Chiques Creek

The Schenk's Mill Covered Bridge or Shenk's Mill Covered Bridge is a covered bridge that spans the Big Chiques Creek in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. A county-owned and maintained bridge, its official designation is the Big Chiques #4 Bridge. (Chiques Creek was known as Chickies Creek until 2002).The bridge has a single span, wooden, double Burr arch trusses design with the addition of steel hanger rods. The deck is made from oak planks. It is painted red, the traditional color of Lancaster County covered bridges, on both the inside and outside. Both approaches to the bridge are painted in the traditional white color. It is one of only 3 covered bridges in the county with horizontal side boards. On December 31, 2017, a truck driver from Arizona damaged the bridge while attempting to cross it, claiming to be lost on the way to Baltimore and following his GPS.The bridge's WGCB Number is 38-36-30. Added in 1980, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as structure number 80003531. It is located at 40°6′57.6″N 76°25′31.1″W (40.1160, -76.4253).

As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,695. The community was once part of the Salunga-Landisville CDP, before splitting into two separate CDPs for the 2010 census, the other being Landisville.

Central Hotel and A. Bube's Brewery, are a historic hotel and brewery complex located at Mount Joy, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The brewery building was built in 1859, and consists of a 2 1/2-story, stone flat roofed building with a one-story, attached brick building. The stone portion features large, arched double entry doors. In 1880, Alois Bube built the Central Hotel. It is a three-story, flat roofed building with a wide overhanging cornice and elaborate decoration in the Late Victorian style. The original third-floor had a mansard roof, but it was destroyed by fire in 1893, and replaced with the present configuration. The two buildings are connected by a three-story ice house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 4, 1973.On April 25, 2012, the complex was featured in an episode of Ghost Hunters on Syfy.

Samuel N. Mumma Tobacco Warehouse is a historic tobacco warehouse located at East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1914, and is a three-story, three bay by ten bay, rectangular brick building. It has a gable roof and sits on a limestone foundation. It was built for the processing and storage of cigar leaf tobacco.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Owned and maintained by the county, its official designation is the Big Chiques #6 Bridge.The bridge's World Guide to Covered Bridges Number is 38-36-37. Added in 1980, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as structure number 80003513. The bridge is less than a mile away from the Forry's Mill Covered Bridge.

The Risser's Mill Covered Bridge or Horst's Mill Covered Bridge was a covered bridge that spanned Little Chickie's Creek in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was burnt by an arsonist on July 8, 2002. As of October, 2006, a concrete bridge is being built 100 feet north of the site of the bridge. Plans exist to rebuild a replica of the bridge on the original hand-laid stone bridge abutments. The bridge's WGCB Number is 38-36-36. Added in 1980, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as structure number 80004612, and was removed from the Register on December 5, 2003.

As of the 2010 United States Census the population of Salunga CDP was 2,695 people and the population of Landisville CDP was 1,893 people for a combined total of 4,588, a decrease of about 3.8% from the 2000 United States Census which recorded 4,771 in the Salunga-Landisville CDP. The name "Salunga" comes from the nearby Chiquesalunga (now Chickies) Creek, which in turn is derived from the Lenape "Chiquesalunga", meaning "place of the crayfish". Landisville is named for John Landis, the first postmaster there.
