Crodo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 140 kilometres (87 mi) northeast of Turin and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northwest of Verbania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,487 and an area of 61.8 square kilometres (23.9 sq mi).The municipality of Crodo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alpiano, Rencio, Molinetto, Salecchio (o Bagni), Cravegna, Vegno, Emo, Mozzio, Viceno, Mondei, Rovallo, Cuga, Foppiano, Quategno, Braccio, Maglioggio, Prepiana, Garina. Crodo borders the following municipalities: Baceno, Crevoladossola, Montecrestese, Premia, Varzo.

Varzo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) northeast of Turin and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northwest of Verbania, on the border with Switzerland. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,209 and an area of 94.4 square kilometres (36.4 sq mi). Varzo borders the following municipalities: Baceno, Bognanco, Crevoladossola, Crodo, Grengiols (Switzerland), Ried-Brig (Switzerland), Trasquera, Zwischbergen (Switzerland). Varzo is also known because of the Alpe Veglia Natural Park.

The Diveria (Walliser German: Churumm Bach; German: KrummBach) is an Alpine river which flows through Switzerland (Canton Valais) and Italy (Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola). It is a tributary of the Toce and therefore, via Lake Maggiore and the Ticino, of the Po. The valley crossed by the Diveria, the Val Divedro, is the only one in the Valais to form part of the Po basin rather than that of the Rhône.

The Melezzo Occidentale is a 13 km Alpine torrent which runs through the western part of the Val Vigezzo, a side valley of the Ossola in the Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, northern Italy. Belonging to the Po basin, it is a left tributary of the Toce which in its turn flows into Lago Maggiore. The river is formed by the confluence of various streams to the west of Druogno (which marks the watershed between the western and eastern sections of the Val Vigezzo), and runs westward through the narrow valley which connects the high plain of the central Val Vigezza to the Val d’Ossola. After a course of 13 km, which takes it through the commune of Masera and entails a descent of about 2000 m, it joins the Toce near Domodossola.

The Bogna is an Alpine torrent of the Ossola in northern Italy. It flows through the Val Bognanco (to which it gives its name) and into the river Toce near the city of Domodossola as a right tributary. The river starts at Monte Bardo, has a length of about 12 miles, and is known as an "unjust river" (Italian: iniquo fiume) for the destructive floods it had caused in Domodossola for centuries. As the river runs through the entire Bognanco Valley and crosses the municipalities of Bognanco, Domodossola and Crevoladossola. A 1,300 m-long (4,300 ft) wall, the muraccio, was built in the late 18th century to protect the city of Domodossola from the floods of the river. In the 19th century, a remarkable bridge, a masterpiece of architecture, stood over Bogna.

Trontano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian Piedmont region, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) northeast of Turin and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) northwest of Verbania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,684 and an area of 58.0 square kilometres (22.4 sq mi).Trontano borders the following municipalities: Beura-Cardezza, Cossogno, Domodossola, Druogno, Malesco, Masera, Premosello-Chiovenda, Santa Maria Maggiore.

Domodossola railway station (Italian: Stazione di Domodossola) serves the city and comune of Domodossola, in the Piedmont region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1888, it forms a major break of gauge junction between standard gauge lines to Milan, Brig and Novara, and a metre gauge line to Locarno. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services on the line to Novara are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. The link with Milan is operated by both Trenitalia and Trenord. Train services on the line to Brig are operated by BLS AG and Swiss Federal Railways, and those on the line to Locarno by the Società Subalpina Imprese Ferroviarie (SSIF). These two lines combine to form an international link, via Domodossola, between the German and Italian speaking parts of Switzerland.
