Varzo

Varzo railway station (Italian: Stazione di Varzo) is a railway station in the comune of Varzo, in the Italian region of Piedmont. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Simplon line of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.

Iselle di Trasquera railway station (Italian: Stazione di Iselle di Trasquera) serves the village of Iselle and municipality of Trasquera, in the region of Piedmont, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1906, the station is at the southern portal of the Simplon tunnel, on the Simplon line, between Brig, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy. It is also the border station between Italy and Switzerland. All rail services to and from the station are operated by BLS AG, a Swiss company.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,487 and an area of 61.8 square kilometres (23.9 sq mi).The municipality of Crodo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alpiano, Rencio, Molinetto, Salecchio (o Bagni), Cravegna, Vegno, Emo, Mozzio, Viceno, Mondei, Rovallo, Cuga, Foppiano, Quategno, Braccio, Maglioggio, Prepiana, Garina. Crodo borders the following municipalities: Baceno, Crevoladossola, Montecrestese, Premia, Varzo.

Montecrestese is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 140 kilometres (87 mi) northeast of Turin and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northwest of Verbania, on the border with Switzerland. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,197 and an area of 86.4 square kilometres (33.4 sq mi).Montecrestese borders the following municipalities: Campo (Vallemaggia) (Switzerland), Crevoladossola, Crodo, Masera, Premia, Santa Maria Maggiore.

Preglia railway station (Italian: Stazione di Preglia) is a railway station in the comune of Crevoladossola, in the Italian region of Piedmont. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Simplon line of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.

The Diveria (Walliser German: Churumm Bach; German: KrummBach) is an Alpine river which flows through Switzerland (Canton Valais) and Italy (Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola). It is a tributary of the Toce and therefore, via Lake Maggiore and the Ticino, of the Po. The valley crossed by the Diveria, the Val Divedro, is the only one in the Valais to form part of the Po basin rather than that of the Rhône.

The Antigorio Valley is one of the Alpine valleys radiating from the Ossola Valley (Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola), in the region of Piedmont, northern Italy.

The Melezzo Occidentale is a 13 km Alpine torrent which runs through the western part of the Val Vigezzo, a side valley of the Ossola in the Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, northern Italy. Belonging to the Po basin, it is a left tributary of the Toce which in its turn flows into Lago Maggiore. The river is formed by the confluence of various streams to the west of Druogno (which marks the watershed between the western and eastern sections of the Val Vigezzo), and runs westward through the narrow valley which connects the high plain of the central Val Vigezza to the Val d’Ossola. After a course of 13 km, which takes it through the commune of Masera and entails a descent of about 2000 m, it joins the Toce near Domodossola.

The Camoscellahorn (also known as Pizzo Pioltone) is a mountain of the Pennine Alps, located on the Swiss-Italian border. The closest locality is Gondo in the Swiss Val Divedro.

Domodossola railway station (Italian: Stazione di Domodossola) serves the city and comune of Domodossola, in the Piedmont region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1888, it forms a major break of gauge junction between standard gauge lines to Milan, Brig and Novara, and a metre gauge line to Locarno. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services on the line to Novara are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. The link with Milan is operated by both Trenitalia and Trenord. Train services on the line to Brig are operated by BLS AG and Swiss Federal Railways, and those on the line to Locarno by the Società Subalpina Imprese Ferroviarie (SSIF). These two lines combine to form an international link, via Domodossola, between the German and Italian speaking parts of Switzerland.

The Punta della Rossa (also known as Rothorn) is a mountain of the Lepontine Alps on the Swiss-Italian border. The name of the mount, in both languages, refers to the red colour of the rocks on this mountain.
