum Dresden is an event hall, the oldest ballroom in the Äußere Neustadt district of Dresden, Germany.

The Johannstadt Neustadt Ferry is a passenger ferry across the Elbe river in Germany. It crosses between the districts of Johannstadt and Neustadt in the city of Dresden.The ferry service is operated by the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB), Dresden's municipal transport authority. The service is maintained by one of the DVB's fleet of five passenger ferries. All the vessels are diesel propelled but of different designs. The oldest ferry dates from 1927 and the most recent from 2004. The smallest ferry carries a maximum of 40 passengers, whilst the largest passenger ferry carries up to 120. All ferries are painted in the DVB's yellow and white livery.

The Staatsschauspiel Dresden (State Playhouse Dresden) is a theatre in Dresden. It is maintained by the Free State of Saxony, hence its name. It consists of a main auditorium, the Schauspielhaus (play house), and a studio theatre, the Kleine Haus. It was created in 1983 and housed in the old Staatstheater Dresden which traced back to a Royal Court Theatre.

Äußere Neustadt (English "Outer New Town"), also known as Antonstadt after Anthony (German: Anton), King of Saxony, is a neighborhood in Dresden, Germany. The Äußere Neustadt contains the part of the Neustadt that is located outside of where the old city walls used to be. Today the area is known for its thriving bars and clubs.

The Sächsische Staatskanzlei (Saxon State Chancellery or Saxon State Chamber) is the office of the Minister-President of Saxony. It is in Dresden on the northern Elbe river banks and was established in 1995. The Staatskanzlei is managed by the State Minister and Head of the Staatskanzlei. The Free State of Saxony also established a Staatskanzlei between 1918 and 1945. The building was used by the Rat des Bezirkes (Board of the Bezirk) of the Bezirk Dresden after the German Democratic Republic had established the Bezirk subdivisions in 1952.

St. John's (German: Johanneskirche) was a church in Dresden dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. It was built from 1874 to 1878 to designs by Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel, making it the first known neo-Gothic building in the city. It was damaged by bombing in the Second World War and demolished in 1954.

coloRadio is a non-commercial self-managed community radio station in Dresden, Germany operated by Radio-Initiative Dresden e.V., a registered association. coloRadio has been transmitting since 8 July 1993. Since 1 March 2007 it has broadcast on 2 weak frequencies, 50 and 100 watts, or via the internet livestream, from Monday to Friday 6 to 11 p.m. CET as well as Saturday and Sunday from noon to midnight, 49 hours a week, on 98.4 and 99.3 MHz. The station's content is divided into four main groups: magazines, music, politics and art and culture. Most programmes on the station are broadcast monthly and are in German, but some broadcasts are also in other languages such as English, Czech, Spanish and Chinese. Decisions are made by a plenum, which is made up of broadcasters and association members. There is no role similar to that of a chief editor at the station. The station is staffed by volunteers, in part to ensure editorial independence. coloRadio is emancipatory radio. coloRadio is a vmember of the "Bundesverbandes Freier Radios" in Germany. The monthly journal of the station is called "Transmitter". Like fellow Saxon community radio stations "Radio Blau" in Leipzig and "Radio T" in Chemnitz coloRadio was taken off FM by the Media Broadcast from 17 April to 13 May 2010 because of a dispute over transmission costs.

The Trinitatiskirche (Trinity Church) was a church building dedicated to the Holy Trinity in the Johannstadt district of Dresden. It was built from 1891 to 1893. The bombing raids of February 1945 completely burned down its aisle, badly damaged the main walls and parish hall, slightly damaged the bell tower and completely destroyed the roof and interior. The debris began to be removed in 1945 and the tower provisionally repaired in 1950. The hall was rebuilt in the mid-1950s and plans in the 1960s to pull down the church ruins were stopped by the parish developing a project to build a room for church services and a conference centre, and so the church's ruins still remain. Following the collapse of Communism and German reunification, the church ruin has been used as a youth center. The main nave and aisles, which are open to the elements as the roof was never replaced, have provided space for meetings, concerts, film screenings, and other activities in keeping with the mission of providing leisure-time alternatives for the area's young people. The surviving spire of the church was renovated and outfitted with a new spiral staircase and rooms for youth center administration, meetings, music band practice, and so on.

The St Francis Xavier Church (katholische Kirche St. Franziskus Xaverius or Katholische Pfarrkirche zu Dresden-Neustadt) was a Roman Catholic church dedicated to St Francis Xavier in the Innere Neustadt district of Dresden. It was built from 1852 to 1853, severely damaged by bombing in 1945 in the Second World War, and demolished in 1957.

The Erich Kästner Museum is a literary museum in Dresden, Germany. The museum covers the life and writings of German children's author Erich Kästner and is based in the Villa Augustin building which had belonged to Kästner's uncle. The museum is notable for its architecture, which was designed to be semi-mobile and fit within a single room,: 28  close to where Kästner had grown up in Dresden's inner new town (Innere Neustadt). The museum focuses on Kästner's early years in Dresden and Leipzig, the connections between his work and children, and his relationship to the media. The museum collection includes first editions by Kästner, including his most famous work Emil and the Detectives, along with garments and objects belonging to Kästner.
