Mike Carter Field

Butler College (1905–1972) was an American co-educational black school in Tyler, Texas. It started as a combined elementary and high school, it became a junior college by 1924, and by 1951 it was a senior college before reverting back to a junior college in 1960. Butler College closed in 1972, after an enrollment decline. A historical plaque for Butler College (marker 15480) was erected near 1900 Bellwood Road by Texas Historical Commission in 2008.

The Rose Garden Center, or the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, is a historic, municipal garden of roses in Tyler, Texas. It is the largest collection of roses in the United States. It is one of the largest tourist attractions in Tyler, it is the location of the Tyler Rose Museum, and is part of the annual Texas Rose Festival.The Rose Garden Center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 22, 2019, for its role in regional and state tourism.

The Texas Rose Festival, a three-day event held annually in Tyler, Texas, celebrates the role of the rose-growing industry in the local economy. The festivities, taking place during the third weekend of October, draw thousands of tourists to the city each year.

Fair Park was a ballpark located in Tyler, TX and home to the Texas League Tyler Sports for only one season in 1932.

The Whitaker–McClendon House is a living history museum in Tyler, Texas, United States. The house is also known as the McClendon House, and the Bonner–Whitaker–McClendon House. White House correspondent Sarah McClendon was born and raised in this house. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Smith County, is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and a Tyler Historical Landmark.

The Tyler City Hall at 212 N. Bonner Ave. in Tyler, Texas was built in 1938. It was designed by architect T. Shirley Simons, Sr. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The listing included one contributing building and one contributing site on 1.3 acres (0.53 ha).Construction of the building was financed by Depression-era PWA and/or WPA programs. Simons had been hired in 1936 by the City of Tyler "to provide architectural services for publics works projects." Other similar works by Simon were the Mother Frances Hospital and the new Tyler U.S. Post Office and Courthouse.: 92  It has been termed "a good local rendering of Art Deco styling".: 209 

The St. John's A.F. & A.M. Lodge, also known as Tyler Masonic Lodge, refers to a Masonic Lodge in Tyler, Texas and also to its historic building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building, located on Front Street in Tyler, Texas, was built in 1902 by St. John's Lodge #53, a local Masonic lodge (the lodge still meets in the building).The building was designed in Colonial Revival architecture by architect Shirley Simons. It was listed on the National Register in 2005. The listing included one contributing building and one contributing structure.

St. James Colored Methodist Episcopal Church (St. James C.M.E. Church; St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church) is a historic church at 408 N. Border Avenue in Tyler, Texas, United States. It was built in 1920 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Marvin Methodist Episcopal Church, South (also called Marvin United Methodist Church and Marvin Church) is a historic church at 300 W. Erwin Street in Tyler, Texas. It was built in 1890 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Tyler, Texas, United States. It is the seat and principal church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tyler.

The William M. Steger Federal Building and United States Courthouse is a historic government building built in Tyler, Texas. It was built during 1933–1934 in a restrained Classical Revival style. It served historically as a courthouse, post office, and a government office building. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 as the Tyler US Post Office and Courthouse.It was designed by local architect Shirley Simons with supervision by the Office of the Supervising Architect under James A. Wetmore. Its materials include a dark gray mottled granite on the ground floor, light buff limestone cladding the first floor, salmon-colored brick on the second and third floors. Acroterions appear at each corner of a parapet.

The Smith County Historical Society, housed in the Carnegie Library, is located at 125 S. College Street in the city of Tyler, Smith County, Texas, U.S. It was built in 1904 as the Carnegie Public Library, and added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Smith County, Texas in 1979. When Tyler built a new public library, the Carnegie building was leased to the Smith County Historical Society and continues to operate as a museum and archives.
