Malone is a village in, and the county seat of, Franklin County, New York, United States. Its population was 5,911 at the 2010 census. The village is in the town of Malone. It is home to a campus of North Country Community College.

The Flanagan Hotel In Malone, New York was built in 1917, is the second hotel of this name to be located on the corner of East Main street and Elm Street in the Village of Malone. The Flanagan family owned a much smaller hotel at this location which was founded in 1857. The older hotel was a meeting place during the historical Fenian Raids. The Current building is still to date the largest building in the historic downtown of Malone. In the Flanagan's heyday it was said by locals and travelers alike that it was the largest hotel north of Albany, New York . The hotel suffered a horrendous fire in 1997 supposedly started by someone falling asleep while smoking on their bed in their hotel room. The building from the fire, in 1997, to 2007 was undisturbed. The Flanagan is thought to be an eyesore by many while others see it as a link to Malone's prominent and historical past started the aggressive campaigns of William A. Wheeler to bring The New York Central and Rutland Railroads to town. It is currently partial renovated sitting at a standstill after Frank Cositore, the old owner got foreclosed on in 2009. After sitting for numerous years, he is trying to negotiate to buy back the 120+ year old hotel. The hotel was planned to become a 5 star Best Western Hotel with multiple restaurants, a night club, and a pool on the Roof. This was not widely appreciated by the community because was concerted overambitious. There have been many new plans. For example, there is one that scales down the budget by 4 million dollars and breaks the project up into 3 more economically feasible small projects. There has also been talk of turning the Flanagan in to college dorms for North Country Community College. Additionally NCCC has recently held community art exhibits in the partially renovated hotel.

Malone (Mohawk: Tekanatà:ronhwe) is a town in Franklin County, New York, United States. The population was 14,545 at the 2010 census. The town contains a village also named Malone. The town is an interior town located in the north-central part of the county.

First Congregational Church is a historic church at 2 Clay Street in Malone, New York. The third building of the congregation on the site, it was built in 1883. The congregation was the first formed in Franklin County, NY, in 1807, with the first settled pastor in the county (Rev. Ashbel Parmelee). The congregation erected its first church building in 1826 and replaced that first stone building with a second, of brick, in 1852. It is this second building that is thought to have been built with passages to secret escaping slaves on their way to Canada. One of these tunnels is extant in the basement of the current church building. Vice President William A. Wheeler was a member of the church.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

US Post Office-Malone is a historic post office building located at Malone in Franklin County, New York, United States. It was designed and built in 1934, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department under Louis A. Simon. The building is in the Classical Revival style and is three stories in height with a five-bay, two-story entrance pavilion, one-story side wings and a two-story rear wing. It is of steel frame construction and clad in yellow brick trimmed with limestone.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Malone Freight Depot is a historic railroad freight depot located at Malone in Franklin County, New York. It was built about 1852 by the Northern Railroad, and is a one-story, rectangular sandstone building with a low-pitched gable roof. It measures approximately 40 feet by 120 feet.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Paddock Building is a historic commercial building located at 34 West Main Street in Malone, Franklin County, New York.

Horton Gristmill is a historic grist mill located at Malone in Franklin County, New York. It was built in 1853 and is a 2+1⁄2-story rectangular building with a gable roof. It is built of Potsdam sandstone. From 1917 into the 1950s, it was operated by the Malone Milling Company.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Anselm Lincoln House is a historic home located at Malone in Franklin County, New York. It was built in 1830 and has a 2-story rectangular main block, three bays long by two bays wide, and 1+1⁄2-story wing. It is built of beautifully cut and fitted ashlar block, two feet thick. It is believed to be the oldest stone house in Franklin County. It was donated to the North Country Community College in 1974.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Malone Armory is a historic National Guard armory building located at Malone in Franklin County, New York. It is a brick and stone castle-like structure built in 1892, designed to be reminiscent of medieval military structures in Europe. It was designed by State Architect Isaac G. Perry. It consists of a 2-story, steeply pitched hipped roofed administration building with an attached 1+1⁄2-story, gable-roofed drill shed. The building is built of Potsdam sandstone and features a 3+1⁄2-story round tower on the administration building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Franklin Academy (commonly called FA) is a public high school located in the rural village of Malone, New York that enrolls students from Malone and surrounding communities in northern Franklin County such as Bangor, Belmont, Burke, Constable, Duane and Westville. With an enrollment of around 700 students in Grades 9–12, Franklin Academy is one of the larger high schools in the North Country region of Upstate New York and is accredited by the New York State Department of Education. The school traces its history to 1806 to the Harrison Academy, a private school that was established not long after the founding of Malone.
