Cotton Tree Caravan Park is a heritage-listed caravan park at Cotton Tree Parade, Cotton Tree, Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 3 April 2009.

Other populated centres in the catchment include Nambour, Eudlo, Yandina and Coolum. The suburb south of the Airport, and North of the River and west of the Motorway is known as Maroochy River.

Maroochydore ( mə-ROO-chee-dor) is a coastal city in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia.The city was subdivided from the Cotton Tree reserve by Surveyor Thomas O'Connor in 1903. The land was acquired from William Pettigrew who had a timber depot at what is now Wharf Street. Its name comes from the Yuggera language word Muru-kutchi, meaning red-bill and referring to the black swan, which is commonly seen in the area. Maroochydore is a major commercial area of the Sunshine Coast with most shopping precincts located in the central business district. It is home to the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre and the Sunshine Coast's major bus interchange for Translink services operated by Kinetic Group. Maroochydore is also a venue of major surf sport carnivals, and is a popular holiday point from which to travel the rest of Queensland.

The Sunshine Coast is a peri-urban region in South East Queensland, Australia. It is the district defined in 1967 as "the area contained in the Shires of Landsborough, Maroochy and Noosa, but excluding Bribie Island". Located 100 km (62 mi) north of the centre of Brisbane in South East Queensland, on the Coral Sea coastline, its urban area spans approximately 60 km (37 mi) of coastline and hinterland from Pelican Waters to Tewantin. The area has several coastal hubs at Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads. Nambour and Maleny have developed as primary commercial centres for the hinterland. Since 2014, the Sunshine Coast district has been split into two local government areas, the Sunshine Coast Region and the Shire of Noosa, which administer the southern and northern parts of the Sunshine Coast respectively. As of June 2021, with an estimated urban population of 398,840, the Sunshine Coast is the fifth most populated area in Queensland and the 9th most populous in the country. The population of the area has grown steadily at an average annual rate of 2.4% year-on-year over the five years to 2018.

The Horton Park Golf Club was the only golf club located in central Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. The club was situated next to Sunshine Plaza shopping centre and was established in 1950. On the 20 July 1950, the minutes of the first meeting were signed by the President Mr W Coffey. The first building, a shed and an outhouse were purchased and erected in 1952. After the council reclaimed the land, the club moved to a new site in Bli Bli, on the north bank of the Maroochy River, and is now renamed as the Maroochy River Golf Club. Horton Park is being redeveloped by the council as a new CBD and residential area called SunCentral.

Sunshine Plaza bus station was a bus station in Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore. It was serviced by Sunbus services. It closed in November 2013 when replaced by conventional bus stops on Horton Parade.

Alexandra Headland is a coastal suburb of Maroochydore in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Alexandra Headland had a population of 3,958 people.

ABC Sunshine Coast is an ABC Local Radio station based in Maroochydore. The station broadcasts to the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland. This includes the towns of Nambour, Caloundra, Noosa and Gympie. It was originally set-up to target the youth market and broadcast to the Sunshine Coast from a studio at ABC Radio Brisbane. The station is now a news, current affairs and adult contemporary music station. Like most other ABC Local Radio stations throughout regional Queensland, ABC Sunshine Coast offers local breakfast and morning programs. All other programming originates from metropolitan ABC stations, such as the evenings programs which are broadcast from ABC Radio Brisbane. In late September 2014, to fall in line with most ABC Local Radio stations in Queensland, ABC Sunshine Coast began broadcasting their own local edition of The Rural Report, broadcast at 6:20am during the local breakfast program, presented by a Sunshine Coast-based rural reporter. Upon the launch of the local Rural Report, ABC Sunshine Coast also began taking statewide rural affairs program, The Queensland Country Hour, between midday and 1pm.

Sunshine Plaza is a large regional shopping centre located in Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia and is the largest shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast. Anchor tenants included in the centre are Coles, Woolworths, Myer, Kmart, Target, Big W, H&M, David Jones, and a 12-screen Birch Carroll & Coyle cinema. The centre is currently managed by Lendlease.

92.7 Mix FM (call sign: 4SSS) is an Australian commercial radio station located on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, broadcasting as Mix FM. The station can be received in the greater Sunshine Coast area on 92.7 FM. With an adult hits format, the station is targeted towards the older demographics in the listening area, leaving their sister station 91.9 Sea FM to attract the younger demographics with their contemporary hit radio format. Along with 91.9 Sea FM, 92.7 Mix FM is owned by Great Southern Land Media Group. Prior to 2013, Southern Cross Austereo owned the stations, but their sale was forced when the merger of Southern Cross Media Group with Austereo took place in 2011.Because of an overlap between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane radio markets, the sale resulted in a breach of Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA) regulations, stating a media company cannot own more than two radio assets in the same market. The breach occurred as Austereo already owned B105 and Triple M in Brisbane, which meant the company owned four stations within the overlap and a sale of two stations was forced. Southern Cross Austereo protested the decision by ACMA to force the sale of 92.7 Mix FM and 91.9 Sea FM, but the sale was eventually processed.Despite the sale, 92.7 Mix FM retains the look and sound of a Southern Cross Austereo Triple M station, due to the previous program supply arrangements remaining in place allowing the station to continue broadcasting SCA-produced programs. In March 2013, Mix FM was purchased by Eon Broadcasters headed by Glenn Wheatley.In 2015, Mix FM won the first ratings survey undertaken in the Sunshine Coast radio market in ten years with an overall audience share of 19.2%. The station performed best in the 40-54 demographic attracting 32.9% of audience share.In February 2022, the station was sold to Great Southern Land Media Group, owned by some former Southern Cross Austereo executives. Every midnight except Friday, 92.7 Mix FM airs a simulcast of The Night Shift with Luke Bona, which airs on Triple M from 12am to 5:30am AEST. Strangely, at the start of the program and during transitions from commercial breaks, It still says "Triple M"
