Sant'Antonio Abate is an ancient church of Naples, located at the beginning of the village of the same name: Borgo Sant'Antonio Abate. Legend has it that the church, placed at the origin of the village of the same name, was founded at the behest of Queen Joanna I of Anjou, but a diploma of King Robert of Anjou, shows that, as early as March 1313, there were church and hospital and that in this place the sick were cured of the disease called "sacred fire" or shingles, a product derived from pig fat. This church was the site of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George. In this church there are two most important paintings by Luca Giordano.

The Botanical Garden of Naples, Italy (in Italian: Orto botanico di Napoli, also Real Orto Botanico) is a research facility of the University of Naples Federico II. The premises take up about 15 hectares and are located on via Foria, adjacent to the gigantic old Albergo dei Poveri, the Royal Hospice for the Poor under the Bourbon dynasty. The facility is part of the university's Department of Natural Science. It is one of the many scientific and educational facilities instituted under French rule in Naples (1806–15). The Garden opened in 1810. At present the Garden displays on the premises around 25,000 samples of vegetation, covering about 10,000 plant species. Although open to the public, the Garden is not, strictly speaking, a public park. It is really an educational facility for the university and local high schools and is separate from the agricultural department of the University of Naples. The Garden is also actively engaged in the preservation of endangered plant species. There is also an ethnobotany section of the Garden where plants are studied that are potentially useful, medicinally, to humans. Besides smaller structures on the premises, there are two larger ones: the 17th-century "castle," recently restored, and the 5,000 square meter Merola Greenhouse. The castle contains lecture and display rooms, and houses the Museum of Paleobotany and Ethnobotany.

Arenaccia is a historical neighborhood or zona of the Fourth Municipality of northeastern Naples, Italy. Its name derives from the Via Arenaccia road that divides the neighborhoods of San Lorenzo and Vicaria, which covers the area. The east–west boundaries are represented roughly by the Piazza Carlo III and the Corso Malta, while the north-west boundaries are represented from the beginning and end of the Via Arenaccia. The district was created with the work of reorganization, to expand the city. A Royal Decree of 25 July 1885 approved the expansion in ten districts of the town of Naples (Arenaccia, Sant'Eframo, Vecchio, Ottocalli, Ponti Rossi, Miradois, Materdei, Vomero-Arenella, Belvedere, and Rione Amedeo) and two suburban districts. Frank M. Snowden says of the district, "Arenaccia, Ottocalli and S. Maria delle Paludi instantly became unhygienic modern slums. To live in Arenaccia, however, denoted a position of relative privilege."Among the notable buildings in the area are the Real Albergo dei Poveri built by Charles III of Spain (which is named after the homonymous square, Piazza Carlo III), the Liceo Classico Giuseppe Garibaldi, and the Teatro San Ferdinando, established around 1790. An artesian well at Arenaccia, near the Ponte della Maddalena, was completed in the year 1888. Stadio Militare dell'Arenaccia was built in 1921–1923.

Santa Maria degli Angeli alle Croci is a Baroque style, Roman Catholic church in Naples, Italy, located on via Veterinaria, near the Botanical Gardens. The extramural church gained its name because the road leading up to this hill here passed a series of crosses.

The English Cemetery, Il Cimitero degli Inglesi, or more correctly, Il Cimitero acattolico di Santa Maria delle Fede, is located near Piazza Garibaldi, Naples, Italy. It was the final resting place of many Swiss, Germans, Americans, Irish, Scottish and English who lived in Naples, were passing through on the Grand Tour, or were merchants or seamen.

Teatro San Ferdinando is a theatre in Naples, Italy. It is named after King Ferdinand I of Naples. Located near Ponte Nuovo, it is to the southeast of the Teatro Totò in the western part of the neighborhood of Arenaccia. Built in the late eighteenth century, the seats are arranged in four box tiers, and the pit. It is most associated with Eduardo De Filippo and the productions of the 1950s under his direction. Closed in the 1980s and reopened in 2007, the San Fernando is managed by the Teatro Stabile of Naples.

