The college campus occupies a large, wooded, and picturesque site on the lower slopes of Buderim Mountain, a short distance from the famous surfing beaches of Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland. Sporting facilities include a swimming pool, multiple basketball courts and sporting ovals. The school also features a library, a lecture theater and a chapel on venue.

The Maroochy air crash was an aircraft accident that occurred at 11.10am on 30 December 1950 at Maroochydore beach, Queensland, Australia. Three children were killed and fourteen others were seriously injured as a result of the accident.CAC Wirraway Serial Number A20-212 of the Royal Australian Air Force had been circling between Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland during a routine shark patrol when it suddenly banked steeply and crashed onto the crowded beach in front of the Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club. The pilot and his observer survived the crash.

The Mooloolah River is a river in South East Queensland, Australia. The river rises from the eastern slopes of the Blackall Range and flows east-northeast, similar to the Maroochy River to the north. The mouth of the river is at southern Mooloolaba. The catchment area covers 221 km2.Addlington Creek, a tributary of the Mooloolah River was dammed by the Ewen Maddock Dam in 1973. Mountain Creek is another tributary that rises on the Buderim mountain that divides the Mooloolah and Maroochy watersheds. The gastric-brooding frog is a recently extinct frog that was discovered in only three catchments, the Mary River, Mooloolah River and Stanley Rivers. Although the Mooloolah River doesn't experience major flooding often, a flood warning system was established in 2004 to inform the Sunshine Coast Regional Council with river height predictions from network of rainfall and river height field stations.

The Horton Park Golf Club was the only golf club located in central Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. The club was situated next to Sunshine Plaza shopping centre and was established in 1950. On the 20 July 1950, the minutes of the first meeting were signed by the President Mr W Coffey. The first building, a shed and an outhouse were purchased and erected in 1952. After the council reclaimed the land, the club moved to a new site in Bli Bli, on the north bank of the Maroochy River, and is now renamed as the Maroochy River Golf Club. Horton Park is being redeveloped by the council as a new CBD and residential area called SunCentral.
