New Brighton, Staten Island

Christ Church New Brighton (Episcopal) is a historic Episcopal church complex at 76 Franklin Avenue in New Brighton, Staten Island, New York. The complex consists of a Late Victorian Gothic church (1904) and parish hall, connected to the church by an enclosed cloister, and a Tudor-style rectory (built 1879 and remodeled in 1909).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

One Pendleton Place, also known as the William S. Pendleton House, is a historic home located in the New Brighton neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. It was built in 1860, and is a three-story, picturesque Italianate villa style frame dwelling with a multi-gabled roof. It features asymmetrical massing, a four-story conical-roofed entry tower, and multiple porches including a wrap-around verandah.It was designated a New York City Landmark in 2006, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Hamilton Park Community Houses are three historic homes located at New Brighton, Staten Island, New York. The Pritchard House (66 Harvard Ave., c. 1853) is a large, 2-story "L" shaped brick building coated with rusticated stucco. No 32 Park Place (c. 1865) is a 2-story, brick dwelling with a mansard roof. It features an Italianate style cornice. The Hamilton Park Cottage (105 Franklin Ave., ca. 1860s) is a 2+1⁄2-story red brick house. It features central triple arched porch over the main entrance.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

New Brighton Village Hall was a historic village hall located at New Brighton, Staten Island, New York. It was built between 1868 and 1871 in the Second Empire style. It was a three-story brick building with a mansard roof sheathed with gray slate shingles.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.Due to neglect, it was torn down in February 2004 and replaced with a residential building.

New Brighton was a station on the abandoned North Shore Branch of the Staten Island Railway. It had two tracks and two side platforms. It was located in the New Brighton section of Staten Island, at the north end of Westervelt Avenue and Richmond Terrace (near Jersey Street). It was the closest original North Shore station to the Saint George Terminal, 0.7 miles (1.1 km) from the station.

Neville House (also known as the Tysen-Neville House) is a historic home located at New Brighton, Staten Island, New York. It was built about 1770 and is constructed of red, quarried sandstone. It is in two sections: a 2+1⁄2-story main section and 1+1⁄2-story east wing, each covered by a gable roof. It features a 2-story verandah.It was designated as a NYC Landmark in 1967. It was also added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

St. Peter's Boys High School is an American Catholic all-boys' high school, located in the West New Brighton area of the Staten Island borough of New York City, New York. The school is affiliated with the Christian Brothers of St. John Baptist de la Salle, and is a member of the Catholic High School Athletic Association. The school is located at 200 Clinton Avenue and is part of St. Peter's parish on Staten Island, which also ran a grammar school and all-girls' high school.

The Snug Harbor Music Hall on the grounds of Sailors' Snug Harbor in the New Brighton neighborhood of Staten Island is a 686-seat Greek Revival auditorium that opened in July 1892, making it the second-oldest music hall in New York City. It was designed by the English immigrant architect Robert W. Gibson. Its inaugural performance was the cantata, "The Rose Maiden." In attendance were around 600 residents in plain wooden seats and 300 trustees with their guests in upholstered balcony seats. Entertainment in the decades that followed included the Georgia Minstrels and the Boston Ladies Schubert Quartet. It added film screenings in 1911 and sound projection in 1930. The building closed sometime in the 1970s when the campus faced a lack of funds and a decline in residents.Its interior melds ancient Roman architecture with the Greek myth of Orpheus.Renovations to the interior in 1987 designed by Rafael Viñoly were set to cost up to $20 million but the project was left unfinished due to cost overruns and a poor initial state despite conservation efforts while it was closed. In 1997 Vinoly's firm oversaw a more modest $3 million renovation. In 2019, they broke ground on a new $19.5 million project that would expand and renovate the music hall with a new annex to its east. The project's landscape design was recognized in 2016 with an NYC Public Design Commission Award for Studio Joseph. It was scheduled to open in 2021.

Assumption – St. Paul is a Roman Catholic parish in New Brighton, Staten Island, New York, United States. The parish was formed by the merger in 2007 of Church of the Assumption and St. Paul's Church.

Francis the Praying Mantis is the name of a sculpture depicting a praying mantis. The sculpture is located on the East Meadow in front of the Staten Island Children's Museum, on the grounds of Sailors' Snug Harbor, in Staten Island, New York.The original sculpture, built in 1991, was constructed from wood. It was designed and built by New York artist Robert Ressler.In 2011, the original was demolished due to water damage and, ironically, insect infestation. Francis was redesigned, fabricated and donated by self-taught Staten Island artist Lenny Prince. Francis "2.0" is crafted from over 50 pieces of sculpted metals, including sheet metal and stainless steel, various sized muffler pipes, re-bar and other found metal objects. The realistic multi-lensed eyes are crafted from catalytic converters.

Sailors' Snug Harbor is a former station on the abandoned North Shore Branch of the Staten Island Railway. It had two tracks and two side platforms. Located in the Livingston section of Staten Island north of Richmond Terrace, the station was approximately 1.2 miles (1.9 km) from Saint George Terminal. It is at the northernmost end of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.

The Church of St. Peter is a parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located in Staten Island, New York City in the neighborhood of New Brighton. St. Peter's is the oldest of the 36 Roman Catholic parishes on Staten Island, having been established in 1839, before the second-oldest St. Mary's (1852) and the third-oldest St. Joseph's (1855).