Sant'Anna a Capuana is a church located on the piazza of the same name in Naples, Italy. The church was founded in the 16th century near the former city gate at Porta Capuana, as a small chapel for the monks of the Convent of San Francesco di Paola. Construction of the present structure dates from 1751, a design by Giuseppe Astarita. The interior has a raised altar reached by a double ramp stairwell. The canvas in the cupola depicts the Holy Family with St Anne by Marco Cardisco. The organ was made in 1753, by Nicola and Carlo Mancini. The chapels were painted in the 18th century by Francesco Narici and Giovanni Cosenza.

Vicaria (Italian: residence of the Viceroy), often known as Il Vasto, is one of the 30 quartieri of Naples, southern Italy, lying immediately to the east of the historical city centre (Centro storico). It borders the districts of Poggioreale, Zona Industriale and San Lorenzo, which together with Vicaria make up the 4th municipality of the city. It also borders the district of San Carlo all'Arena, in the 3rd municipality. Vicaria comprises a relatively small area, 0.72 km2. It had a population in 2009 of 16,369 inhabitants.It takes its name from the eastern section of the Via dei Tribunali (the "street of the courthouses"), in the neighbourhood of San Lorenzo, once known as the "Via della Vicaria", since the Vicaria (the still-prominent Palazzo Ricca at the east end of the street) housed the main tribunal under the Spanish viceroys.

Santa Caterina a Formiello is a church in Naples, in southern Italy, located at the extreme eastern end of the old historic center of the city, on Via Carbonara and Piazza Enrico de Nicola, near the gate called Porta Capuana. The term Formiello comes from the forms or containers for water spouts found in the convent. Diagonally across the street and South is the Fontana del Formiello against the rear wall of the imposing Castel Capuano.

San Giovanni a Carbonara is a Gothic church in Naples, Southern Italy. It is located at the northern end of via Carbonara, just outside what used to be the eastern wall of the old city. The name carbonara (meaning "coal-carrier") was given to this site allocated for the collection and burning of refuse outside the city walls in the Middle Ages.

The Porta Capuana is an ancient city gate in Naples, Italy. The gate also gives name to the zone, which is one of the ten boroughs of Naples. This zone being part of the Fourth Municipality. In spite of the name, the portal is not the ancient gateway to the decumanus maximus, the main east-west road that once led out of Roman Naples to Capua. When the city was extended eastwards in the 15th century as part of the construction of the new Aragonese city walls, the original gate, which had been closer to the castle of the same name, Castel Capuano, was rebuilt and relocated in 1484. Then when the walls were razed, the gate remained free-standing, giving it somewhat the air of a triumphal arch. The carving on the 1484 facings consists of classically inspired trophies, flying Victories and other triumphal imagery. Just inside the gate, is the domed church of Santa Caterina a Formiello.

The Fontana del Formiello (Fountain of the Formiello) is a historic public fountain located at the rear exterior of the Castel Capuano, facing Piazza Enrico de Nicola, and across the street from the church and convent of Santa Caterina a Formiello in Naples, Italy. The term Formiello comes from the forms or containers for water spouts found in the convent. The fountain had been placed in storage during the late 19th century, and reconstructed at this site in 1930. Mastro Joseppe and Michel De Guido were commissioned in 1573 to reconstruct a medieval fountain, originally called Fontana Reale con Abeveratoio, suggesting it was a watering station for horses. Three lion masks disgorge water, while the superior structure has a heraldic shield of the viceroy. The Shield is that of Don Pedro Tellez Giron, Duke of Osuna. A plaque in Latin states that: "While Philip II (of Spain) governed, here stopped travelers to venerate the waters of the Sebeto River, that the choirs of the Aonidi, and the waves of Parnassus, here provide you the source of Melpomene, who sings the aria of the works of the king." It is rumored that in the 17th century the viceroy Don Pedro Antonio of Aragon added a statue of Philip IV of Spain, but the placement was rebuffed by the people of Naples.
