2023 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships

2019 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships is the eighth in a series of World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships (also called World Masters Athletics Championships Indoor, or WMACi). This eighth edition took place in Toruń, Poland, from 24 to 30 March 2019. The main venue was Arena Toruń, which has a banked six-lane indoor track where the turns are raised to neutralize the centrifugal force of athletes running the curves. Supplemental venues included Municipal Stadium for throws, and Rudelka Park for Cross Country. This Championships was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC): Sandy Pashkin, Brian Keaveney, Wackaw Krankowski. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. A full range of indoor track and field events were held. In addition to indoor competition, non-stadia events included Half Marathon, 8K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk, 10K Road Race, Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw.

Arena Toruń is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena in Toruń, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. It is home to Twarde Pierniki Toruń of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). It was officially opened on 10 August 2014.

Stadion Miejski im. Grzegorza Duneckiego, Grzegorz Duniecki Municipal Stadium is an athletics-football stadium, with an adjoining sports complex, in the Chełmińskie Przedmieście district of Toruń, Poland. It is currently the home of Elana Toruń football club and Polski Związek Lekkiej Atletyki Masters athletics association. The stadium is equipped with an 8-lane running track lined with a "mondo" turf, as well as facilities for shot put, discus and hammer throw. In addition, there are multi-directional tracks for long jump, high jump, pole vault and javelin throw. These facilities are all IAAF certified.The stadium also has a full-size football pitch licensed by the Polish Football Association. Underneath the grandstand there are changing rooms for the referees and players, as well as a medical room. The stadium has a capacity of 6,000 spectators, of which 4,300 are seated. Next to the stadium there is also a full-size training football pitch with artificial turf and a field hockey pitch. The stadium is located next to the city's other professional sports facilities, Józef Stogowski Tor-Tor ice rink and Arena Toruń.

The Zoo and Botanical Garden in Toruń (Polish: Ogród Zoobotaniczny w Toruniu) is a zoological and botanical garden located in Toruń, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The botanical garden was established in 1797, which makes it one of the oldest such gardens in Poland. In 1965, the botanical garden was merged with a newly opened zoo. Since 2007, it has been a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń or NCU (Polish: Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu, UMK) is located in Toruń, Poland. It is named after Nicolaus Copernicus, who was born in Toruń in 1473.

Toruń Voivodeship (Polish: województwo toruńskie) was a unit of administrative division and local government in Poland in the years 1975–1998, superseded by the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Its capital city was Toruń.

National Laboratory of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (KL FAMO) is the national inter-university research center with the headquarters at Institute of Physics of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. Established in 2002, the Laboratory is focused on atomic, molecular, and optical physics (AMO).

The Leaning Tower of Toruń is a medieval tower in Toruń, Poland. It is known as a leaning tower because the top of the tower is displaced 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) from where it would be if the tower were perfectly vertical. Located on Pod Krzywą Wieżą street, it is one of the most important landmarks in Toruń's Old Town. As part of the Medieval Town of Toruń it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Historic Monument of Poland.

Mała Wisełka (the former Polska Wisła, German: Polnische Weichsel) is a branch of the Vistula river in the town of Toruń in Poland. It translates literally from Polish as very small Vistula. The Vistula and the Mała Wisełka are forming the island Kępa Bazarowa (German: Bazar-Kämpe).

Toruń Regional Museum (Polish: Muzeum Okręgowe w Toruniu), located in the Ratusz hall of Toruń, is one of the oldest and largest museums in Poland. It started in 1594 as the mere Cabinet of Curiosities at the library of the academic Gimnazjum, called Musaeum in Latin. Re-established in sovereign Poland as a city museum in 1920 after the century of military partitions, it was administratively structured as the regional museum in 1965.

The Old Town City Hall in Toruń is the main secular building of Toruń's Old Town, a Gothic building created in stages during the 13th and 14th centuries, reconstructed in the 17th century and rebuilt after destruction in the 18th century, one of the most outstanding examples of medieval city architecture in central Europe, the main seat of the District Museum in Toruń.
